Wow

While watching the show, I was like “oh it’s a good drama” but what made it sooooo memorable for me was how I didn’t want it to finish, I wanted to know more what happens in their future…. I loved it
Apart from the loopholes and some things I didn’t understand, what made this show so damn memorable to me was how I felt soooooo empty after this ended… only a few dramas make me feel that void after it ends and even some of my high rated dramas didn’t make me feel that but it was few of those dramas that made me feel so empty and made me look for the novel and I was so eager to know what happens next or if they get their deserved happy ending….
The cast was fantastic, I’ve seen Lanzhu in dashing youth and he was cute, good character but my god I never knew he was that good looking. I love when my handsome men get praised in the dramas cos beauty needs to be praised.. and the praises did him justice, he looked so good ..

Also a moment of silence for that chemistry between two male leads coz even though this was a sterilized, censored adaptation of BL, I could feel their chemistry oozing through the screen… those glances, those dialogues, the way they are always together, it felt sooooo natural ..many times in bl, the chemistry is so forced but here their chemistry was sooo natural , it felt so right to see them together and I wud have loved og BL script with these two, but I loved this version too… something abt these untitled, unnamed relationship in these adaptations makes u addicted coz u just want more and u can’t have it so it kind of makes u crave it and u end up being obsessed. All in all, I loved it

Arrogant CEO can't fathom being snobbed by fake heiress

This drama has one of those arresting opening scenes verticals are known for, that makes you want to drop everything you are doing to binge the rest at once (sleep ? Overrated). Jin Zi is a fake socialite desperate to escape from her horrible family who is sabotaging her art career for money, and she targets rich and famous (but not too rich or too famous) heir Xu Shao Qian who could be her golden ticket to freedom. When she appears glamorous at an elite party in a rented gown, her target's friend the Prince of Beijing Circle (or something) who is the richest and most famous, sees through her game, prepares himself to snob her, only to see her giving him zero attention, which he simply Cannot Have. His ego is bruised as he can't understand why HE isn't the prime target of her scheme. Curiosity turns to attraction, attraction to love, but he's not part of her plan and he didn't make the best first impression on her. The angst, the longing, the sexual frustration (here come the cold showers and alcohol as coping strategies), so delicious, I can't resist.

Zhao Zhen Dong is once again perfect in this (the way he looks at her !) and I vastly prefer Jin Zi in this collab than the Marshall's Runaway Wife one, her character is way more interesting. She's obviously attracted to him, but the drama explains well why it doesn't make sense for her to accept his advances. The visuals are lovely.

On the writing side, it's quite solid, but I have to give credit to the green tea : thank God for her because it's only her intervention in the last arc of the drama that pushes the leads together, as they were until then running in circles around each other. Here comes our resident scheming meimei who basically finds the SML's white moonlight and sents her his way so the FL can have a perfect excuse to break their vows. When it's not enough, she schemes a wedding crash by throwing the deadbeat parents in the ceremony, so our ML can fly to the rescue and princess carry the cute imposter away. Honestly the leads should pay hommage to her when they marry because without her, he would be crying alone in London and she would be wallowing in a tepid marriage.

The Most Anticipated Turns The Most Disappointing!!

If you have watched “The Blood of Youth” & “Dashing Youth”, then you would expect a lot from this show!

In some instances, this show somehow meets those expectations and in some ways, it is slightly disappointing. After having watched the above-mentioned shows, you would be well acquainted with the villains in the novel “Tales of Dark River” (暗河传) by Zhou Mu Nan (周木楠). “The Blood of River” portrays them in their later years while “Dashing Youth” depicts the assassins in former years. The contrast is obvious, so “Blood River” should be the rendition of their organization. The story stretches across Su Muyu & Su Changhe’s need for survival and freedom. The main highlight of this universe is the Bromance, especially when it comes to these two assassins. They are scary, invincible and also quite close to each other. Wherever there is Su Muyu, Su Change would be around. That’s the impression we got from “The Blood of River” & “Dashing Youth”. “Blood River” does touch on this scenario, but then squabbles that chemistry with an unwarranted romance with the female lead.

