that was cute ... in 16:9 format ...

What's really sad is, that MDL has no structure with putting uncut and cut versions together or seperate it and in this case, the re-edit would warrant a new entry for sure because now this show now is a) like any other show and b) can reach a much wider audience. So I have to write the review here which suxx...

While the reel was not bad itself... it's a pain to watch. Thankfully GagaOOLala picked up the series with an horizontal re-edit, giving us 6 episodes of around 17 minutes each... And that changes the vibe of the show dramatically in my POV. Some cut's are still rough because such a reel has episodes of around 90 to 120 seconds, but most of the time you will not notice it.

Both leads did a very good job and the story progresses naturally and with the usual BL tropé of "should I do it or not". There is not much drama in it. It's just mostly smooth sailing which will bring a smile to your face. Of course it's also not an earth-shattering story but everything felt so in flow. This is a nice vibe show, you can forget your worries and just enjoy it. And that is, what I did. And so, if you have a chance, grab this show on GagaOOLala and forget the shitty world for around 100 minutes!

JUST DIDN'T LIKED THE REEL FORMAT

The only thing I do not like about this drama is its format , but every thing here is good and easy to digest and a binge watchable, thanks to the sources out there who made a compilation of this reel type series to be put into a 1-2 hour range video that made it possible for me to watch the entire series .
FIrst I love the cast ! they were so beautiful guys like specially Moon Do Ha .. the way he expresses his jealousy and his love language to Ja Yeon was all over his eyes .. and Jae Yeon's response in acting was all perfect.
what I like most about it was the sweet moments of the leads specially when Do Ha was asking Jae Yeon to go out with him they were really cute .. everything here was just simple and fluffy and just a feel good drama I really hope I may see these two guys again together in a non reel format BL please !

Really Really Cute

This is really cute. I'm not a fan of 2 min episodes unless I can binge watch, so that is what I did. I was not disappointed.

Do Ha was cute, witty, petulant, direct and a whip smart intellect that he hid under a non chalant facade. Jae Yeon was interesting, elusive, reluctant, intuitive and perfect for him. Do Ha took his time to figure out what he was feeling but when he did, he didn't hold back. He engaged all of his charming wiles and made sure Jae Yeon had no choice but to choose. He chose.

Pros:
Visuals
Whitty conversations
Playful banter between leads and support
Partners who enjoy being together
Partners who match intellectually
A script with a little surprise
Actors that are entertaining
A series that doesn't need a nc scene to carry the romance.
No unnecessary drama

Con
2 min episodes.

It was fun, a delight to view and light enough to be entertaining. Main and support interacted well together. Would enjoy seeing them together again. Rewatch, yes.

well done micro series

Overall: I enjoyed the back and forth with the leads/their dynamic. 63 episodes between 1-2 minutes each aired on Vigloo app which also has (You Want Some, Rule #1 No Dating Rule, Love in the Apocalypse)

What I Liked
- idol and trainer/stunt person
- how both were equally sassy
- caring moments
- non dead fish lip press kiss

Room For Improvement
- background music was too loud at times

How to Watch for Free (episodes are 50 coins each, you can't skip episodes but once unlocked they stay unlocked forever, there are additional tasks to get more coins like following the company on social media)

Day 1
- watch episodes 1-6 (free on the app)
- can watch 10 episodes free with ads, I unchecked the auto unlock, clicked off of that box and another box popped up saying "view ads to watch for free 0/10" (I did that for eps 7-16)
- watch 15 ads per day for 30 coins each on the rewards page and do the daily check in (eps 17-25)

Days 2 & 3
- watch the 10 episodes, do the daily checking, watch the 15 ads per day (should take about 3 days in total to watch for free)

Short, budget cute but shallow!

This drama falls into that tricky space where the reel format works against it, yet the story and performances are decent enough to pull it through. Like, who thought chopping a perfectly fine story into TikTok-sized bits was a good idea! The whole thing ran for about 1.5 hours, which honestly could have been a cute movie or a mini drama with proper 20+ minute episodes.

Now onto the good part..the leads. Their chemistry was lowkey adorable. The banter had that flirty but awkward in the right places vibe. They have got very contrasting personalities, but somehow together it just clicked. You actually feel their little moments, which is rare in these short-format dramas.

What annoyed me was the background music. At times I couldn't hear the dialogues and it was very distracting. Also, choppy editing in the middle ( but I expected it considering the format)

That said, this isn’t a drama that tries to deliver deep character arcs or heavy development, and it doesn’t pretend to. But honestly I didn’t even mind. The vibe was light, the pacing worked and both actors carried it way better than the budget probably allowed.

Overall It’s giving cute one time watch. Not a rewatch, but definitely not a regret either.

