I dont like so much
Unfortunately, this second season didn’t work for me. I do understand that, being a second season, much of the spontaneity and surprise has been lost. But the story feels like we’re watching a mafia movie — Scorsese meets Francis Ford Coppola. There's almost nothing left of the school-life setting. Some actors, whose characters are supposed to be in school, look nearly 35 years old, which also pulled me out of the experience. There are lots of random fights involving characters we often don’t know or care about. I felt the main character from the first season was very sidelined in the story — it seems like the real protagonist role shifted to Baku. By the way, who is Baku? I don’t know. What’s his relationship with Baek-Jin? I don’t know that either. I found it very tiring to watch. Was this review helpful to you?

Sensational!
It took a long time but it was worth it. The cast and characters are well suited. It really has a family effect. It's intense and has a continuous rhythm. Congratulations to everyone involved! Especially the chemistry of the main couple is incredible! SongZuer is incredible as always! Ning is also acting very well! Was this review helpful to you?

Underwhelming
Why on earth would one want to make a series with not even a half-cooked script...beats me.....It seems like they just put together some trope scenes and thought it will suffice....maybe this could just work as a comic strip/manhwa, but as a live action show- NO.BL-needle score: 8. Reasonably high BL-ness
Nothing much to write, the casting, the dialogues, the script, everything seems half-hearted and pointless. Even with a 8 minute length, or 13 minute (episode 3) it's a drag. Why waste so much effort and money...I wonder!!! My verdict - Nah, don't waste your time.

"Trapped by Fate, Freed by Love — A Story That Hurts, Heals, and Captures the Soul"
I’m currently watching The Prisoner of Beauty, and though it’s still airing, I can already feel it becoming one of those rare dramas that lives quietly in your heart forever—softly, deeply, and endlessly. This drama is not just a historical romance—it’s a storm of emotions wrapped in silence, longing, and destiny. With every episode, I find myself falling deeper into its world, where love doesn’t arrive with flowers, but with fire—the kind that scorches, but also warms you to your soul.
Xiao Qiao, the female lead, is like a delicate flame—soft on the surface, but burning with quiet, unshakable strength inside. She's not just a pawn in a political game—she’s a warrior of the heart. Watching her stand tall despite heartbreak, fear, and betrayal… it fills me with courage. Her eyes speak what her lips can’t. Her silence is louder than a thousand words—and somehow, even more moving.
Wei Shao, the male lead, is like winter—frozen outside but holding a storm of emotions within. He’s a general who knows how to win wars, but not hearts. Yet somewhere between his sharp words and cold stares, I see a man aching to love and be loved. His pain is hidden in discipline, his kindness disguised as duty. But when he begins to soften, it’s not just Xiao Qiao who feels it—we, the viewers, do too. And we ache with him.
Their relationship is everything I never knew I needed—a slow-burn symphony of stolen glances, hushed hopes, and aching silences. There are no dramatic confessions, no perfect moments—just two broken souls finding shelter in each other.
What makes this drama so special to me?
It’s not just about love—it’s about survival, trust, and healing.
It’s about a girl who refuses to be a victim, and a man who learns how to protect without controlling.
It’s about fighting the world, and still choosing to hold hands in the dark.
Every scene, every line, every glance feels like poetry wrapped in pain. The cinematography? Breathtaking. The music? A ghost that lingers. And the emotions? They quietly tear you apart and put you back together—again and again.
Even though the story isn’t over yet, I already know—I’m watching something unforgettable.
The Prisoner of Beauty is a reminder that even in the most hopeless cages, beauty can bloom, and love can still find a way. This drama isn’t just keeping me hooked—it’s helping me believe that softness is strength, and that even in silence, love speaks the loudest.
I’m not just watching a drama.
I’m living a story.
And my heart is its prisoner—willingly, completely, beautifully.
Also, this is my first time watching a costume drama after Love in the Pavilion, which I’ve currently put on hold—but The Prisoner of Beauty has completely stolen my attention. I’m savoring every second of it, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
Now that the drama has ended, I can finally say this: it was worth every heartbeat.
The final episodes broke me and healed me in ways I didn’t expect. The way the story wrapped up—bittersweet, yet meaningful—felt true to the journey these characters had walked. Xiao Qiao remained as brave and graceful as ever, and Wei Shao’s transformation was one of the most beautiful character arcs I’ve ever seen. The ending didn’t give me a perfect fairytale, but it gave me something more precious: peace. Closure that didn’t erase the pain, but honored it.
Some stories stay with you because they entertain.
This one stays because it changed me.
The Prisoner of Beauty will always be more than just a drama—it’s a feeling I’ll carry with me, like a quiet ache, a soft memory, a reminder that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

