It's a must watch

It is definitely a standout, especially for fans of period dramas and stories about duty clashing with desire. It's a genuinely beautiful production that I would highly recommend. What really sold me on this series was the compelling dynamic between the two main leads, Prince Saenkaew and Sasin. The actors have such a strong, palpable chemistry that makes every shared glance and hesitant touch feel incredibly impactful. It's the kind of subtle yet intense connection that makes you root for them instantly.

I also really liked the historical setting (specifically 1995 in this adaptation). It isn't just a backdrop; it’s a source of genuine conflict and emotional tension. The series portrays the significant pressure of tradition and political obligations on the characters in a way that feels realistic and heart-wrenching. The themes of societal expectation and the burden of family legacy are woven so well into the romance, elevating it beyond a simple love story. This added layer of drama and the emotional depth it created is why I kept coming back for more. While the political intrigue helps build the dramatic stakes, there are moments where the plot focuses a little too much on the secondary characters' schemes, slightly slowing down the pace of the main romance. I occasionally found myself eager for the story to return to the leads, but this is a very minor quibble for an otherwise great series.

If you appreciate a slow-burn romance set against a rich, challenging backdrop, and if you value superb acting and on-screen chemistry, you need to watch this. Love in the Moonlight beautifully explores how love can blossom even when it directly challenges everything a person is expected to be. It’s an underrated gem in the BL world that deserves all the praise.

A Love Worth Fighting For A Story That Broke Me and Healed Me at the Same Time

I just finished watching Love in the Moonlight, and wow… I’m honestly still emotional. This drama is so beautiful and powerful. It really shows the true meaning of love not the easy kind, but the kind you have to fight for.
One thing I loved is how it teaches us to choose ourselves. We don’t always have to live to please others. Sometimes, being strong means standing up for who you are and what you feel, even when it’s hard. The story also shows that loving someone whether it’s a man or a woman is something personal, and no one has the right to judge that.
I’m not going to lie, the father made me really angry at first. The way he reacted was painful to watch. But at the same time, I could understand him. He comes from a different generation where this kind of love wasn’t accepted, so his mindset was shaped by that. It doesn’t make it right, but it makes it real.
What touched me the most is that he changed in the end. He accepted his son and his boyfriend, and that moment was so powerful. It showed that people can grow, and that love can be stronger than fear or judgment.
The characters felt so real, and the emotions were so deep that I actually cried a lot. I’ve never cried like this for a drama before. It wasn’t just sad, it was everything at once.
This drama is not just a love story. It’s about acceptance, courage, and fighting for what truly matters. And honestly… I’ll never forget it.

The best bl story ever

With all the new bl stories that from the first episodes focus on naked scenes..... this one comes like a fresh breeze of love and romance in an amazing story.
The development of the scenes are amazing, well connected with each other, and the story develops gradually and beautifully 😍
It's a series with emotion, love, drama, happiness and sadness.
It had been a long time since I felt my heart beating and the tears falling.

I love this BL and it's an amazing series to watch.

Flawless Acting and Divine Storytelling from Start to Finish

Wow, what can I say?
I cried practically from beginning to end.
The “triangle” between Prince, Sasin and Pin is a story that makes you experience a whole range of emotions, from anger and pain to love and joy.
In my opinion, the story was divinely written; the actors were formidable with incredible chemistry.
Honestly, there's nothing more to add and nothing to criticise. I could watch it again.

Sensual, Forbidden Love Drama That I Loved Way Too Much

Love in the Moonlight is a gorgeous, emotional, sometimes over-the-top dramatic love story between a prince and a musician set against the political turmoil of the 60s. This couple that will undoubtedly linger with you long after the credits roll.

The plot is nothing new but the drama left me speechless simply because of its execution. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly high-budget, and yes, it has some sound issues, but the way it’s shot—and the creators’ attempts to recreate that old-school lakorn feel—actually adds an interesting flavor to the overall packaging.

The story revolves around an extremely complicated love triangle (but not quite a triangle) between a young woman Pin, Prince Saenkaew, and Pin’s cousin Sasin.

Pin and Saenkaew are engaged (or rather forced to) for their families’ mutual benefit. Saenkaew’s family is running away from the new political regime and needs to have a Thai relative to transfer their assets to to avoid confiscation. Pin’s family is broke. So the parents get together and decide that marriage is the best option for each family to get what they need.

And while Pin likes Saenkaew, he doesn’t see her more than her little sister. Not because there’s something wrong with her—no, she is very wifey material—but simply because he doesn’t like women.

Enter Pin’s cousin, Sasin. The sparks fly right away, even if characters are clueless in the first few episodes.

This a tension filled forbidden love trope set against the political turmoil of the early 60s, a time when same-sex relationships were frowned upon and people faced judgment for their feelings. This is especially complicated for a royal family. With the political regime changing, dignity and respect is all Saenkaew’s father thinks their family has left as they are on the run from the new regime that does not recognizing royalty. He does not want anyone to find out that his only son is gay, so whether Saenkaew wants to get married or not the poor guy has to. It’s the only way for his father to ensure his son is safe. But his father really does it in such a roundabout way, using every method available to him, including violence.

