this will be a short review, after Top Form (at least for me) Wetv has been doing its thing...this has the potential to blow up. after two episodes I'm liking it so far and the chemistry is definitely there, with actors im not quite familiar with, they're definitely not lacking in the acting/chemistry department, but also an experienced boxing and muay thai athlete?! you cannot mess this up.....so keep this up wetv and I'm definitely coming back with probably an even better/detailed review. no mess up here!!!

masterpiece

this historical drama is the best one i’ve seen in years on netflix. the plot twists had me on the edge of my seat. action scenes were sick! cho boah’s acting blew me away. jaewook shined in this role. amazing chemistry between the leads. the romance was deep and touching, it made us yearn and suffer and cry.

Only needed more time at it's climax

My heart really couldn't handle the last few episodes. This is very dark and not for the fainthearted, but it's an absolute mindblowing cinematic experience, the likes of which I haven't seen in any historical dramas so far. All the filming locations and sets are brilliantly made, and I found the writing of the main story incredible unique and real. Action sequences are incredibly refined and well made. The story was as fleshed out as it could get albeit 11 episodes is definitely NOT ENOUGH, cause they really had to reveal a lot of heavy and disturbing information in chunks near the end. Why can't kdramas be 16 episodes if they have enough content for it??? I don't like how kdramas are getting only 8 or so episodes now when they need more. Even 11 was not enough!

Now for the OST, it is an absolute masterpiece and something I will never be able to forget. Both the ballad and the OST in the action scenes (sounds really south-asian like) are just masterpieces that need to be recognized, and they are incorporated in the best way possible without taking away from certain scenes by being too loud or unfitting (huge pet peeve of mine). They really enhance the scenes and draw out the emotions they want to. My my biggest positive about this drama though is that the ACTING IS FANTASTIC OMG, I cannot say enough about everyone's performances. This is SUPER IMPORTANT because I found many scenes to be silent with little dialogue, but the emotions and developments are all there. Just by looking at the actors, you can completely tell what's going on in their minds if they want you to. It gives off a very unique intense lingering feeling that sits with you that I wish more dramas would do, and I have so many actors I am a huge fan of now including LJW, Jo Bo Ah, Jung Ga Rum, Uhm Ji Won, etc! Everyone is perfectly cast and give it their all for their roles. I will be following so many promising actors from now on!

don't let the campy humor distract you from a heartfelt story

In my subjective opinion, this is an adorable drama. Very silly in parts? Yes. Leaning heavily into campy humor tropes? Yes. Sweet meaningful storyline? Also yes.

I particularly enjoyed the ways that the story demonstrates both how language barriers can be difficult, and how they also don't matter sometimes. I really loved the way that the sound and mannerisms of spoken Thai were contrasted with the sound and mannerisms of spoken Korean. This was a unique feeling drama and I will be watching it again in the future.

CONTENT WARNINGS: domestic violence, some non-consensual intimate contact, verbal and physical violence toward a queer person

Why Thamepo Feels So Real

Thamepo had me hooked right from the start. I really liked how they showed Po’s real-life struggles, especially how hard it was for him to find a job. It felt super realistic, and I think a lot of people can relate to that.

Eventually, Po becomes a videographer for a boy band called MARS, and that’s where he meets Thame, the group’s leader. There’s definitely some tension between them at first, which made things even more interesting.

WillEast (Thame and Po) have undeniable chemistry. Their acting is on point especially for actors who don’t get as much attention as they deserve. They’re great at expressing emotions, even through just subtle looks or actions.

For me, Thamepo stands out as a more realistic take on BL set in the idol industry. Thame might seem cold at first, but as the story goes on, you realize he’s actually a major green flag.

Jun’s character is kind of confusing, but in a good way—it adds some extra spice to the plot. The cinematography is also really well done, and I love how the relationship between Thame and Po slowly builds over time.

Overall, I found Thamepo touching, heartwarming, and well-written. It’s definitely worth watching.

My number one, as well.

Wow, I din't really expect the story, it makes me want to read the novel. Everything is unpredictable and I love how everything turns out. This is the most unique BL I've seen, such a strong entry, I can say.

The casting were good and the emotions were delivered well. I was kinda confused at first because from the site I've watched, It says "Koichi is indeed alive" but unfortunately, he was not. I love how he was taking what was given to him which kept him alive, that alone says a lot.

I was really afraid as I get to the last episode because I already feel that he will be gone. That last episode makes me crying for minutes and that was such a good cry. This was the first time I never wished for a sequel. That ending was perfect and I can live on that. I hope Micchan would love Koichi until his last breath.

Nevertheless, This was a real top tier, I will never stop looking for the novel.