TOP FORM IS JUST TOP FORM...
I WOULD LIKE TO FIRST MENTION I AM NOT A BL FAN . HONESTY SPEAKING WHENEVER I WATCHED A BL SERIES SEEING THEM KISSING WOULD MAKE ME WANT TO THROW UP BECAUSE IN OUR SOCIETY MOST OF THE PEOPLE SEE GAY PEOPLE WITH BAD THOUGHTS . SO , AT FIRST I DECIDED NOT TO WATCH IT . BUT, ACCIDENTLY BROWSING I FOUND IT'S TRAILER WATCHING IT KIND OF GENERATED CUROSITY IN ME , SO I STARTED WATCHING IT RELUCTANTLY. BUT NOW I AM COMPLETY OBSESSED BY IT ,THAT IT MADE ME WRITE FIRST REVIEW OF MY LIFE.HERE ARE FIEW THING THAT MADE ME FALL FOR THIS SERIES:
1. AKIN'S DEEP PASSION FOR PERFECTION IN HIS WORK AND JINS UNDYING LOVE AND SUPPORT FOR AKIN REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANTES, EVEN IF SOMETIMES THEY BROKE UP IT MADE THIER RELATIONSHIP MORE ROBUST.
2. AKIN'S FORGIVENESS AND GENTLE ATTITUDE TOWARDS OTHERS.
3.AKIN'S GRANDMA'S DEEP BELIEF IN AKINTHAT BOUGHT HIM TO SUCH HIGHT.
4. SERIES WAS PRECISE AND TO THE POINT.
5.EVERY EMOTION CONVEYED IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY.

Beyond the Tropes: A Drama That Dared to Be Different
THE POSITIVE:This is the drama that tried to bring out untold narratives, like the behind-the-scenes realities of the modeling industry, which, for me, was a refreshing first. It dared to step away from the overused “boy meets girl” formula, offering something different and grounded.
The Cinematography, thoughtful casting, sharp editing, background music, and scriptwriting—all of these shaped this drama, and it made it one of my favorites
The leads may have taken their time to come together, and their beginning was far from perfect, but once they did, it was pure fireworks. Their bond felt genuine, rooted in mutual support and a shared determination to stay together, no matter what.
I’m genuinely grateful to the drama gods for sparing us the usual round of unnecessary breakups and overblown misunderstandings.
These two were solid, especially impressive considering the male lead’s more reserved demeanor, shaped by his humble background.
What stood out most was their banter. He wasn’t afraid to call her out, something she clearly wasn’t used to.It was refreshing, and necessary, for her to finally meet someone who could challenge her. And in that clash, their chemistry truly came alive.
THE NOT SO POSITIVE: THE SIDE CHARACTERS
Despite its charm, Wanna Be felt like it was missing something essential. It was a rare attempt at breaking away from the usual tropes but somehow the writer snoozed off and missed plenty of opportunities.
She had plenty of material to develop, especially with the storyline around the abandoned/fired models who ended up wasting away in a that "Venting club" drinking their sorrows away.Where is the redemption story? That subplot had potential, and at the very least.
The female lead's journey as a designer was barely touched—just one sketching scene and suddenly, a full-blown fashion show? It lacked depth.
I personally feel like the auntie’s implausible romance with the second male lead consumed too much screen time. That time could’ve been far better spent developing other subplots or characters
That being said, I’ve concluded that this drama will be enjoyable if you are seeking something beyond the usual formula and its fresh perspective, combined with thoughtful production and attention to detail, makes it stand out.

Weird show, but it had its charm.
The show was kind of weird and honestly a bit boring at times. That whole teacher-student relationship was a big no from me.But it wasn’t all bad! Here’s what kept me watching:
1. The comedy had its moments and actually made me laugh.
2. The FL’s inner princess and her three dramatic male attendants(?) were hilarious and totally gave us what she was really feeling in a hilarious way.
3. Yaoyi, the second female lead, was great. I liked her a lot and her relationship with Shinri had some really nice development.
4. There were some super cute moments here and there.
5. The cast was very easy on the eyes.
6. The ending was sweet and cute.
7. And I appreciated the little touches of friendship throughout.
Overall I wouldn't recommend , but don't regret watching either. And probably forget about it in no time.

