a warm fluffy blanket

Overall: a sweet series that I could re-watch many times. Based on the book "Shugakuryoko de Nakayokunai Group ni Hairimashita" by Kakuregi Uzura which I haven't read and am reviewing the series on its own merits. 10 episodes about 20 minutes each. Aired on https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5924/school-trip-joined-a-group-im-not-close-to-2025 (not available in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong or Macau).

What I Liked
- how a character was laser-focused on another character but he wasn't oppressive or creepy
- supportive friends
- honest communication, especially towards the end of episode 8
- cute and caring moments

Room For Improvement
- the awkwardness/obliviousness was a bit too much at times in the beginning
- continuity error, they were supposed to be soaking wet and the next second they looked totally dry
- nonsense: I don't think women would be screaming and waiting in a long line to take a picture with non-celebrities, he couldn't see at all without his glasses and suddenly he could see fine, 1 sip is not going to make a person tipsy/want to throw up
- (neutral) voicing inner thoughts

Burning Chemistry between Step-Siblings..

the classic Badboy/Good girl trope, forbidden love between step-siblings. I love that they are in University which gave the story more of a F4 Vibe to it since they are youth and it is depicted very well into the story. It delves into the insecurities of growing up, not really knowing who you want to be. ML is brash, cold, ruthless, hot-tempered and secretly in love with his beautiful innocent step-sister who always tends to his wounds and who refuses to back away whenever he tries to chase her away. FL always watches and longs for her step-brother`s affection and friendship, not understanding why he is so cold and mean to her and the way he is careless with his own life.

They are of course drawn to each other, ML does not have it in his heart anymore to chase her away, how can he, when she always was the sole owner of his heart. The actor by the way is so handsome he made my heart beat faster, i am tellin youuu! My first time watching him on-screen, wow the charisma he has! Raw and deep and gorgeous!!Their bond...the absolute honesty they conveyed for each other, they had eyes for no other but each other and everyone around them realized that but them. Ah, The Wonder of First True Love. Isn`t it Magical!!!

short but realistic

This was a different watch than what I am used to.

At first the misunderstandings made me feel quite uneasy and unnecesary. Then I realised, that's actually kinda realistic and didn't feel too blown out of proportion. The portrayal of emotions is raw and easy to relate to.

The show is nothing too special, but has a nice real feeling at the end for me.
It's worth a look, but for me not a rewatch.

Typhoon Family- hooked up on it!!!

I was looking for a series which had both serious plot and of course rom-com. Found this! Typhoon family-both the casts FL and ML both portrayed their roles to the best it could be. And seriously loving the chemistry between them already.
Waiting for it to be aired quickly, I can't even wait for the 5th and 6th episode to drop.
Totally worth watching and totally hooked up on it.
I will give it a 10!
Loved every scene till now and, waiting for more!
Both the leads are cute together and this series tells you how to cope up with the worst situation.

2nd half really dragged...

first few episodes I was like "man I wonder how this relationship will ever even turn into a romance, let alone naturally." despite their extreme initial "enemies" relationship, they did a great job moving it towards romance. Also the main leads had pretty good chemistry.

It's so hard to remember their names, but basically the 2nd ml(??)-- his facial acting was really good at times, but his hands were always distractingly awkward. And I was very confused what direction they were going with his character. It kept looking like he was looking at the ML's sister with some degree of longing which I don't think he was supposed to lol. And then HIS brother somehow becoming a sympathetic character?? idek man. I guess the point was everyone is complicated and no one is good, but it made the established morals frustrating.
the ML can kill everyone for revenge, but the 2nd ML can't?? sure there were other nuances (like getting civilians involved) but there were points where they're arguing and I'm like "... lowkey they doing the same thing tho" lol.

2nd half the couple's relationship suddenly got boring and felt almost on the backburner. they were together but every conversation was the same--- "I'll always be with you no matter what bla bla." They almost had something interesting with the ML going blind or forgetting her (2nd one is a trope I hate but it would have been interesting), but both of those are pretty much resolved in the same episode.
bro imagine if he was blind for like 3 episodes and somehow managed to still have mad fighting skills. that would have looked so cool! but nah, everything has an easy quick fix for the main couple. at least they had a good ending ig.

meanwhile they did my girl the princess dirtyyyy.... I got way more invested in her story just for it to kind of have a crappy ending. I guess I just wanted this drama to decide if it wanted to be a stupid enemies to lovers plot or actually say something about the human condition, and it just didnt do a good job at trying to do both bc I got whiplash...

