A Warm and Heartwarming Finale That Felt So Tay & New

A Dog And A Plane was exactly the kind of romantic comedy I hoped to see from Tay & New.

The story itself was simple, but it focused on love, trust, family, and the people who support each other through difficult times. Instead of relying on unnecessary misunderstandings, it allowed both couples to grow naturally, making the relationships feel warm and believable.

The final episode was full of happiness. Kanit recovered from his accident, earned a new opportunity as a flight attendant, and received a beautiful surprise proposal from Thot in the sky. Their wedding was a joyful celebration surrounded by family and friends, giving the series a satisfying conclusion.

I also enjoyed the second couple. Akki tried to push Weha away for his own sake, but Weha's determination proved just how deep his love had always been. Their story was simple but touching.

For me, the biggest strength of the drama was Tay & New themselves. I've watched them together since Kiss: The Series, and one thing has never changed—Tay's characters always look completely devoted to New's characters. No matter what kind of personality he plays, there is always absolute trust and affection between them. Those quiet hugs and comfortable smiles are what make this pairing so special.

This wasn't a groundbreaking drama, but it didn't need to be. It was a warm, relaxing romantic comedy that left me smiling from beginning to end.

After finishing the entire series, I have to admit that my excitement ...

The pilot really did feel special. TAY and NEW were phenomenal, and their experience was immediately noticeable. Their chemistry, expressions, delivery, and ability to make even small moments feel natural were probably the strongest parts of the series. The production was also polished, and the first few episodes gave me the impression that we were getting a mature, well-written BL romantic comedy.
Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, the story started to lose that momentum.
What initially felt refreshing eventually became predictable, and some of the later episodes felt increasingly forced and, at times, genuinely cringe. The pacing and writing didn't seem to know how to maintain the same level of quality that the series established at the beginning. Instead of building toward something satisfying, the story gradually became more formulaic, and I found myself watching simply because I wanted to finish it rather than because I was still excited about what would happen next.
And that's probably my biggest disappointment: I don't think the problem was TAY and NEW. I think they deserved a stronger script and roles that made better use of what they're capable of as actors.

They clearly have the experience and chemistry to carry a much more complex and compelling story. There were moments when their performances reminded me exactly why I was so excited about this series in the first place—but the writing didn't always give them enough to work with.

I still think A Dog and a Plane had a genuinely good foundation. The beginning was fun, charming, funny, and full of potential. The production was strong, the cast was enjoyable, and TAYNEW were undoubtedly one of the highlights.

But by the time I reached the ending, I couldn't help thinking:

"This could have been so much better."

I don't regret watching it,but I do feel like the series promised more in its opening episodes than it ultimately delivered.

And honestly, after seeing what TAY and NEW can do, I just want to see them given a script that is worthy of them.

Ep 1 review

Ep1 of adaap was good and everyone understood the assignment. The directing leaned into controlled chaos. Not overly dramatic, not overly comedic, somewhere in that modern slice of life romcom space, the dialogues felt conversational instead of just written. That’s harder than people think. A lot of romance dramas fail because characters talk like generators. Here, the awkwardness feels human and natural,the sarcasm and irritation between characters and already establish chemistry without forcing romance immediately. Also good dialogue isn’t about sounding poetic, It’s about revealing character psychology naturally and the actors did that pretty well. The editing rhythm felt natural not hyper-fast TT editing. Not slow art-house pacing either. It understands romantic tension needs breathing room. The reaction shot, timing,pauses in dialogue,lingering awkward moments. The editor did trust silence a bit, which was wow to me.Also the transitions between chaotic and quiet scenes were smooth. That tonal control matters a lot in romcoms. Chemistry-wise we all know taynew already have tension not just romantic tension but also behavioral tension. That’s even better, cause you can feel the annoyance,curiosity,emotional resistance,subconscious attraction.
And their acting styles don’t clash visually. That’s IMPORTANT.
Sometimes one actor performs naturally while another feels theatrical and it destroys immersion. Here, the energy balance works.Their micro-expressions carried scenes more than dramatic dialogue did. Thats even good for future emotional scenes. And i was told if you want to be a good director this is an important part chemistry is not just attractiveness. It’s,timing,eye contact,spatial behavior, silence tolerance, and reaction authenticity and they understood the assignment, the cinematography,the series tone, lighting, framing, and everything was amazing I'm proud of Adaap and after Ep1, my expectations for the next episodes are honestly really high because the series already feels visually and emotionally consistent. I’m excited to see how they develop the cinematography, emotional pacing, and chemistry while slowly changing the atmosphere as the characters grow closer. If the show continues balancing soft humor, emotional heaviness, natural dialogue, and immersive airport visuals this well, it could end up becoming one of those romance dramas where the atmosphere and visual storytelling stay with you just as much as the actual plot. Big appreciation to the production team of ADAAP for such a strong first episode. The cinematography, lighting, editing, atmosphere, and overall direction already feel so thoughtful and immersive. Thank you for giving the series such a beautiful start, now I’m even more excited for the next episodes.

nailed their characters. Toto and kanit relationship is from enemies to lover and I can't wait to see their dynamics, it will be fun to watch them fall in love slowly. Beer jokes were too funny
. Mond was funny as hell too,Ryu's character made
me pissed but I know he is good actor if he can do that Juno and tonliew for fresher they also did good job • .! knew Director jojo will never disappoint, and the series storyline is so good. Everyone should watch it if they want something fun and comedic series to watch after exhausting day.