Dear Hongrang, thank you for coming!
The SHOW I WAS WAITING for so LONG, CAME and TOOK a PIECE of MY SOUL.I was hoping that the long wait would not be in vain, but the show exceeded all my expectations. I never thought that a historical series could captivate me to such a way. I simply couldn't stop watching it. It held my attention the whole time, I didn't find it boring for a single moment, and there were no insignificant, time-consuming scenes in terms of the story. The story depicts difficult and painful events and situations, but all of this was brought to the screen with unusual courage and even more tasteful and beautiful.
The beautiful and heartbreaking love story, we can feel the pain and joy of the young lovers with difficult fates, how they become each other's shelters. A great story about two people, who have nothing but hope, only pain and suffering all around them, yet they fight with their overwhelming and sincere love. The purest love, when you have no one but the person you love, but you don't need anything more, it gives you enough strength for everything, it brings you back to life. Nothing can end this, not even death, because Hongrang is always watching over Jae I. The scenes between FML and ML were beautifully depicted. There were chemistry, tension and passion on the screen.
The fight scenes turned out quite well, I liked that these scenes weren't always moderated, they used effects and colors boldly, and showed everything that was needed.
This was a well-assembled production, with lot of heartbreaking, thrilling scenes and sad, but delightful ending. The last part couldn't be avoided without tears, but from the beginning we could know, what awaits Hongrang, I have rarely seen a more beautiful depiction of the "final farewell". Brilliant implementing.
The last scene was an excellent ending of the story. I am totally under a spell, I am completely captivated by the story.
The OST was amazing , it was a hit!
We could pick holes in it but I don't want to and I don't care about them at all.
Thanks to the production team and all the cast members for this amazing drama!
The world has become a little better place with this show.

They reunite after three years...
and this time ML does everything to win back her heart. Even though it actually was her that broke up with him in the past. They have made several versions out of this plot and i have watched four of them now. They all start in the same way with FL driving a car with her fiance SML makes out with her cousin in the backseat, a car drives forward in front of them, and in that car we see the very alluring ML come out, the tension is always clear and instant between the mainleads as soon as they gaze at each other. Then their love-story moves forward. ML is smitten and so devoted, with a slight dark edge to him. Ke Chun is a marvelous actor and he is best at what he does, his eyes can tell you a whole story. I prefer the other versions as whole, but Ke Chun is a winner by himself as well. Was this review helpful to you?

More Abs Than Depth!
It seemed fun at first, and the leads are definitely easy on the eyes—especially the male lead, who spends a good chunk of the series shirtless. The storyline is pretty predictable: a model male lead and a manager female lead. Still, I’ll give it credit for the comedy, which was actually pretty good, and bonus points for the actors being able to speak fluent English when needed. But beyond that, the plot falls apart—and so do the characters. The female lead is basically a doormat. She’s overly kind and constantly gets taken advantage of throughout the series. The male lead, on the other hand, is just... a jerk. I get that he has a tragic backstory or trauma, but that doesn’t excuse his behavior. He avoids the two other girls who keep throwing themselves at him, but still gives off mixed signals, like he kind of lets it happen sometimes.
A lot of the drama could’ve been avoided. I know he’s a model and needs to stay professional, but come on—set some boundaries. Meanwhile, the female lead is loyal and never swayed, and it just feels unfair. This series may look light and fluffy on the surface, but underneath it’s really just a toxic relationship disguised as romance.

AI revolution?
I really enjoyed this program, but you really have to leave your imagination at the door. Asimov this is NOT, but instead it seemed more of a propaganda piece from our future AI overlords. AI, robotics, autonomous industry and deep learning companies must be paying for stories like this, because it will tick every box in order to get humans on board with this in your homes. That all being said suspend that belief and accept the technothriller base and it is a rather enjoyable series. 🤖

A tale of two shows
Please allow me to set the scene. My Fated Boy (MFB) is my all-time favourite romance drama. I was excited when I found out the same writer penned this show.Rather than just writing a review of Wanna Be, I shall contrast it with MFB because I think the comparison is illustrative.
Let us begin at the beginning. Both shows are very focused on the romance of our leads. I'm thankful for the consistency. Both relationships took a bit of effort to get going and the meet-cute are poles apart but once it happens, their love is rock solid and unshakable. It is not all plain sailing but at least there are no silly breakups. Now, let's talk about where the shows diverged.
MFB is relatable. Even though the ML eventually became moderately famous, his focus is always on his noona. Their little exchanges are cute and swoonworthy. We can focused on their romance with minimal distractions. We can laugh and cry with them. They are like us. The classic scene in EP.28 when the FL found out she has a white hair and their subsequent conversation about growing old together is grounded and heartfelt. Swoon!
On the other hand, Wanna Be was set in the rarefied world of super models and the fashion industry. Yes, the writer didn’t take it to the extreme and most characters are quite “normal” but is this realistic? It feels almost too clinical. Playing it safe, so to speak. It is a double-edged sword.
I can sense the writer wanting the characters to be relatable hence the ML works as a fishmonger. However, when you mix everything together, the world building feels stilted. It is real . . and not real. Of course, this happens a lot in the dramaverse, it is a necessity. When it works, we get an impactful and engrossing world, but here, it feels derivative and bland. There are glimpses into that rarefied world but they are insubstantial.
This extends to the support characters and secondary plots. As I mentioned before, MFB has a relatively small cast. Everyone knows everyone else. Even secondary characters are interesting and their relationships are relevant. I do feel that the writer tries to be more ambitious with WB. That is totally understandable and a worthy goal.
While the smaller cast helps MFB, the larger roster was a hindrance to WB. To keep them all gainfully employed, there are more side plots which took the focus away from the OTP. Many of these subplots are tropey and feels like smoke and mirrors. It is telling that there are no villains . . . just misunderstandings.
Don't get me wrong, whenever our leads are together, we swoon. What is lacking are other viable CP’s. Even after 29 eps, both 2/3CP remain ambiguous. To be honest, I don't ship them. There is little chemistry between any of them. It is particularly stark when compared to the OTP's. Speaking of which, there is a 3.5hrs OTP romance cut on YouTube. Say no more!
In the end, Wanna Be is watchable and a solid production. I just don't feel fully engaged. It is one of those show that ebbs and flows depending on who is on screen. There are wasted opportunities with subplots as we are delivered a harmless ending.
I still loved the OTP’s journey and their growth. I did have high hopes, my bad. The DNA is there but it mutated and not in a good way. I can happily rewatch the highlight reel and maybe the last episode. Peace.

