Underrated

First of all, is a joy to watch another short drama with Hu Yi Yao, after Secrets of the Shadow Sect...

For the drama, it is a agreable short drama with an intersting story and premise.
Set between a virtual world and the real world, alneit a futuristic one

As for the ending, it leaves the ending open but inplied that both mains return to the real world, meet again and resumed their relation, with the possibility and opening for a sequel...

Awesome acting, directing & music meets tired plot with cop-out ending.

Wow the acting was so good, especially considering many scenes were probably difficult to stay in character, due to cgi or cheesy script. But ML and FL were truly believable with awesome chemistry. Directing was really good, everything was beautiful, sexy and exciting. Music elevated the scenes and pulled the story into cohesion. Costumes and makeup were budget-excellent.

But the plot is cliche af, and the story/script are loaded with cheese. This could have been overlooked if the ending was satisfying, but it isnt. So very worth one watch, but idk about a rewatch though.

A Gem in sea of web dramas

I started watching this drama with low expectations, too many of these web series are mediocre at best, but I was instantly impressed by the cinematography so I decided to keep watching.
I'm so glad I did! This turned out to be sooooo good! The chemistry between the ML and FL is captivating. The ML's character is refreshing, a badass who is genuine but not a pushover. I very rarely want to rewatch a drama once it's done. I rewatched this one. I must add, great job by the lighting and camera crew, they made the quality of this web series look like a big budget series ❤️

pretty average to me

so, this is definitely not the best short drama I’ve seen and I found it pretty average

the good :
- the idea for the plot is interesting (the virtual world)
- the costumes are really pretty
- makeup and styling are good
- the leads have chemistry
- the kissing scenes were average to me though
- the cinematography was pretty
- the acting was good, the actors did a great job
- no love triangle (I wouldn’t call it that since it was only to use the other person and no love was involved)
- happy ending I guess… we will come back to it
- visual couple. Never seen this ML, but he is really handsome. FL is also very pretty, I’ve seen her before.
- support cast was okay.
- I liked it that ML was also from the real world
- I guess the romance was okay, we’ll get back to it

The cons :
- It was always a bit boring to me, but I was skipping nothing and paying attention for like half the drama, it was still interesting. but around ep 15, when they « won » agains the king, it became even more boring. I was watching at 1,5x and the last 3 eps, I fast forward a lot.
- always the same shitty ending with these kind of drama. Like yeah we know they reunite. we see some guy (who as to be ML), we don’t see is face, FL is smiling, the end… like why can’t they never elaborate. let us see the guy and give us more ? a hug, a sentence, anything really. And it was over for the bad guy in ep 23, they had a whole ep for the ending.
- I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I didn’t feel it the leads falling in love. Made no sense to me. It just seemed so sudden, especially FL. Maybe that why I could really enjoy.
- The actors were great, but I was feeling nothing in the emotional scene
- The beginning was abrupt to me, I was like was is going on, I didn’t even know the plot before starting, I was confused. I stopped and went to read the sypnosis. I started because I read some people saying that the leads loved each other very much and something like that… I ended up disappointed
- well not really a bad thing, but it wasn’t what I expected. ML going kinda crazy and possessive, wanting to force her. And keep hurting each other. Well I get it, it was to protect each other, but anyway. I felt really bad for ML a few times nevertheless

so, to conclude, it’s clearly not the best, but okay to pass time. I think the rating is actually on point for this one

surprisingly good - gripping story and great CP cast and romance

Wen into this one blind, and was really pleasantly surprised as compared to other shows in this category, it was really great and it deserves more recognition. The main CP was fantastic, they both acted well and shared an amazing on-screen chemistry. The plot was surprisingly fluid for such a short-format drama, and the directing and scene transition was smoother than usual in this category. Definititely thumbs up. oh, I appreciated the costumes were decent and that the makeup was not as tacky and much more suited for the style than I usually see in mini-dramas (usually it’s overdone for my taste and too kitsch, which tends to take me out of the story).

A Lifeless Romance: A Missed Opportunity

I watched the entire drama, holding on to the hope that it would get better at any moment—but in the end, it was a complete waste of time. There was supposed to be chemistry between the couple, but it simply never happened. The drama failed to convince the audience of their love—at least, it didn’t convince me. It felt like lifeless people just going through the motions of being human. The production quality was good, the actors were capable, yet despite everything, the overall experience remained bland

Fun but a bit confusing for me

The story is actually really fun, but there are things that I don’t understand, like what is the virtual world thing? Is it a game? What is it for? Either they have explained it in the beginning and I just didn’t pay attention, or they actually did not state why this virtual world even exist. I also think that there are plot holes, for example the ending. If the guy at the end is him, how is he alive? Don’t they need the transportation ticket to get back? The CGI is meh but honestly I don’t really care.

However, there are also a lot of things that I like about this drama. First of all, it’s the color grading and cinematography. It’s so beautifully done. I do also appreciate that they wore pretty hanfus and not a tacky or cheap-looking hanfus. And I do love me some good obsessed MLs sooo yeah😋.

The story would deserve 45 minutes/episode

The storyidea is interesting and something new for Chinese series. The lead actors are great and bring their characters to life.

[Note: It might happen that you watch a version without OST/just some acapella singing, which is a bit sad for Western fans who like Chinese soundtracks.]

The background of the virtual world/humans is not explained which creates a feeling of being lost in an unknown realm.

It's really sad that this story didn't get more screenplaytime. I think it'll be great then.

Overall it's worth watching because of great actors and some new plot ideas. (It's best to watch it as if it's a movie and not a series because movies usually are similar short and less detailed than Chinese series).

This drama is amazing... Amazingly bad... Haha... But still amazing nonetheless, to become the first ever short drama that I've dropped....

Usually with the short dama, at least I'm still willing to linger around to watch how the plot will go forward. But this... I've enough of the nonsense. And I've zero tolerance left for it...

Story about what...? I don’t understand at all nor do I care anymore... From the very first episode they already don't give us a damn clue about what is this. A litte bit clue here and there about virtual world that I really don't understand. And right now nor do I care what's this about anymore...

So... Just watch other drama. Tik tok short video even better than this one...

Eliot Huang Xing

Eliot Huang Xing interpreta Ye WuMing.
P.S. Senza di lui non lo avrei considerato