A beautiful idea but wasted potential

Even in their best attempt at writing an intellectual plot, Chinese writers just can’t give up their obsession with creating shitty characters. This one was a pitiful endeavour to pull off an Inception-like concept, but I’ll still give credit for the boldness ... at least the writer tried something challenging in a world where most Chinese dramas revolve around mistresses and concubine politics.

Still, I can’t defend .., in fact, I hate .... their choice of dramatis personae. If you have the cognitive ability to pick and enjoy such a heavy plot, you’ll most likely get irritated by characters like the ML’s female student. What a pain in the @$$ existence she is ; third-class acting, fourth-class looks, and a completely unnecessary addition to the plot.

Despite its flaws, the drama was fine. At some point, I couldn’t even tell if it was a dream or reality ~ but maybe that’s the whole point.

As for the cast, apart from Li Jiu Lin, everyone else was mediocre. Luna Hu (as Li Meng Wen) was a particularly horrible choice —~~ let’s be real, she looked like an ajumma doing a school uniform cosplay instead of a student. I don’t know which sick-in-the-brain director thought casting her was a good idea.

In the end, if you enjoy non-traditional, confusing, brain-twister plots, give it a try. Otherwise, just skip it.

Ending disappointed some but not necessarily true.

How is it a non romance category drama? It def has subtle bittersweet love guys. Though it's not the main focus, but it surely givess you butterflies. Almost each character has their own little part of love story. And it's neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. Just perfect!

Though the whole drama is filled with legal cases and legal jagron, that can't ppssibly be a complain because that's exactly what it's genre is. And on other side, this drama is basically about educating people of their basic rights and common laws.

The faces are fresh and young. Worth a try!

Family and resilience through hard times. Character driven masterpiece.

The protagonists in this drama are honestly one of the most compelling leads I’ve seen in a while — sharp-minded, warmhearted, effortlessly charismatic, and just incredibly easy to root for. I will start out by saying that the show is heavily character driven rather than plot driven so if you dont like that then the show might not be for you but if a more character based show where it could seem a little slow at points is okay then this is great. Its definitely within my top 10 of 2025 dramas I've watched.
I could rave about Junho for ages, but what really brings him to life is his performance, which always manages to stand out with his great acting. His portrayal captures that perfect mix of confidence and vulnerability. Even when he’s thrown into situations way beyond his comfort zone, he never shuts down. He asks questions, learns from his mistakes, and keeps moving forward though the IMF crisis that the show takes place during. That stubborn hopefulness — that refusal to let the world break him — becomes one of the memorable things for the whole series. With his determination, quick thinking, and the people who believe in him (the people in typhoon, the squad as I called them while watching XD), you can’t help but feel he’s destined to rise.
The FL, by Kim Min HA, is the perfect counterbalance. She’s capable, grounded, and so much more than the typical love interest. Her journey matters just as much — she has her own fears to face and her own battles to fight. And the supporting cast? They all add something real and meaningful. Everyone has a purpose, and everyone grows. By the end, it genuinely felt like every character had undergone a major shift.
What kept me hooked wasn’t just the plot, but how deeply human these characters felt. They were simply people trying to make it through an unforgiving time, holding on to each other in whatever way they could. That sincerity stayed with me long after the finale.

A Dreamy Multiverse Romance That Redefines BL: Vice Versa

Vice Versa is one of those BLs that quietly walks into your heart and ends up staying there forever. The whole series feels like stepping into a soft, colorful universe where fate, love, and destiny are all tangled together in the most beautiful way. Watching it honestly felt like going on an emotional journey with Talay and Puen two souls who were never supposed to meet, yet somehow became everything to each other.

The multiverse concept is handled so uniquely. It never feels confusing; instead, it's like the show is telling us that love can find you in any world if it’s meant to be. The way Talay slowly adapts to the new world, and the way Puen becomes his comfort even when nothing makes sense, made their relationship feel so natural and real.