Realistic look on a long term relationship.

The story is very realistic, it shows what happens after a couple is together for a long time. You forget to make a big effort, taking the other for granted or just are too busy to notice. These are things that just sneak in when you are together for so long. That does not mean the love is not there anymore. Sometimes you just have to come to the realisation in a hard way, to remember what you are about to loose.

The music is beautiful and te visuals good.
These are very strong actors, i really felt every emotion they showed. And the chemistry is amazing. I hope to see a longer drama with them together in the future.

Definatly a must watch!

A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

I must confess that I knew nothing, and I mean nothing, about the world of Omegaverse especially as it pertains to the BL genre. I found, overall, this diegesis confusing and the dynamics of the plot messy, empty, and frankly hard to follow. However, that is not the only reason why I so intensely disliked this series. It is a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’, which I detested even more. Whether one likes to admit it or not, this story is filled with pervasive ugly bullying, abuse of all various kinds, toxic masculinity, rape, rampant sociopathic personality disorders, over-the-top arrogance, and perceived entitled overindulgence. Why is all this not seen? Because of the stunningly handsome men who sugar-coat it with wit, charm, astonishing good-looks (eye-candy), and persuasive discourse. In a sense, these super-rich guys can do no wrong for the sole reason being the status of who and what they are. If this series had been portrayed with other than handsome men (e.g. pot-bellied, acned-faced, balding with missing teeth middle-aged guys instead), what would our reaction be?

(Good) Light On series is back!

The Hunt (2025) kinda saves the Light On series for me after a string of mediocre ones. Brilliantly acted by the main leads - Li Gengxi, Bai Yufan, Huang Xuan keep up their great portfolio. The drama is a cautionary tale of love, death, and injustice. Some Some parts still draggy and the flashbacks could be disorienting but still highly recommended.

Where Action Meets IQ and Heart

It starts with that classic “Wait… what just happened?” feeling , but hang in there, because the plot ties itself together like a clever Möbius loop. Each episode adds another piece of the puzzle, mixing slick fight choreography with moments that actually make you care. There’s romance, but it’s more “battlefield bonding” than “slow-motion staring” -just the right dose to keep things human without turning into a soap opera.

Acting/Cast: The acting? Rock solid. The FL is fierce, smart, and doesn’t need rescuing; the ML has brains and biceps (finally, both in one package 🙌). Together they pull off trust, tension, and teamwork like seasoned pros. Their emotional beats land perfectly... not too heavy, not too hollow, just right. And the supporting team? Absolute gold. Every mission feels like a group project where everyone actually did their part.

Chemistry: It’s not fireworks , it’s fusion. Their trust builds fast, their banter is natural, and you just believe they’d take a bullet for each other. Less “Will they, won’t they?” and more “They already did, and they didn’t even need a love confession.” 🔥
Smart fights, not just loud ones. Every move has strategy ...and a twist, it’s less “explode everything” and more “use your brain, then explode everything.” The pacing keeps you alert, and there’s always a twist waiting around the corner (sometimes two).

Rewatch Value: High. Once you know how the story loops, you’ll want to go back and spot the clues you missed. Plus, it’s fun watching the team click like clockwork again.

Final Thoughts: Mobius is that rare gem, action with emotion, intellect with instinct, and a team dynamic you’ll genuinely root for. It doesn’t just spin the wheel, it drives it full speed. If loyalty, logic, and low-key love are your thing, buckle up. This ride’s got heart, heat, and heroics in perfect balance. 💥

Overall: 9/10: A sharp, twisty action drama with real brains, bursts of emotion, and teamwork so good it makes the Avengers look like interns.

Unrealistic imho...

When you are seven years together, I don't get it, that you have not learned to communicate with each other yet. I did not feel really engaged with the story because for me it was unbelievable. I just don't get it, that they had the problem not much much earlier in their relationsship... Imho when you do not communicate your grievances a relationsship is not a relationsship, it's living parallel to each other not with each other.

