As heart-breaking as it can get...I still cry

After a long time now, I am able to write a rational review on this epic drama. No wait... it still gets me... it is the most-heart breaking drama I have watched so far and that still makes me tear up.
Let us start by the beautiful cinematography and production. The landscapes are really amazing and shots really create and enhance the mood of the scenes...
The story is gripping in all its sense, the politics parts relating to the Gao Family, the connivence of the Prince and the Emperor, the journey of the FL...
The OST is just amazingly good... I still listen to it. They really elevate the scenes.
Finally, there is stellar performance of the entire cast, especially of Peng Xiao Ran. She was really good at portraying this young teenage girl who is free-spirited, naughty, naive and sincere in her relationships with her parents, teacher, friend and love of her life. Then, when she goes to Beijing, she slowly transforms into this sad, homesick, crown princess who refuses to be calculating or to play politics. As she starts to mature, she slowly realises that she needs to take a day at a time and seeks distraction in the only bar, a refuge from her dailylife burden. She feels that something is amiss and that that sense of loving or of being loved constantly eludes her. Then, when she discovers the truth, she realises that after all the love, betrayals, politics, she must really rise up to being the princess to her beloved Si Zhou.

IT IS THE MOST HEART-BREAKING DRAMA.

This serial will forever remain very special to me because even now, I feel like crying when I watch any scene. Despite a lot of editing of the serial and quite bad subtitles, the rendition of the cast, especially that of the FL just wrung my heart and my eyes. The FL's performance was exceptional in exploring a naive girl's heart and hope, her discovery of betrayal and the immense pain it brought to her, her sense of doubt and hope for the crown prince's love and rather numb emotions after her friends were killed, when she understood and gave up on her love and finally, when she dedicated herself and her life to her beloved Sizhou. The ML rational mind and steady efforts towards power is also amazing. The SML's regret and melancholy when he realised that he had forever lost her love due to his betrayal, his attempt to redeem himself, his hope that maybe she will start to love him again. The other negative characters' parts in drawing emotions and in elevating the whole story all contributed to making this series painfully addictive. The director's role in staying true to the mood of each part of the serial is just mind-blowing. Honestly, I will forever love this Tv serial.

Bring back my sanity Xiao2x couple ??

I fell in love with the two main characters ,I can't move on.their great portrayals put me on edge. The acting is superb, the beautiful scenery and the crazy story put in awe.
But the ending broke me.I was broken.I lost my mind,I lost my appetite,I had gone insane,I don't know what to do with my life anymore....

This drama affected me so much...I incurred real pain. A self-inflicted suffering in myself.

I pinched my heart with every painful scene and my heart jumped with excitement and laughter when the two leads were happy.Their happy voices echoed in my mind,I told you they robbed my sanity.

I am someone who doesn't get easily attached but this, I invested my time, my tears and enjoyed every "beautiful scene" and most of all the lessons that I got for every character are something that I burried deep inside my heart. To say it is best is not enough. The change of the characters of Xiao Wu and Xiao Feng, how their facial expressions changed from happy to gloomy, how their voices changed from funny to serious. woahhh I love them. They are more than best, the way they carry their characters not to mention their incredible dashing faces.
The drama:
depicted the reality, a messy decision making, a hunger for power, a weakness of the heart. You could see in this drama, that women are tools of men, the young ones are the tools of the old ones and the old ones are the slave of revenge. Though the ending is sad, it should be the ending though I want Xiao Feng to see happy with the man she loved, but it didn't happen but then again the ending should be like this. I remember the episode where Xiao Wu joined his army and killed Xiao Feng's grandfather matched with the episode when Xiao Feng sacrificed herself. The weight of their pain could only be balanced by the last episode. The loss of life of Xiao Feng killed Xiao Wu..There are two things that died on the last episode.Xiao Feng's sufferings and Xiao Wu's heart. Xiao Wu killed Xiao Feng roots, her family and expected Xiao Feng to continue her life without her roots, it is obvious it is hard to lead your life without roots especially when the one who cut it is the man you loved. But I hate the scene when the female lead character killed herself,I mean why? Why author? Why?😤
lessons:
I have already written long enough I am afraid I can't stop...hehe.. So much in my mind but I only give two.Not all cultures can be preserved especially when it is toxic and detrimental.LOVE is powerful if you use it as a weapon instead of seeing it as a weakness.

When I love a drama,I watch it many times, but this drama I couldn't dare to watch it again. But the irony of it,despite the fact that I watched it once,it pained me to say that all the remarkable scenes still engraved in my memory. Yes,it feels like I had watched it many times.
Would I recommend this? Nah,it depends on how strong your heart is. It is poison, but it was something that I didn't regret on drinking and until now I couldn't find the antidote...🤦

Drama worth a rewatch

This drama has a lot of depth to it and good flashbacks. Although the story did not end on a good note, if that's the way the story was written they had to follow the author's work. The acting of the main leads was phenomenal. They had good chemistry together. They displayed in-depth emotions and made you feel the anguish, pain, and suffering they were experiencing. Their delivery of the humourous parts was also good. I liked the wardrobes especially the collars of the wardrobes. It looks like a lot of money was spent on building the sets and on locations. Peng Xiaoran is one of my two favorite actresses. She's very pretty and makes her ML look good. She tends to favor costume dramas and I hope to see her in a modern drama.

this drama should be imagine however it turn out to be boring from first episode. if you like to invest the time to watch. you should skip episode 1-9 and 49 to 52. so you will get good result. this is boring indeed. if it compare to other drama. it's really less action scenes. less thought. less romance. less meaning. it's just a triple love. the teacher become behind door lover and that's all for this drama. nothing more. if you expect wonderful from this drama. you should be.
everyone has different ideal. this food. it's quite good taste for me. unlike the first start ever night. i was freak out how wonderful it is. imaging from the start.

Promising Premise, No Substance: A Letdown in Every Way

This is probably the second series I’ve ever rated so low. The first thing that caught my eye was the poster—it’s absolutely gorgeous and very engaging for new viewers. Based on the premise, I expected a great balance between romance and court diplomacy, but the high rating (above 8) feels misleading. I’ve seen far better Chinese dramas rated much lower, so I’m not sure if the romance alone is why people scored it so highly.

The production quality is disappointing. The costumes are barely decent, the sets look cheap, and even the makeup is poorly done. However, the biggest issue is the acting—whether it’s the capricious princess, her enamored master, or the prince, none of the performances feel convincing. One moment that really sealed my decision to drop the drama was when the prince suddenly learned how his mother died—it was so random and poorly executed that I knew things would only go downhill from there. The dialogues are weak, and the characters feel superficial and caricatured.

For a 2019 drama, it looks like something shot in the early 2000s, and not in a good way. The only thing I genuinely liked was the natural landscapes, particularly the desert scenes. I wish I had more positive things to say, but I couldn’t even get past episode five—it was that bad for me. That said, those who are deeply invested in romance and can overlook everything else might still enjoy it.

O drama não é sobre amor

Spoilers bem sutis.

A trama acaba focando numa vingança do principe herdeiro.

O drama retrata mulheres fortes e homens egoístas.