What I loved the most is how the series balances romance, growth, and self-discovery. Both leads don’t just fall in love; they become better versions of themselves because of each other. Their chemistry is so gentle but powerful—every look, every small touch, every moment feels meaningful.

Visually, the show is stunning. The colors, the cinematography, the transitions… it all feels like a dreamy painting. Even the OST fits perfectly, making every emotional scene hit harder.

And the supporting characters? They’re not just background noise. They make the story richer, bringing warmth, humor, and depth to the journey. Without them, the universe of Vice Versa wouldn’t feel complete.

Overall,
Vice Versa is a BL that teaches you about love, destiny, second chances, and trusting your heart even when the path is strange. It’s unique, emotional, beautifully acted, and honestly one of the most magical BLs I’ve ever seen.

The drama captivates you from the very first episode

The drama is an absolute delight! It popularity is 100% justified. For me, historical cdramas are something new, I turned a blind eye to them for a long time because of my prejudices, but I decided it was time to give it a chance. Everyone declared in unison that this was the best drama in Chinese cinema this year. As a result, from the very first episode, I was drawn into the viewing cycle. I don't know what exactly fascinated me about this drama, but my inner feeling won't let me lie about how much I liked the drama and the characters.
Ming Yi and Ji Bojai are really a couple created in heaven, the actors did an amazing job of conveying all the love and care of their characters. The chemistry between them is just crazy, I’d like to see their couple being happy more and more! The plot is so twisted, but it arouses more interest. Events are changing at an incredible rate. I didn't expect the turn of events that happened in episode 30 at all.
Definitely recommend for everyone to watch! The episodes flew by unnoticed!

This drama is brilliant! also frustratingly slow and repetitive, and I dropped it twice but then started it again, because it's funny, ultra-creative and depicts a beautiful friendship and father-daughter bond.

The main character, Li Shande, is the innocent archetype - seeing no evil, hearing no lies and oozing naivete. This makes him a perfect hero for the comedy of errors that opens the drama, resulting in saddling him with the impossible task of transporting fresh litchis over the distance of 2,500km. The sincere earnestness with which he approaches the task is both deeply touching and hilarious. It becomes his armour and ultimate weapon against the sea of schemers surrounding him. He shares a close bond with his daughter, Xiuer. Their warm and playful moments were the highlight of the story for me.

The drama combines the structure of a morality tale with sharp satire and magical realism that may not be to everyone's taste. It relies heavily on exaggeration. In keeping with satire, a lot of the characters in this drama are larger than life, purposefully written to highlight certain traits. Similarly with places. The vibrancy of southern coastal Lingnan with its lush nature, a crowd of wacky personas and cockfights performed by live actors;) is juxtaposed with the lifelessness of Changan and its uniform, petty officials. The visual layer highlights this beautifully with the rich, hyper-saturated colors (going beyond realism) in the South vs. muted hues in the North. What I didn't like as much was bringing in modern elements that broke my immersion, e.g. actors giving each other thumbs up or visibly trying to suppress laughter. Also, the music at times was as subtle as a gong to the head, forcing emotional reactions. On the other hand, I adored the gallows humour in the early episodes (*knock, knock* I’m dead!). I also loved how every episode started with a short story from the life of Li Shande or another character, showing us how life events shaped them into becoming who they were in the present.

My main problem with this drama is that the satire went on for way too long preventing character growth and stagnating the plot. Watching Li Shande get into the same kind of trouble again and again (and getting the same result) with no development made me feel like the story was spinning in circles and wore my patience thin. It’s hard to keep rooting for someone who doesn't learn and repeatedly makes the same mistakes over the course of so many episodes. IMO the entire reenactment of Asterix vs. Ancient Rome bureaucracy battle in Changan was unnecessary. It brought nothing new to the story and didn’t have a single memorable character. In other words, there can be too much of a good thing. As much as I loved the political satire, petty scheming and wacky humour, it made the plot feel directionless for long episodes and tired me out to the point I needed a four month break before finishing the drama.