Exiled but Not Defeated: A New Chapter in Justice and Loyalty

The sequel picks up where the prequel left off—with both the Grand Princess and the Crown Prince deeply displeased with Su Wu Ming and Lu Ling Feng. Though the pair had cracked one of the greatest crimes of their time, their pursuit of truth had not served the political interests of either faction. As a result, Lu Ling Feng was banished to the remote western frontier as Chief Sheriff. While Su Wu Ming, after taking a bold and risky approach to craftily reveal the secret connection between Lu and the Grand Princess, incurred the Crown Prince's wrath. He was stripped of all official titles and exiled from the capital.

Forced to part ways, the two men left the capital separately—only for their paths to cross once more. On the surface, Su Wu Ming’s actions appeared to betray Lu Ling Feng. But Lu trusted that Su had acted with honourable purpose. Rather than turn him away, Lu welcomed Su as his advisor in his new post in the West.

No sooner had they arrived than they were confronted with a new mystery: civilians had been vanishing without a trace. True to form, the duo dived into the investigation, only to uncover yet another wide-reaching conspiracy.

As with the first series, the storytelling was gripping, the mystery layered, and the pacing well-handled. The culprit was not easy to guess, and the twists kept me engaged. I continue to rate this series highly. That said, I did find that some of the subplots in this sequel stretched credibility more than those in the original. So, while still excellent, I would deduct half a point for that. Still, it is a worthy continuation, and I remain eagerly invested in where the story will go in the next sequel yet to be released.

Intriguing take on "sisters swapping husbands" trope

This drama delivers an intriguing take on the classic "sisters swapping husbands" trope, set against the backdrop of the 1980s. What makes this particular version stand out is its refreshing departure from the usual formula—it avoids the presence of an overbearing second female villain (2nd FV) who clings to the male lead (ML). In other adaptations, the ML's contradictory nature is frustrating: he distrusts the female lead (FL), believing she schemed to marry into a wealthy family, yet he remains oblivious to the manipulations of the green tea 2nd FV. Often, it takes another family member to point out his cluelessness, or the 2nd FV must fully embrace her villainous side before he finally realizes the truth.

Another compelling aspect of this version is how it delves into the FL’s vampire family dynamics. Here, it’s not just her sister causing problems—her whole family adds to the tension. Additionally, the drama strikes a satisfying balance between romance and personal growth, portraying the FL's journey toward building a fulfilling life. While some versions neglect this aspect, here, the ML truly takes the time to understand her, leading to a genuine love story that feels earned rather than rushed. If you’re looking for a retro drama with engaging twists and emotional depth, this one is definitely worth the watch!

Strangely heavily dubbed!!

The actors are not bad at all, obviously there are some we are quite familiar with & their acting is very good, taking into consideration it's a Thai comedy. I like the story & the characters a lot, direction is good, wardrobe is good. I only really have one big issue & that's with the post filming. There's so much Additional Dialogue, what the heck is going on?? AND that's not Lee Long Shi's voice! In fact all three of the rich brothers seem to have been digitally dubbed over.

I really want to enjoy this series, I'm going to persevere with it & hope I can see it through to the end. I can't listen to the fake voices & random added dialogue & voice noises for long though so the sound is down low. Oy oy oy 🙄

Si Jin

The characters, acting and the plot is excellent. I do recommend it to all of you. The ML is the best, I watched most of his dramas and all of them aren't bad. His acting and facials is unique, you can see how good his acting is. I'm a fan now and forever. I hope he can be with my favorite actresses as well, like Diraba, Zhaolusi, Yang Zi again, Yang Chaoyue, Bailu, Seven Tan and many more. He has the potential to be in big series and movies together with the big names in Celebrity Industry. Do you agree? lovelots

I Almost Skipped This Drama—Now I Cannot Wait for the Next Sequel

This drama sat on my plan-to-watch list for quite some time. I had assumed it was heavy on the supernatural, a genre that does not usually appeal to me, so I kept putting it off. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is actually an ancient detective series, cleverly wrapped in layers of seemingly supernatural occurrences that always turned out to be crimes masked by deception and intricate scheming. The sub-plots were full of surprises.

The story follows Lu Ling Feng, the proud and impulsive Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the imperial capital’s army. Hailing from a noble lineage and a staunch supporter of the Crown Prince, Lu Ling Feng carried himself with confidence—sometimes bordering on arrogance. In contrast, Su Wu Ming came from a humble background but was the prized disciple of the legendary detective Di Ren Jie, who once served under Empress Wu. Su Wu Ming was calm, calculating, and always thinking one step ahead. He was backed by the Grand Princess, the ambitious aunt of the Crown Prince, who dreamed of becoming the next Empress Regnant—just like her mother once did. The Crown Prince and the Grand Princess were political rivals locked in a silent power struggle.

