For me, the show wasn’t really worth the hype I felt it lacked something I can’t really figure out what tho but it was aiit. I just wished the there was more depth behind the story. I wished there were more facial expressions from the actors and I wished the camera qualities were also higher because I felt bored watching it a lot it took me 2 weeks to finish it because I didn’t understand the quality. Not trying to sound like a hater but it could have been a whole lot better but I’m not a writer I’m I🙂Was this review helpful to you?
Fun storyline and campy vfx
I really like where this is going!! It's unfortunately removed from youtube, so rn I'm trying to decide if I can afford to drop ten dollars on a gaga subscription to watch it :( I really really like it, though! Great storyline, I'm enjoying all the nods to other vampire media and the fun, campy style of the whole thing. It makes me think of an old vampire movie or telenovella, I like how comforting it is.Was this review helpful to you?
Bloody Mary
It started with a bang and didnt even realise the episode got over. It had the mystery carried till the end. Joss and Gawin chemistry is electrifying. Remember Joss in Nabi my step darling, I wanted to see him other roles. Nothing suits him better than vampire. Neo always makes us laugh. Looking forward to the story unwinding around other vampires. Its a great start and even better chemistry
The first episode was really entertaining. The storyline looks promising.Joss and Gawin have a really good chemisrty, it looks like they have a very good relationship offscreen too.
Only how they look at each other makes butterflies in my stomach.
I can't wait for the next episode. I believe it will even better when Mark and Tong will start to like each other and start to be attrackted to each other.
The CGI is not the best but as I say on every single platform it is just a GMMTv Series and not a Marvel Studios Movie.
So I wont take any points because of that.
I hope the JossGawin fandom will grow big!

Those actors ARE FINEE?? anyways now let's go to the honest rating.watched episode 1 and I love the story but Mark's acting is a bit bad when he had those weird looking eyes and teeth but that part is watchable, I'm exited to get to know more and I'm exited for the plot. I honestly wish they had done the broken window scene a bit different I mean it was well I've seen worse but it got me laughing and the teeth got me a bit + the eyes but the rest it's fine
I might seem like I'm only hating after I saw the first episode but act I wanna know why Mark knows Tong's name and was he the person who gave him the guitar? and who k1lled Tong's mother.. and what does they mean with "side job" for mark? like the weird one or something else.. it makes the story a lot more enjoyable with a lot of mystery's so I'm seated.
I like the romance their having right now, but i get annoyed when I see nakon whatever his name is because he knows who's the real Golden blood and yeah.. we're on ep 6 right now. I've seen spoilers that tonkla dies but I'll pray that he'll be alive.

More vampires that don't act like vampires
This was okay. I wish people would stop making vampire stuff if they're not going to go fully into it with the blood sucking and biting. The chemistry between the main two was okay but not the best. Same with their kissing/spicy scenes, they were just mid. None of the characters were super enjoyable either and the big twist was super predictable.Was this review helpful to you?

Before I write this review I wanna mention that I don't support Joss. This is a personal decision. I don't care if you do support him or not but I do wanna let you guys know I don't, although this does not change the way I see the series. Neo and Aj are in this series so that makes it way better and I also like Gawin. This review is made after watching it a second time btw!!What I like about Neo and Aj is that their characters are always these type's and I love it. Neo's characters is always chaotic and 'stupid' which I loveeeee about Neo and Aj (and his twin JJ aswell) are always these chaotic by standing characters who just want love and third wheel. I feel soooo bad for Tonkla and fucking Tong was NOT nice to him. Like yes he liked him but Tong was way too busy with his own stuff. I feel like Tonkla and Nankan would've been a couple if.. yk.
To be very honest I do not like miss Nuan atall. She was nice and her actions weren't that bad but like she still didn't treat Tong the same way as the others and it clearly affected Tong.
The fx effects were good but the 3d art was horrible, like the spider and the butterfly. Did gmmtv not have the budget? Was it done with a reason? STOP THE GUITAR SCENE'S IM SICK OF THEM!!!
Had to laugh because I recognise the house hahahah (from love in the air and some other series). Tong did not need to ignore Mark so much. It was quite confusing why he kept having feelings on and off. Like it genuinely irritated me. Never did I fully trust Thara, she was acting sooo Sus
Them adopting kids is so cute wish they had given us more content of it. Anyways 1