The Actors Slayed

I am not really a fan of the vertical drama format, but I have to give respect to this production team- they knew the format and told a really well-executed story in it. As a former film teacher, I recognize the talent and technical know-how to pull off as tightly crafted a story as this in this format. I truly respect the craft that is evident here, even if this mode of storytelling isn't my cup of tea.

But what truly shines here is the acting. it's natural, understated, and despite a script that missed important story beats, the actors' performances somehow provided those beats. There were scenes and arcs that seemed alluded to and not explored, and yet the actors' tight performances made me feel like I had witnessed those scenes.

Overall, it had the warmth and naturalness of Thamepo with a slightly more mature couple. Highly recommend.

A very sweet take on 2 guys confused by being in love.

This is beyond adorable. The actors are pretty much everyone very good in their roles. The tom boy girl stunt, her sidekick, everyone were good. The two main leads were extraordinarily cute, convincing in their characters, the abundance of straightforwardness combined with occasional shyness, occasional squirming, and dimples everywhere you look, makes for a lovely story. These two do excellent "man lost in love beyond all hope" face. Just watch it, it is short but perfect. I only took a tick of the points because this could have been even better with a little longer running time to flesh them out and a full format but as it is it is a gem of a microdrama, and a gem in vertical filming. The compositions are very well done, it does great use mirrors and shoot s it in a way that works for vertical.

Everything was good... Until it wasn't

If there is two tropes in BL that I really hate, they'd be 1- Everyone is gay and 2- Straight people turn gay for no reason at all.

This drama has the latter.
On one side we have this very disciplined, very mature, and extremely level headed STRAIGHT Jae Yeon, and on the other we have the very childish, rude and annoying Do Ha.
Guess who turns gay in the last 3 mins because of the other one... *Facepalm*

I mean this is a BL and I KNOW that so I'm not gonna sit here and expect to see straight couple, but at least make it realistic a little.

I'd understand if it was Jae Yeon who is gay and you know, try to seduce Do Ha and Doha falls for his mature personality and his manly character, but what did Doha do exactly to make the totally normal Jae Yeon changes his sexuality and falls for him! He was rude to him in front of many people, he misunderstood him and judged him for that misunderstanding, he bothered him all the time, the confession was the worst I've seen ever, and they didn't get close enough for any sort of feelings to arise....

Through the whole thing I was waiting for their feelings to grow, we can clearly see DH falling for JY, deservedly, but the whole time JY treated DH as a friend, barely so, and suddenly all of a sudden a confession, change of sexuality and the beginning of a love story, and we are supposed to believe that!? Alright.... Whatever you say ~~

Giving it a 4 because I liked JY, he was a dream guy.

Greatness

It’s so unfair we get long boring series with stiff acting and no chemistry that have 8-12 episodes and then have small gems like this of only an hour.
This was superb acting, excellent story and a fabulous chemistry. If only it weren’t filmed with a sandal lol Vertical filming, very badly done and with (probably) a phone did to this little treasure a great disservice . I absolutely loved it otherwise and I adored brave and sassy Doha 😍👏❤️

Cute, Sweet, but too short!!!

After reading the other reviews, I was glad I have GagaOOLala (not for kids!).

I didn’t know why it was labeled, “re-edited version,” but now I do. So what I watched was a normal series, consisting of 6 episodes, each about 17 minutes long.

The lead actors were really attractive and the acting was great, it had a very decent story, and it was depicted, pretty realistically.

I was relieved to see S Korea hasn’t lost their touch for quality, entertaining, somewhat compelling, BL series.

Short, enjoyable watch. Watched the re-edited 6 episode version.

Sweet romance. No consent issues, boundary-crossing, or stalking/harassment.

They don’t get together until the very end of the final episode and they plan to keep it a secret. I’d be invested in a longer show where they deal with the public fall out. Also, they keep talking about Doha not getting along with his idol group members, but they never explain why and in the final episode they just say they made up with no further explanation. So not sure what the point of even including that conflict was.

Very chaste, which is probably to be expected. One lip press where one character is wide-eyed in shock (but I would consider it most likely consensual). One post-credits kiss with a tiny bit of mouth movement.

The problem was, you couldn’t convince me that these guys have any romantic feelings for each other whatsoever. They were very friend-coded in their facial expressions, body language, and tone. Doha was the one pursuing Jaeyeon, who was meant to be unsure about his feelings, but he played into that so well that even by the end I felt like he wasn’t really that into Doha. The post-credits scene where Doha tells Jaeyeon to call him and says he’s doesn’t want to be the one always calling first didn’t help with that. I think it would have been way more enjoyable if Jaeyeon was really into Doha the whole time too and there was a whole forbidden romance yearning / longing thing going on, but that wasn’t at all present.