On the surface, Lu Ling Feng and Su Wu Ming seemed destined to clash—each serving opposing factions, each embodying a different temperament. Yet fate tied them together when two seemingly unrelated cases they were working on revealed a shared thread. As they dug deeper, the pair must set aside their differences and rely on each other to unravel a far-reaching conspiracy. Along the way, another secret came to light: Lu Ling Feng and the Grand Princess shared a deeper bond than either of them ever suspected.

What impressed me most was how well the multiple plotlines were woven together. The mystery was layered and unpredictable, and the storytelling was smart and captivating. With an intriguing premise, strong performances by the leads, and a solid supporting cast, this drama exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend it—and rate it very highly.

When I reached the end of the drama, I was thrilled to discover that it had two sequels. The second series had already aired, and I jumped into it right away. The third installment is still in the pipeline, and I sincerely hope it does not get delayed by unnecessary red tape. There have been rumours that a new regulation requires at least a one-year gap before sequels can be released—that feels far too long. Even a six-month wait would be frustrating. Ideally, I hope to see sequels released within three months of the previous season. That kind of continuity keeps the momentum alive and the audience fully engaged.

This drama is according to me one of the best i have seen

My review is of two parts
Ep1-29:
The story is ppl from opposite sides falling in love.I really liked that the fl knew the ml from her childhood and wanted to be with him. And the ml did start to love her very much. This drama is a she fell first but he fell harder. Fl was willing to sacrifice everything in order to protect her (when he was in prison) and fl was ready to sacrifice her life to prove to the world that the ml was a good man. The ml was endangering his life to find the lotus seeds when fl forgot abt him
Ep 29-36
I didnt expect the thousand years thing i really wished it didnt happen as the story between mu xuanling and xxc was going very well. Also i see the relationship between fl nd sml as a long term friendship and companionship without love.
The ending
I wanted the ending to be big and mxl to reveal her identity and for the immortal alliance and the trio to team up and fight insted of a sci fi ending but the overall story and the fact that all the villains had a reason was good writing

Jin x Akin got me INFATUATED!

M A S T E R P I E C E.

The chemistry is chemi-ing. The plot is plotting. The act is acting. You got it.

Simply nailed it on every bit, especially that song INFATUATION- hits home each time it plays. A lovely blend of sweetness, laughter, tears. BL with actual depth! Even the NC scenes are so artistic and sexy- it conveys emotions and portrays their relationship! It isn't one of those get naked for the sake of it.

I initially like Akin more but Jin really grew on me over time, especially at his maturity here. What a sweetheart- I definitely can use a JUN in my life, lol

As for Boom, I absolutely adore his acting, especially his crying scenes, it hits hard. Even his NC scenes are good too. He's so hot and talented- where have I been that I've only found him now? I definitely can't wait to see more of his acting.

I'd love a season 2 please...and I'm dying to see wth is LIT?! It's ben a while since I enjoyed a real good BL- Top form delivered just like its name!

Perfection

I. I can't believe real people came together and made this instead of it floating down from the clouds in a heavenly usb drive. I'm going to be listening to Infatuated by Rangga Jones until my ears go. Absolutely insane work.

Flawless. Flawless. I’m so speechless. The acting was phenomenal. The story was phenomenal. The directing was phenomenal. Every shot was beautiful. The feeling was perfect. What are you doing reading reviews? Just go watch it. It’s really that incredible.

Edit:
.... okay it's not flawless. after reading a comment left by user Disappear, I would like to add that there are a couple times where very serious and traumatic events occur and the victim is blamed. It's shocking in the moment, but in retrospect (and maybe also in delusion) I think the lack of a pc resolution of these issues helps to define who these characters (this victim) is and the mindset they're in. Sometimes when shows do picture-perfect jobs addressing these issues it pulls you out of the story and starts feeling like a psa. Regardless, it's not the prettiest, but I don't think it mars the experience.

Top Tier Acting!!!

This was by far one of the best shows I have seen in a really long time. I have not seen this well of acting in years! boom (Akins Character portrayed feelings unlike anyone I have seen. Smart (jin's characte) portrays anger so well so watch out hehe. The way this director, directed this entire masterpiece is unmatched. I wish I could give it a higher rating. the entire soundtrack for this series is amazing it matched every scene so well. I loved every shot that was filmed you could feel the intensity in the scene based on the camera angel or how it followed the actors. To say the least I loved everything about this show. I really don't have anything bad to say. I will truly miss this series!all my love to every single person who worked on this show. thank you for your hard work!! I can't wait to see more.