Disappointing

I watched this to see if it would get better. Even paid for express. Nothing got resolved. No one was made accountable. The female lead and male lead allowed themselves to be trampled and used by others throughout the whole show. They deserved each other. Their son deserved a lot better. There was no climax in this show at all. It ended on the same sour note as it started. What a shame. If there was any backbone from either of the 2 leads it may have had some potential. FL spoke in whisper like voice entire program.

This is the only show I’ve ever written a bad review. Don’t waste your time starting it only thinking it will get better. It doesn’t.

What a shame. I actually paid for express to watch the last few episodes hoping it would get better. I fast forwarded the bulk of it.

Classic

This is the definition of “Rom-com” this is the pinnacle of Romantic comedy
and this is how it is supposed to be done

I know many people downvoting this drama but you know what? I don’t understand them

This drama has everything, comedy, good characters, great chemistry, a little melodrama moments,
a good message of how a poor unemployed man can’t afford to be with a rich woman who is being spoiled all her life

The dynamic between the poor and the rich is common in Asian dramas but this one is done differently somehow

eun hye is the goat man

“never believe the ratings”

Fantastic!! Not to be missed!

If you’re a CLOY fan this is for you!! No voting moment. Characterization esp ML is great! ACTING IS SUPERB! Funny and sad moments; leaves you wanting more and more after each episode! Great cliffhangers! Re watch value definitely a 10!! Do not miss this show. The story may be a bit too coincidental; many misunderstandings butt hats the cuteness of the plot. The male actor is so dashing - in all angles. And the FL is pretty enough but compliments the actor. Fantastic chemistry in every episode. This is one amazing series!!!

3. AWESOME CHEMISTRY
4. SUPER DUPER NATURAL ACTING THAT YOU START TO INDULGE YOURSELF IN THE CDRAMA
5. HEART-FLUTTERING ROMANCE THAT MAKES U WANNA SCREAM AND KICK YOUR FEET IN THE AIR

Phenomenol acting... she was at her best

I feel like I'm defending the show at every facet of it lol but I work in abuse & trauma and I feel quite passionate about it. So if I see a comment misunderstanding the show, I point it out.

To start off with, it's a 9. 5/10 for me — while I saw great support for it in the beginning, I started seeing the hate after the ending and I wanna add my 2 cents worth :)

I reckon most of the complaints come from people expecting a totally different story.

To the ones who whined “The ending sucked / anticlimactic.”
No — the ending was exactly where these characters were always heading. It’s quiet, messy, and emotionally ugly because they are. The show wasn’t going to suddenly turn poetic or explosive in the last 10 minutes. It stayed true to its tone. That’s consistency, not failure.

To the ones complainong that they didn’t stick to the webtoon ending.
Good!!! Bravo to the screenwriter! The webtoon ending wouldn’t have fit the drama’s pacing or the way these characters were developed on screen. Adaptations are allowed to choose what serves the medium better. The drama chose emotional realism over shock value and it works. Expecting a panel-by-panel recreation is unrealistic. If you want the webtoon ending, it still exists.

To the ones who claimed that Ah Jin’s trauma should not be an excuse for any evil she's done.... No one said it was!!! The drama never tries to justify her actions. It shows how trauma shapes people, not how it absolves them. Ah Jin’s behaviour is awful — and the show lets it be awful. That’s complexity, and a reflection of a great understanding of trauma and its lasting impact.

For the ones who claimed that her husband got away with ordering Jaeoh’s death.
I say not really. In fact, he loses everything that actually matters to him — his control, his marriage, the illusion of being the one in power. The show hands out consequences emotionally and psychologically, not legally. This isn’t a revenge thriller!

As an observation, a drama doesn't have to reward our expectation to be brilliant. Sometimes its refusal to do so is the brilliance! ☺️

The show is messy, dark, beautifully restrained, and unapologetically honest. Not perfect, but close.