"Who do you think I am?" "What you need to ask is what creature I am" hello twilight
I have to start with what rly bothered me the most.Music: It makes no freaking sense! When Mark steps out of the pool you can't understand what Tong's feeling bcuz the music is so confusing. It seems like he finds Mark hot but the music is trying to go for a mysterious feel but it isn't actually a mysterious music. I feel like I'm going insane just by trying to explain it.
Also every time Tong thinks abt the past the music isn't making sense. It takes me completely out.
Also it sometimes feels so intense but the scene, even tho is intense, isn't directed in an intense manner.
Directing: Pretty decent at times. I hated the minute Miss Nuan (the orphanage woman) came to ask who allowed Tong to play when there's literally only Tonkla in the shot. (I wonder who let Tong play...) Also the window shot looked better in the trailer. It made me laugh in the ep.
Acting: Honestly not as bad as I expected it to be. I know Joss is good and I watched Gawin in the past (KMA, DBK, NM, Enchante, P10Ls) and this is a different role from his previous ones and honestly I don't think it suits him at all. He doesn't have the face (and the body, let's be honest, he is muscular) for it. He is sharp and manly when the character is supposed to be cheerful and soft. I just don't believe he needs help with protecting himself or that he is naive. He is bigger than most ppl he is around only Joss makes him look small.
Side note: I love Joss and Gawin chemistry irl. They're so sweet and soft to watch. And seem very close and match eachother well. I just don't think Gawin was casted well in this.
Story: I was laughing so hard when Mark introduced himself to Tong as vampire. So twilight, so cringe. I know that it's hard to write vampires in a non cringe manner but that was something else.
I didn't like how they did the flashbacks to the past cause it was so random and messy. And tbh I just felt like they put so many moments just to get the ep runtime. It felt forced and unnecessary.
Overall I'm disappointed and now I'm scared abt revamp.

I just had to come and mention how cheesy this actually is coming off now. I don’t think know if it’s the intention of the writing and directing but it is certainly the writing and directing that is giving off the cheesy telenovella vibe. I got transported back to early twilight days.Despite this the first episode was still fun to watch. I am unfamiliar with Joss as an actor so I will wait to give my opinion on him, but I do love Gawin. He has shined in previous roles that I’ve seen him in.
All in all will continue to see where the story goes and just how cheesy it’s gonna get.

I dropped the series
I couldn't watch past the fourth episode mostly because I'm hating Tong's character. It just doesn't sit right with me the way he acts so childish, the faces he makes and the way he talks idk I just feel weird. The editing its not that good either but it doesn't bother me that much, I think the plot had potential but they kind of ruined it with Tong's personality in my opinion.Was this review helpful to you?
It’s a vampire show that’s a little pale
When I started watching My Golden Blood, I was excited to see how Joss and Gawin would perform as a team. I’ve followed Gawin before specially his songs but not familiar with Joss. However this show definitely shows all of Joss and his handsomeness.The story was shallow and lack direction yet there have been so many Vampire shows to draw comparison. Reminds me of the “Twilight” series with its lame acting and convoluted storyline.
Joss and Gawin deliver performances that are good but not great. Great acting comes from either digging deep into once life experience or excellent coaching. I’m not sure what was lacking here but their acting did not convince me at all. Again, why do thai fight scenes looks so rehearsed and staged. However, what’s lacking in their acting skills is made up by their chemistry. Their chemistry is felt and seen. The way Joss looks at Gawin there is a sparkle in his eyes. When Joss kisses Gawin there is absolute electricity.
Gawin’s song is beautiful and haunting and that’s expected from him. The production looked very cheap and the quality of the video camera and lighting was subpar.
Though the ending was expected I feel the character development of the main and support actor was very weak. Let’s hope their next project would be given the budget to create a show that highlights their skills and abilities.