Poor prince Saenkaew is stuck in a hopeless situation. He is caring the legacy of his entire family on his shoulders. The stakes get higher when Sasin turns into more than just Pin’s cousin. He eve irritates Saenkaew's planned out life, throwing his world into chaos.

Let’s be real: the characters aren’t perfect. In fact, they’re far from it. Saenkaew and Sasin pull some morally questionable stunts—not particularly in terms of loving one another but in their efforts to shield others, especially Pin, from the truth. They are trying to solve the problem without taking into account that it’s not just the two of them, but their respective families in the picture. Yet, toward the end of the drama they are redeemable because they come to terms with their flaws. That includes Pin, who probably shouldn’t have done what she did. But I could actually understand why she did it. I think many women in such situation would do exactly the same thing. There wasn’t much time for them to think anything through before the wedding.

The acting is superb, especially the intimate moments between Sasin and Saenkaew; they feel natural and genuine rather than acted out. And the music? Absolutely amazing! It enhances the overall emotional and melancholic vibe of the drama.

Sure, you'll find yourself hating the characters at times. There are some truly unredeemable individuals in this drama, but, spoiler alert, they get what’s coming to them. While there's a sprinkle of comic relief, don't expect the lighthearted banter typical of K-dramas. For the most part, Love in the Moonlight is dramatically over-the-top, which works well to ground viewers in the era the creators are depicting.

There are episodes, like the heart-wrenching sixth one, that reveal the depths of the character's struggles, it hits hard.

I truly loved this drama. I've been on a bit of a bad streak with new BL dramas lately—trying out several—and only one was decent. But Love in the Moonlight turned out absolutely amazing! I doubt anything can top it from 2025, except maybe Top Form, but that’s a whole different kettle of fish. I’m mostly talking about the emotional depth, the complexity of the characters, and how intimacy is portrayed on screen.

If you like dramas that rip your heart before putting it back together, this one’s for you. The on-screen chemistry is truly remarkable. You may need to suspend your disbelief a little, but that's par for the course in any romance drama. Definitely give this one a watch!

Emotional truth vs Social performance ?❤️

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! The chemistry, the tension, the drama, the angst, all beautifully executed. This isn't just a romance, it is a story about desire colliding with duty inside a rigid social structure.
• Saenkaew(love as imprisonment) - someone whose life has already been decided for him.
• Sasin(destabilizing force) - Pushes Saenkaew toward emotional honesty.
• Pinanong(stability) - the socially acceptable future
Underneath the romance, the series is asking: "Can a person shaped entirely by duty learn to choose themselves?

Masterpiece!

Wow! This is a masterpiece! It was beautifully written and executed from beginning to end. Every scene had a purpose and contributed to the overall story. There were no unnecessary fillers, which made every episode engaging and worth watching. The pacing was well-balanced, allowing both the plot and the characters to develop naturally without feeling rushed or dragged out.

What impressed me the most was the quality of the writing. The story knew exactly what it wanted to tell and stayed consistent throughout. More importantly, it felt realistic. Rather than relying on unrealistic scenarios or fantasy-like romance, it portrayed relationships, emotions, and personal struggles in a way that felt authentic and relatable. Each of the main characters had their own personal battle to fight, their own lives to protect, and their own flaws to overcome. Their motivations were clear, making them feel like real people instead of characters who existed only to serve the romance. The emotional moments were heartfelt instead of overly dramatic, and every conversation carried meaning.

The cinematography was stunning, with beautiful visuals that perfectly complemented the atmosphere of the story. The soundtrack enhanced many scenes, making the emotional moments even more impactful. On top of that, the cast delivered remarkable performances. Their chemistry felt natural, and they brought sincerity and depth to every scene, making the characters feel alive.

I also appreciate that the series didn't rely on overused BL tropes or excessive fan service to attract viewers. Instead, it trusted its strong storytelling, well-developed characters, and emotional depth. That confidence is what makes the series stand out from many others in the genre.

I love it, a truly refreshing series in the BL industry. Love in the Moonlight proves that a romance doesn't need unrealistic plot twists or exaggerated drama to leave a lasting impression. Sometimes, a simple, grounded, and well-told story is far more powerful. Every character has a purpose, every conflict feels meaningful, and every emotional payoff is earned. This is undoubtedly one of the best Thai BL series I've watched this year, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a heartfelt, realistic, and beautifully crafted romance.