So if you appreciate character-driven storytelling that isn’t afraid to linger in moral ambiguity, I recommend this but ditch your expectations as that's how you'll end up disappointed 😊

Are We Serious?

Without a doubt, Secret Relationships is probably the best production that we've seen come out of Korea this year, in addition to 8 episodes with a decent runtime. But I cannot deny that this didn't resonate with me in the slightest bit (okay, maybe a bit, but not entirely). Secret Relationship? More like Brutal (Murderous) Love.

Let's Dive In.

This story attracts you immediately with its beautiful cinematography and four incredibly good-looking men to appease the eyes. At first glance, this seems like it'll be an adorable love square; who can win over Daon's heart? Will it be his longtime crush, Jaemin? The darling coworker from work? The aggressive "ex" of Jaemin from the past? It's makes you wonder, it keeps you on your toes, and them BAM! someone is trying to kill him.

The whiplash I got from this series, holy fuck. Everyone just needs therapy and anger management. Other's need just the death penalty, my goodness. At no point was Daon like, "Yeah, I think I should talk to someone about my maniac friend/crush who destroyed the lives of the people around me for his own benefits, and the fact that he tried to kill me." Like.... are we serious?

I know not all series are going to be bubbly and cutesy and have these characters waving green flags, but this was just not my cup of tea. Lots of people love toxic and I hate it. Maybe cause I'm too much of a realistic person. Daon and Seonghyeon won't last unless they go to couple's therapy. I'm being so deadass.

Everyone frustrated me, but no one ticked every nerve in my body like Daon did. I was hoping by the end, he would've grown a backbone and stood up for himself, but instead, he was the constant damsel in distress and never thought to just scream his head off when Suhyeon was being aggressive and gross, or when Jaemin was trying to molest/kill him. Then, instead of cursing him out like he should've, he just... apologizes? Jaemin reading his note in the hospital had me seeing red. What kind of message is that? Why not instead say, "Hey, once you get out of the hospital, you fucking lunatic, the police will be waiting for you. I hope you burn in hell." Like, how come that was never said?!

There's just so many other non-sensical tropes/devices that happen. Daon waited how long to tell Jaemin he liked him? And then coincidentally, Suhyeon shows up? What? And then you learn that Jaemin is a nutcase, and you think about it, and you're like, "You really committed to a no-dating contract that hard that in the time of Suhyeon leaving to go abroad and now, you never thought to finally make your move?" Like...what? Then you have Seonghyeon who is determined not to leave Daon's side even when Daon is telling him it'll never work out, but suddenly he sees a hickey, and he's done? The same Seonghyeon that has been willing to listen and observe this entire time doesn't wanna hear Daon's side anymore? Are we serious?

The only thing I can applaud about this series is the plot twist of Jaemin being absolutely crazy. I genuinely had no idea that was where the plot was headed. Suhyeon might've been fucked over by Jaemin, but he was no saint either. If anything, I still believe that he was the pure villain of this series, with an abominable redemption arc. "Oh Suhyeon, it's okay that you tried ruining my life and were propelling me into walls. At least you weren't trying to kill me!" Again, are we serious?

Soft, cutesy BL is my bread and butter, I cannot lie. If you loved this series, then I love that for you, but this was just a no-no. Then at the end they try and fix everything by throwing in a time-jump and the worst ending kiss I've ever seen, ever.

Ratings:

Story: 8/10 - Won't deny that I was curious during each episode to see what the fuck was going on. Seonghyeon, my rainbow in the sky. Please run, I promise you Daon's not out of the clear, those men are crazy.

Acting: 9/10 - Stellar!

Music: 5/10 - Distracted me once, but otherwise, fine.

Recommendation Value: 6/10 - this is... brutal. I wouldn't recommend this to someone if they weren't ready for its contents. But, these actors are good, and it's a great Korean BL production, so... maybe?
