Loved the story, the chemistry and the heart-warming acting! <3
A nice, complete K-drama with a good plot, not too light or too heavy. Main couple really killed it with their roles, from their acting to their dialogues. Really loved the chemistry between them! That sweet, giggling, fluffy and heart-soothing romance everyone craves for. I am really in love with FL's big beautiful smile and ML's cutesy baby face. Like..wowww they made such a great couple to watch. If you loved 'King the Land' or 'The Business Proposal,' you'd definitely liked this one. This drama has all - childhood sweethearts, rich boy-poor girl, fake marriage, revengeful ex, latent murder mystery, troublesome in-laws, office romance, and what not! It leaves you with a happy and satisfied heart. My personal favorite is the second couple, their story was so K-Drama coded and truly to fall in love with. Also loved FL's mom and sister character, ML's grandmom's character, like they balanced the drama so well.
Ending is really good, like all the loose ends tied together and like a complete bouquet of new beginnings. No such complex or dark themes. A simple, lovely drama to watch on a sunny day. Moral is that you can always reflect on your mistakes and start anew, you just need to have the courage and will to do it. Don't destroy your whole future for the false thing you have now. Follow your heart, don't let go of the people who truly care about you and accept you for yourself.
The drama never felt so long or stretched. Though it could be more refined, plot could be stronger, side characters' stories could be developed more and more powerful dialogues or memorable scenes. Overall, it was a good, pleasant drama; really loved the beginning, in the middle it at times lost its direction (was really annoyed by FL's ex nagging) but gradually it regained its charm towards the end. Those cozy, heartfelt moments shared between ML and FL, how they used to comfort and embrace each other, have really set the expectations high.
I really loved the FL's character in 'Alchemy of Souls' and she did not disappoint me here. Would love to see more of these characters' future dramas! To end this: the drama was like a sweet, spicy breeze in this cold, winter season; encircling me with comforting joy and eventually warming my heart :))

If the drama was a 7/10 (for me), the bts is a 10000/10: funnier, spicier, more romantic and more embarrassing to watch 🙈:
✔️ character development: from being awkward that first day (table read) to being freaky.. from "they kiss again?" to "there are no more kiss scenes?" (Tian), and from being overwhelmed at all the kisses to initiate unscripted kisses (Ziyu)
✔️ Script: the things that come out from Tian's mouth... directors, zy and us fans were either 😱OMG or 🤣OMG. And this happens in every single bts (zy also has his moments 😂)
✔️ Chemistry: so much chemistry we even have some unscripted kisses. And drunk expressions after a make-out session 🤭
✔️ Direction: 2 official directors + 1 unofficial director. I love all 3 of them <3
✔️ Tian is a walking uncensored image: he was either smoking all the time (hence, the uncensored images 😂) or cursing like a sailor (hence, the beeping sounds).
I fell completely in love with Director Tian XuNing, who is the daddiest, kindest, kinkiest, unbothered king, most affectionate and most shameless ML actor I've seen in any drama. I will miss him and the things that came out of his mouth so much 😭 It was such a ride to watch new videos every morning and share the shock, giggles, sighs and embarrassment with fellow fans. If it wasn't for him, the bts + the drama wouldn't have been the same.
The release of the bts were done at midnight in my timezone. I used to wakeup randomly at 1, 2am and check Twitter. I got so used to do that, I still wake up sometimes and go to Twitter, hoping for some miracle 🥲

Feels too unauthentic and fake from the start, with a weird progresing story and bad character
The drama feels to fake that i cant even relate at all, weird after weird plot story progression that didnt make sense. The FL here is a Toxic and Redflag of the entirety covered by trauma and delusional way of thinking that she is always the victim of everything.
The Idea of the starting plot story is really interesting despite not new, i can imagine how they would really hate eachother despite havin an obligation to be together for the sake of the program. But what the hell, despite whats happening the Ml is too normal and forgiving and lack of anger and emotional reaction from the problem. The FL character writing feels like a justifiable wrong decision makin and victim mentality with trauma as a cover.
Ep 9 is the peak and revelation of the problem and show how toxic FL are.
Ep. 10 is the revelation of how weakwilled the ML are.
And the support ccouple is easliy skippable.

This felt like a manga that got cut and had to finish in 2 chapters
Honestly it had a good start and hooked me from first episode, but it gradually it went downhill and then last two episodes had a steep fall. The show did a good job of making me hate the Yuki family and the protagonists dad. Pretty much every action they made makes me dislike them more. It made me root for Asuka to achieve her revenge.
All the cast did their job very well.
The story felt so rushed after the first half though and with an abrupt ending that felt a bit forced and anticlimactic. Like when a manga gets cut and the author has to finish in the next two chapters. The short episodes didnt help this feeling. Often times with dramas i feel like the runtime of episodes can be shortened and they can cut a few episodes. Here it was the oposite, give the episodes extra 10 minutes and 2 more episodes and it could have had more of a balanced pacing. Though maybe the writing just wasnt enough for that considering the way it ended.
But oh well, it could have been worse ending considering the set up of the second to last episode.
I could complain about more stuff, but dont wanna write spoilers here.
Anyways, time to look up more of Non's work.