Amazing

Characters:
We have Saenkaew who have been taught that his identity is wrong, and is carrying the hurt of being unable to be true to himself. He struggles between duty and love, and I absolutely admire him trying to do everyone right given the circumstances he was put through. Sasin, on the other hand, even though his childhood also wasn't the best, he's still a dreamer. Most of his actions are based on his emotions, which makes him a little reckless, but also romantic because he really gives his all to his lover. Our female lead Pin has it rough on the self-worth department, because you can tell all she wants is to be loved, and that will affect a lot of her choices in this drama. I have to say we have a bunch of incredible side characters, they weren't there as plot device, but actually are a part of the story and contributed to it.

Story & Acting:
Won't get much into it to avoid spoilers. Think of a realest and a dreamer fall in love but have to face issues with acceptance and expectations. There were a lot of messages within the conflicts and I appreciated that. The acting was superb. If I have to say, I think my favorite thing about this drama is the dialogue. More than anything happening in the story itself, I enjoyed the conversations between the characters much more, and have some quotes that stuck with me.

The music was wonderful. The sets and cinematography great. Directing and editing were also well done. All of them worked to create powerful scenes and moments that had me stressed and on the edge of my seat. The range of frustration, anxiety, relief, joy, and then back to anxiety was overwhelming (in a good way).

My personal critique would be on a couple things that weren't resolved or answered that I thought were a big part of the story. A lot of the time, the antagonists are "conveniently" at the right place and the right time. Some of their actions were inconsistent, dragged out, or pointless.

Overall, great series. I enjoyed it a lot. If you can't deal with frustrating plotlines (It didn't start like this but the last few EPs were very stressful), I probably won't recommend this to you. But if you can sit through it, you'll definitely be rewarded.

PHENOMENAL PAINFUL AND CHAOTIC

This drama is soooo chaotic and painful ! I almost want to go to Thailand and kill SaenKaew's Father ㅋㅋㅋ
I always hated the fact that SaenKaew's Dad has always had a way to find SaenKaew like even on the most impossible places or situation and suddenly SaenKaew's Father is already there and have found them !
There was so many hindrance like that was so insane like as a watcher , when will all of this gonna end ! But I thought this is what a drama's like this is supposed to right ?
It is a very very good drama ! I must admit, nothing here was predictable for me, I like how the story went and and everything.
The Actors and characters are insanely good, their acting is phenomenal , Specially Sasin and Pin ! And the Uncle of SaenKaew and by the way can I just comment the old servant woman on Seankaew's family , she was so beautiful for me and she was so pure ! I want to have a grandmothet like her.
The character development was great, I thought the only way for SeanKaew and Sasin to overcome was to have SaenKaew's father be arrested because I thought his father was doing something like illegal , but maybe not because since the wedding was successful the family were able to go through. Thankfully Pin finally realized and let go of Sasin and Saekaew, she had the most painful heart in the story , but thats what it is, we cannot force someone to love us and also Pin is really really beautiful ! If I am not mistaked She already had a drama along side with Peak and I think they were sibblings at the drama, I am not really sure.
All in all it was a great drama, you would only really have to be prepared to have a mixed emotions if you watch this, and to be honest it would really need for you to have courage to finish this because at some point it was too heavy , but thankfully I did had a courage ! Since also the actors are gorgeous !
I highly recommended one !

Hands Down, A Must-Watch!

This series is on another level—plot, acting, cinematography, everything just hits perfectly. I laughed, I cried, and honestly got goosebumps so many times. What hooked me the most is the way the actors deliver every little expression, especially the two leads—they’re just addictive to watch. I can’t get enough, seriously one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long while!

Highly overrated

Let me start by saying that this is a very good drama, and I don't mean that it's a bad drama by saying it's overrated... But 8.6/10 ... A big no, a good drama yes, but doesn't deserves all that, it has big flaws and many cliché moments, so it's a 7 at best imo.

I'm also not judging others opinions if they really like it, I'm only talking personally.

I can state what I like about this drama but I guess saying what's wrong with it is more meaningful since everyone is generally praising it.

I'll begin with the story, it's a very simple story, highlighted by the great acting and impeccable chemistry between the leads, also the whole cast in so good looking specially the women here, everyone is really beautiful and easy on the eye~

But I can't understand for the life of me the cliché way of ending it .. the change of heart some characters had, the small and public community where everyone is cool about being gay, in early 60s for god's sake, and the easy acceptance from old people like it's ok my son, if it's your happiness then go for it! Seriously?? I could also mention the conspiracies thing but this is a lakorn so let's be realistic.
Now the pace of the story is really slow, a very slow burn romance which is beautiful, but also boring as some point, with many obstacles they naturally have to face, so after a while I'm just watching out of loyalty just to get over with it.

Chemistry is impeccable as I said so nothing to say but praises here.
I won't go into details but some side characters are just too much, to explain, this is more a lakorn than a BL. IYKYK ~

I won't say more because I'm generally too lazy now and because it doesn't deserve to be criticized that much ~

So generally, except for the cliché things and the way the story went 180 degrees to reach a closure, every thing else is great, like I said it's a very good drama, just I saw much better IMO this doesn't deserve that high rate, however I would recommend it ~