I can't fault the actors and even the production quality is decent for such a low budget show. It's ok to binge-watch this and maybe you get more out of it, but for me it was just average, not really bad, but the story made not much sense for me.

Too Raw, Too Deep, Too Emotional

This drama took me on a complete roller coaster of emotions. One moment I was laughing, the next I was crying. It felt so real, like I was watching what life truly looks like for some people.

I saw the characters fight for love, for stability, and for each other. They were so young, yet faced struggles that tested their strength and commitment in ways that felt painfully realistic.

As their story unfolded, I found myself reflecting on family, sacrifice, and how easily people can misunderstand each other. Every scene carried such raw emotion that it stayed with me long after each episode ended.

One particular moment about family dynamics really broke me , the emotions were so genuine that I could feel the character’s pain through the screen.

The ending left me completely shattered, yet it felt honest and true to the story’s tone from beginning to end.

I’ve honestly never seen a drama like this before. Huge kudos to the actors, directors, and everyone involved. Every performance felt authentic, every moment heartfelt. They truly brought this story to life.

Sooo bad!

Oh wow, The luminous solution wasn't very good, but this is just really bad!
The acting isn't very good, Especially Nix was really bad! There was no chemistry between the leads.

The music was good, but the overall sound was bad.
Visuals were good.

Mistakes in filming: ep. 3 the boy has a full drink, a female customer comes in, suddenly his cup is almost empty and the next shot his cup is full again… Then he has the snack in front of him just a little part eaten, and one second later the whole snack is gone.
The last episode is a mess, and is just very weird.

This is not worth the watch.

Dark, Haunting, and Unforgettable: A Unique Start to Mystique in the Mirror

I was completely lost during the first ten minutes, so I had to pause and read the plot summary. That was the best decision I made because everything made so much more sense afterward. My biggest tip for anyone starting this series is to read the synopsis first. It doesn’t spoil anything, but it gives you the right context to understand Alan and what’s actually happening.

This is the first time I’ve seen Tou in a leading role, and his performance as Alan absolutely blew me away. He’s intense and expressive, showing fear, confusion, and raw emotion with every scene. There’s one shower scene that stood out not just for his perfect physique but for how terrifying it felt because of the mirror. The combination of vulnerability and fear was brilliant.

Pentor as Win finally got his time to shine after acting in so many supporting roles, finally got a main role in this series, and even though he only appeared briefly, I could already feel the chemistry between him and Tou. It’s a pairing I didn’t expect to work this well, but it does.

The series opens with a dark, chilling atmosphere that immediately pulls you in. The haunting score, eerie visuals, and strong cinematography create a sense of unease that doesn’t let go. It’s intense, psychological, and slightly terrifying.

This is my first BL with a visual hallucination and mental hospital setting, and I love how different it feels from the usual light, fluffy stories.

I genuinely don’t recommend watching this alone at night like I did because it left me staring nervously at my own mirror afterward. But despite the fear, I’m completely hooked.

For anyone who felt lost after watching the first few episodes like I did, don’t give up or judge it too quickly. The confusion is part of the experience, not a flaw. If everything were explained right away, the mystery and tension that make this genre so captivating would disappear. Mystique in the Mirror is meant to leave you questioning and uneasy, that’s what makes it so intriguing. Personally, I thought this series was executed really well and perfectly captured the tone of a true psychological BL.

Time travel drama.....with a twist.

I really enjoyed watching this drama. Unlike many time travel dramas ,the FL time traveled with her entire family, and they decided to stay in that time period.
Great chemistry between the FL and ML.
Li Yun Rui is not just a handsome face, his acting has definitely progressed with each drama.
I enjoyed the quirky personalities of her family and how they all cared for each other.
When the ML found out who was behind his parents deaths, I had mixed emotions due to the fact that despite having murdered his family he took him in and actually cared for him like a son.
The romance between the ML and FL was very slow burn, but name a Chinese drama where they don't kiss for the first time after episode 25! But at least in this drama, the FL had a reason why she kept rejecting the ML.