The Story of Bi Hyeong: Enchanted Master of the Goblin

:The Story Of Flatness
This is such a cute, entertaining series which is hard to dislike. While it is pleasant, it ought to be more than that. Forlornly, it just is not. My issue and problem with these series is that nothing new is introduced. The characters are endlessly boring and stereotypical. Just once, I just wish something fresh, creative, or original would happen with these stories. While the mythos did make an attempt to change it up a bit by creating a conflict between ‘goblins’ and ‘foxes’, I honestly did not know what the conflict was in the first place and why it needed to continue to the present day. So, the tension-factor was missing. Perhaps it was just me, but I got lost in the story. I know nothing about goblin/fox folklore and so my references to any connecting points between them were nil. I am just not familiar with the myths. Overall, this is simply another ‘canned’ BL no different than the last standard trite one I saw. Now, if I can just remember the name of that one.Was this review helpful to you?
Comforting!
Ah, this was so cute and fun – exactly what I needed right now! I usually really love Esther’s dramas, and this is no exception, although that one scene at the hospital (when she injured her foot a little) wasn’t my favorite to be honest. The face she made was too much, even for me😫 Other than that, she was as cute as ever! Shan Chong is a true lover boy, and I don’t know how many times I rewatched that scene in episode 2, when he puts his face mask on because he’s petty that Wei Zhi doesn’t recognize him, hihi😍😈 Their relationship pre-actually-being-together was so much fun – I love how unabashedly biased he is towards her, it was lowkey hilarious! I also loved Jiang Nan Feng’s and Wei Zhi’s bestie bond, it was so cute😫😭 This was a comfort watch, loved the couple, loved the winter vibes, the snowboarding and little comic bits at the end of every episode; it was all just all too cute for me to handle!!💛💛Was this review helpful to you?
Alchemy of Souls Season 2: Light and Shadow

Already on my 6th time watch, and it's been 3years ever since(plot pun was unintentional)
I'm surprised by the bad reviews in here, can we check theirs dates? I feel like it's just coming from haters. For me personally I liked Season 2 better than Season 1. Unpopular opinion I know, now don't get me wrong, Season 1 had a a great story but it felt a tad bit too draggy to me, and if we're talking about chemistry between ML and FL, Season 1 comes no where close to season 2. In season 1 it felt mostly like teacher x pupil chemistry as intended in the beginning that evolved to be half romance, the FL lead literally had better chemistry with all other MLs other than the first ML, I understand FL might've been cold towards our ML, but still somewhere the passion was missing which was fulfilling in season 2, despite the ML being distant initially. Yeah Naksu is not the same badass anymore, but she's powerful in her own ways. People complain about her change in personality but they seem to forget, This is how she'd have grown up to be if she didn't have had such a traumatic childhood manipulated by all the wrong kind of people. Seasons 2 made me feel emotions I thought I didn't have in me. I did rewatch season 1 too, for plot's sake but couldn't continue after the second time, like Season 1 just existed as a foundation for this season to happen. For me Season 1's like I already know the plot, it's tragic and I don't wanna see it all over again, however for season 2 I kept going back to feel the same giddyness, I felt the first time watching it. If you're looking for a good closure with reunion, giddy feelings and kicking feets, don't mind the bad reviews and go for it if you're still sleeping on it, you're totally missing out if otherwise. For the bad reviewers, idk what's up with them, either they're mad about casting change or romantacize FL's traumatic childhood, that made her so cold, Idk what else to say....In other words it's lowkey a feel good reboot that carries on the story very well with reasonable focus on the past season. One last thing I'll add on is that even though the FL casting changed in this season and both of'em had a different personalities, they still somehow managed to make the audience feel like they're same person, GYJ really carried the torch smoothly after JSM passed it to her. Haters are just sleeping on her acting skills. The ending was very good for a closure, indeed, but could've been even better. I hope they give out spinoff too, since the series is perfectly concluded in this season .