lovely runner ??♀️
Where do I even begin?!This drama SLAPS SO HARD. It's not just about a girl going back to the past to save her idol — it's about finding true love across timelines, about sacrifice, fate, and never-ending devotion. 🥲
The Heart of the Story:
She didn't just save her idol — she found her love. And what hits the hardest?
Both Sol and Sunjae sacrificed their lives for each other — again and again.
Like seriously…
Which guy would love you in every timeline?
Which guy would willingly give up his life for you?
YOU TELL ME. WHO?!
Sunjae is such a loser for Sol — and I mean that in the most heart-fluttering, swoon-worthy way possible. 🫢
Where do I find someone like him?!
No matter how hard Sol tried to avoid him, fate brought them back together — every. single. time.
✨ Themes That Hit Deep:
This drama beautifully explores:
How fate is inevitable — even if you run from it, the ones meant for you will return.
The cost of love — Sol carried so much pain just to protect Sunjae.
The idea of memory and love — what do you choose: to remember and hurt, or to forget and be at peace?
💬 Best Quotes:
“Was it my memory that I lost? Or was it you?”
“Was there such a thing like predetermined fate? Something we can’t change? If there is, then my fate is that we fall in love in every timeline we meet. Sol-ah, I love you.”
🎶 Best OSTs:
Run Run – ECLIPSE
You & I – ECLIPSE
Sudden Shower – ECLIPSE
No Fate – ECLIPSE
Spring Snow – 10cm
Gift – Ha Sung Woon
Final Thoughts:
Lovely Runner is more than a time-slip romance — it’s a story about love that endures through pain, time, and fate.
They always find each other.

Twenty-Five, Twenty-One ?
Gosh... I cried so much, especially during the final episode. From the start, middle, to the end — I was in full breakdown mode. Buckets of tears. The next day? Still sad. It literally felt like I had just gone through a breakup.
“In order for a breakup to be sad, you need to be in love.” — Baek Yi Jin
That line... it hit hard.
💔 Life Lessons This Drama Taught Me:
First love doesn’t always last — but the memories will stay forever.
Turn tragedy into comedy so you can find a way to move forward.
🫶 What I Loved Most:
The relationship between Na Hee Do and Baek Yi Jin was beautiful — the support, the longing, the pure passion between them. Their love shaped who they became. That kind of support? It brought them to the peak of their careers.
Even though they didn’t end up together, you can feel how deeply they loved one another. They moved on... but their memories stayed.
🎶 OST, Cinematography, and Direction:
STUNNING.
Some favourites OST:
Your Existence
Very Slowly
Stardust Love
Your World
🎭 The Acting:
Nam Joo Hyuk — wow. He has grown so much since School 2015.
That crying scene with the shoelace? When he cried, I cried.
Kim Tae Ri — always phenomenal. I already knew she was amazing from Mr. Sunshine, but here?? She nailed every stage of Hee Do's growth — from 18 to 29.
✨ Noteworthy Episodes:
Ep 5 ending — voice calls at the phone booth, snow falling, silent support 🥹
Ep 9 — Baek Yi Jin’s confession... my heart couldn’t handle it
Ep 15 — their passionate love 🥲
Ep 16 — a crying mess. That’s all I’ll say.
Final Thoughts:
Twenty-Five, Twenty-One 🤺 was painful, beautiful, bittersweet, and unforgettable.