So many people did not like the ending. I didn't mind it and here's why....
It was heart wrenching that they finally got together and the FL and her family realize that this is the point where according to history they die. The unexpected part is that we continue to see what the ML goes through once they are gone, it was so sad!! But it made me think of how in real life, went we visit historical places, I realize that I am walking into a place that used to be someones home, but their memories and existence are forgotten. Man the tears came flowing.

Now in present day the FL is the only one who remembers, so she starts to think that it was all a dream....until the very last scene, she meets the present day ML and he tells her he had a dream about her too.
That to me made all the difference, because if the ML also didn't remember her, then it would feel like it was for nothing, but he did remember her.

a woman's pain

Thinking about this overnight, I found a useful way to frame this. I don't know how many here might be willing to hear it but perhaps a few might.

Even though this is series length (12 episodes x 1 hour), it's very much lakorn. And it does have the multiple connected stories of a lakorn. Most are highly abbreviated and cliched - a royal family of a fictional country, a high ranking family in debt, and so on. But two are so tightly interlinked they've become a single narrative.

So separate out the romance between men and Pin's story for a moment. Don't see Pin's story as just another obstacle for the men. It is much more than that. Consider, for a moment, the role they play in hers.

She is a very young woman with little experience who has somehow managed to maintain a cheerful, optimistic outlook despite her parents. Her fairytale prince turns out to be gay but she's left to discover it on her own and in a cruel way. The day before their wedding. Everyone else is caught up in their own messes and the only person in the world who loves her has betrayed her. It wasn't intentional from him, but Sasin did. Not by falling in love with her prince but by conspiring with the prince to prevent their marriage and keeping her in the dark about it. Excusable perhaps a couple of months before the wedding, but when it's imminent? This is her life they're messing with, she deserved to know and be given a chance to understand and come to terms with it all.

She deserved to be included in the plans, both as their close friend/nong sao and as someone whose life will be directly and significantly influenced by their actions. They're deciding all of this for her.

She acts out of her own pain, struggling to prioritise her own needs - because no one else will. By the time Rachawadee has caught on and tries, Pin isn't in a place where she can hear it - she is young, inexperienced and in more pain than she can grasp, how could it get worse? The older woman's words are there to guide her in understanding when she is.

If this had been written as a full length lakorn, perhaps it would be easier for international BL fans to recognise Pin's story as its own thing. Did many grasp how much of Khun Chaai/To Sir With Love is really about women struggling for agency within the strictures society imposed on them? If that conversation happened, please point me to it.

Even with the short space Pin's story is given, it is well developed. The best in this small lakorn, with some of the best acting and writing. The moments when she cries, when she's juggling both her own pain, the loss of her dream, and her love for her dear cousin, her friend Saenkaew, and her heartfelt wishes for their happiness. That was all so well done. Much appreciation for Perth's delivery.

If you're open to seeing it, this is the beating heart of the lakorn.

If you doubt this, consider for a moment this insight from Inquisitive in the comments - it is the women who get things done while the men complicated it all. Over and over again.

To be frank, the romance between the men was overloaded with cliches. There is better BL and there are better lakorn romances, perhaps it is the combination of the emotional intensity of lakorns with BL which has so many enamoured with it? Or maybe it's just that they hit the right notes for soft focus women's romantic fantasies well enough? It was good, but superlative? Not for me. Peak is an excellent actor of course, when the director allows, and Pearl has enough charisma to power the entire cast of a uni BL. That carried a lot.

I've rated story and acting lower than many will like because the first half is sub-par. Which has to be on the director, with that many experienced actors performing under their abilities. Fortunately it picks up in the latter half. I'd rate higher for that but I can't ignore the beginning.

If you're heading to smash the NO button, may I invite you to set that reaction aside for a moment to mull over this different point of view for a wee while. It's not the norm for international BL fans but it is very much in keeping with the way Thai lakorns do things and it is absolutely right there in this lakorn for those who are open to seeing it.

There are two central stories here - one is a romantic fantasy between men. The other is about a young woman's pain and her journey through it. She deserves a moment amongst all the adulation for the men to have that recognised.

Even if, especially since, BL too often tells us that women should take a back seat to the men and prioritise their happiness, finding our own in theirs. We matter too.