I loved it! 9.5
Am I the only one who thinks that flaws in characters make BL even better? A lot of people enjoy BL because of the vulnerability the characters carry. For me, my all-time favourite BL is Our Youth. It’s the kind of BL I always recommend to people who like emotional, character-driven stories. Our Youth follows two students—one a troublemaker, the other a perfect student—played by Minase and Hirukawa. The story unfolds when Hirukawa, the troublemaker, transfers to Minase’s school and ends up living on the same route as him.
Small spoiler: Hirukawa is a victim of domestic abuse. I won’t say more because I don’t want to spoil the experience for you. Now let me talk about the things I loved about this BL.
1. The stillness
This drama carries a beautiful stillness—calmness mixed with inner chaos. I loved how the scenes unfolded slowly and quietly, letting emotions breathe.
2. The acting
The actors truly became their characters. I’m not talking about their handsomeness (though they are handsome). Their performances felt natural and honest.
I especially loved Hirukawa’s duality—fearless on the outside, painfully vulnerable in front of Minase. You can see everything in his eyes. In some scenes he says one thing, but his eyes reveal the truth: he wants to scream, to tell Minase everything, but he’s terrified of losing him.
Minase’s actor was just as good—perfectly portraying annoyance, happiness, and the quiet loneliness shaped by his parents’ divorce. You can feel how much he enjoys Hirukawa’s company even when he won’t admit it. And those final scenes… when he finally meets Hirukawa again, the emotional shift was so perfect and unforced. It didn’t feel like a typical BL—this one stayed with me. I watched it in 2024, and if someone asks about my favourite BL, it’s always Our Youth.
3. The writing and direction
I don’t know the details about the team, but everything looked and felt amazing. It was like I was fully inside their small world, watching their private little universe unfold.
4. The character arcs
Every character was going through something. They felt human—flawed, real, hurting, growing. I loved how each arc slowly revealed itself.
If you’ve watched My Beautiful Man, definitely give Our Youth a try. It has a similar storytelling style, but I’d say Our Youth is even better—deeper, more melodramatic, more bittersweet, and overall more emotionally rewarding.

Spoilers, Spoilers, Spoilers
I tend to be very specific in my reviews, just so I can remember what I watched. I put off watching this one, because so many people didn't like it, but, since I like Kim Young Dae, I decided to give it a try. And I can say that I am so glad that I did! Lots of spoilers in this, so if you don't want to know what happens, all you need to know is that I recommend you give this one a try for yourself. What I liked:
The story. I do have to say that their past life was more well-developed. Their current lives focused more on other people. I have the attention span of a goldfish, so for me to not have to fast forward at all says a lot. I thought it was very engaging, though sometimes suspending disbelief was more difficult than at other times. I did feel that they spent too much time in showing us that they loved each other, rather than letting us feel their love.
Kim Young Dae. I loved him in Sh**ting Stars. I thought it was unfortunate that he was cast as yet another celebrity, but that's a minor quibble. My only real complaint was he was often too emotionless, but I also have to say that he has the most expressive eyes. I could see them change as he looked at her. Minor complaint - that one lock of hair in the middle of his forehead that was longer than the rest that hung over his nose - did someone just forget to cut that piece?
Pyo Ye Jin. I wasn't sure if she could carry a lead role, but I was very impressed. There was something about her that I can't quite explain why I think she was perfectly cast. She's not beautiful in the typical K-drama sense. Sometimes she would look very pretty, other times just like the girl next door. Her carriage and bearing in the past life were perfect for her role as someone from a powerful family forced to be a slave, but she wasn't about to be anyone's doormat.
Jung Woong In. He was the best villain I've seen in a long time. He was so charismatic, he commanded every scene he was in. And on the creepiness scale, for me he was off the charts!
What I didn't like so much:
Dead fish kisses. I think this was the fault of Pyo Ye Jin. She just looked really uncomfortable. Can the director not see how bad a kiss looks? I think sometimes that no kiss at all is better than bad kisses.
What I hated:
The ending!!! MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. So, this guy has been a ghost following her for 1500 years, in love with her all that time, never wants to be without her, but he disappears when the bad guy dies. The body that the ML had inhabited died. But he disappeared while the funeral was going on? He kept thinking of her name all the time, wanted to meet with her to talk about it. The bottom line? He has no memory of her or the love he had for her!! I'm sorry, to me, that just diminishes their love story. What made it especially sad was, since he was famous, for her whole life she'd see him in projects that he's done, and throughout her whole life she'll miss him and be sad. I know one of them said they'd be together in their next life, and we got three minutes of that next life, when she almost falls and he catches her (is that the most overused trope ever?!?) They said a couple of inconsequential things to each other and stood far apart, staring at each other. THE END. I'm sorry, if I can believe that the guy came back to life, I could certainly believe that he'd remember her somehow. It really made me mad and I dropped the rating a bit because of it. How hard is it to give us a lengthy, happy ending after keeping them apart the whole time!?!?!

It's so fun, so sweet, and their chemistry is amazing.
I rewatched it after episode 12, and I love it even more. The early comedy made me laugh. I loved Woo-joo and Meri's facial expressions in every episode, especially their interactions. They were so cute and funny. I don't often see this kind of expression from other Korean actors. Choi Woo-shik and Jung So-min are truly amazing actors with their facial expressions.
For example, in the scene on the stairs when they talked about their first kiss, or when they signed the house contract at the mall, their cute expressions were so striking. It was funny but also adorable.
And from the middle of the story, when they confessed their love, I enjoyed Woo-joo's love for Meri in every episode. Their understanding, their resolution of their problems, their confrontation with their pasts all made me, the viewer, feel happy.
I'm so glad there's a romantic drama that makes me feel happy at the end of the year. I plan to watch it again during the Christmas break, especially Meri and Woo-joo's scenes, which are the best part of the story. It's so good, so sweet.

My Ultimate Comfort Show: A Hidden Gem That Deserves More Recognition
I love everything about this show. It’s my comfort show. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I was wrong. The story, acting, and soundtrack were amazing. The show has real depth, it isn’t rushed, and the actors’ performances were chef’s kiss. I really hope they’ll be given another series—an even longer one if possible. This show deserves more recognition. It’s my top favorite. Was this review helpful to you?

A Visual Epic of Redemption and Destiny
Whispers of Fate is a fantasy wuxia drama that combines martial arts and mystical elements to tell a story of betrayal, redemption, and destiny. It follows Tang Li Ci, a swordsman gifted with a rare “sound-kill” technique, who is wrongly accused of a massacre and forced to clear his name while uncovering dark conspiracies among sects and immortals. The drama stands out for its breathtaking visuals, including cinematic fight sequences and magical effects, as well as its emotional depth, with Luo Yunxi delivering a powerful performance that captures both vulnerability and strength. Across its forty episodes, the series balances intense action with heartfelt character arcs, making it a visually stunning and emotionally resonant tale of fate and sacrifice. Was this review helpful to you?

Youth to adulthood romance
If I had kept reading these low ratings review, I wouldnt have given this a chance. I watched it and its a solid 8/10 for me. It was good. It's one of those coming of age drama with friends that you grew up with and still remained friends throughout high school, uni and adulthood.Jiang Qiao Xi and his family had their issues which lead to more problems and it took a toll on him mentally. And when a man feels like he is not enough nor can he provide, he will want to distant himself until he can rise again. (just to summarize).
And that didnt matter to Lin Ying Tao, she loves him regardless of what he life was like after everything happened.
All I can say is that they loved each other so much, it was so cute and emotional to see them.
Lin Ying Tao is a smart young girl and Jiang Qiao Xi finally opened to her and as their lives progressed, we all know that they made it through.
Why it wasnt a 9 or 10/10 - I think they spent too much time on the childhood journey of their lives, I was hoping they would skip and go to uni and uni was a little bit too long.... I just thought it would have been better if maybe the last 3-5 episodes were focused on them and their new lives....I wanted to see the successful friends and his parents and their wedding. I wanted to see them start their family and maybe progressed to another 5yrs later... you know?
But that is just my opinion.

"I'll wait for you." should be the real title of the drama!
My overall thoughts about the 21 episodes:It's a fantastic drama with amazing acting, directing, and a meaningful story, BUT it's not perfect. There are a LOT of irritating parts and inconsistent writing as well.
There are multiple characters you can hate, honestly, you can't find good and bad people in this, just people, and that makes this show great, but it's gonna infuriate you, because the characters making stupid decisions, just like real people. I felt it was a bit dragged, some parts were overdramatic for no reason, and didn't make much sense story wise, but overall, this is a MUST-WATCH!
Namkoong Min and Ahn Eun Jin carried this drama with ease. They were incredible together.
I don't want to go into details, because that wouldn't be spoiler-free, and honestly, you need to experience this show by yourself.

To love means to sacrifice — but if you have the choice to fight for it, then fight for it.
True to its title, they really did fight for their love.If you're looking for a romance-filled drama, I have to honestly say this is not it. But if you want a great historical drama with a strong storyline, then please do enjoy this show.
I liked all the characters, and their stories were fairly executed. Chang Ming and Chu Yu’s friendship was also so underrated — and her loveline was really good, especially if you enjoy a bit of angst. I’m also glad that everything that needed explanation was answered in this drama.
As for the OSTs (this is just my personal opinion), the soundtrack was one of the reasons the romance wasn’t represented well. I say this because I’ve loved many dramas mainly because the soundtracks helped convey the emotions the story wanted to express.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. And honestly, I’m glad I didn’t read the comments here before watching the show, so my view of it wasn’t affected.