Una serie mala sostenida heroicamente por Tay y New

Voy a empezar por lo evidente: le doy un 9,5. Ahora bien, antes de que nadie piense que A Dog and a Plane es una obra maestra incomprendida de la televisión tailandesa, conviene aclarar una cosa: la serie no merece un 9,5. Tay y New merecen un 9,5. La serie tiene la inmensa suerte de que ellos están dentro y, como consecuencia, yo me lo he pasado estupendamente durante buena parte de sus diez episodios. Con otros actores, probablemente habría acabado preguntándome qué pecado cometí en una vida anterior para estar viendo aquello.

Porque el guion es malo. No desastroso de una manera fascinante, no tan malo como para convertirse en espectáculo por sí mismo, sino malo de esa forma mucho más peligrosa en la que una historia tiene ideas simpáticas, personajes que podrían funcionar y situaciones con potencial, pero no parece saber muy bien qué hacer con ellos durante demasiado tiempo. Hay subtramas que aparecen, ocupan espacio y se marchan sin haber dejado demasiada huella; conflictos que podrían resolverse con bastante menos rodeo; momentos en los que parece que la serie se ha olvidado de cuál era su motor inicial y decide ponerse a buscar otro por los cajones; y una segunda mitad que, por momentos, adquiere esa maravillosa energía de «bueno, todavía tenemos episodios que llenar, algo habrá que hacer».

Y, sin embargo, funciona. Maldita sea, funciona.

Funciona porque Tay Tawan y New Thitipoom tienen una química que no se puede fabricar en una sala de guionistas. Llevan tantos años trabajando juntos que ya no necesitan que el libreto les construya una relación desde cero: se miran, se interrumpen, se chinchan, se enfadan, se acercan o simplemente comparten plano y existe entre ellos una familiaridad que hace creíble casi cualquier cosa que les pongan delante. Donde el guion escribe una escena mediocre, ellos encuentran un gesto; donde el diálogo no tiene demasiada gracia, consiguen darle ritmo; donde una situación debería quedarse muerta en pantalla, aparece esa complicidad suya y, de repente, estoy sonriendo como una idiota.

Y eso es particularmente evidente con Toto y Kanit, porque sobre el papel tampoco son los personajes más complejos jamás escritos. Kanit puede ser insoportable, exagerado, caprichoso y maravillosamente dramático; Toto tiene ese punto de hombre más pragmático que intenta mantener cierta cordura mientras alrededor todo empieza a arder. La serie juega mucho con ese contraste y, cuando se limita a dejarlos interactuar, suele ser cuando mejor funciona. No necesitaba grandes giros ni conflictos especialmente ingeniosos: me bastaba con verlos juntos, porque Tay y New convierten hasta una conversación absurda en algo entretenido.

Tampoco voy a negar que parte de mi cariño hacia la serie procede precisamente de que no se toma demasiado en serio. A Dog and a Plane sabe que está jugando con situaciones ridículas, personajes un poco pasados de rosca y una lógica narrativa que, en ocasiones, merece que no hagamos demasiadas preguntas. Cuando abraza esa estupidez con alegría, me lo paso fenomenal. El problema llega cuando pretende que determinadas tramas nos importen más de lo que el propio guion se ha molestado en construirlas, porque ahí empiezan a notarse muchísimo las costuras.

La segunda mitad, además, pierde parte de la energía de los primeros episodios. Una vez agotado el impulso inicial, la serie entra en terrenos bastante menos interesantes y empieza a depender todavía más de sus actores para mantener la atención. Hay momentos en los que me daba la impresión de que Tay y New estaban cargando la serie a hombros mientras el guion iba detrás preguntando si quedaba mucho. Y ellos, los muy desgraciados, consiguen cargarla. No siempre con elegancia, porque tampoco son magos, pero sí lo suficiente para que yo siguiera disfrutando.

De hecho, ese es probablemente el mejor resumen que puedo hacer de A Dog and a Plane: si eliminas a Tay y New, no sé qué queda. Seguramente una comedia BL irregular, con un guion bastante mediocre, algunos personajes simpáticos y suficientes altibajos como para que diez episodios puedan hacerse sorprendentemente largos. Pero Tay y New están ahí, y su presencia cambia por completo la experiencia. La serie no solo depende de su química: vive de ella, come de ella y probablemente paga el alquiler gracias a ella.

¿Es buena? No especialmente.

¿Me he divertido? Muchísimo durante la mayor parte.

¿La volvería a ver con otros protagonistas? Ni aunque me pagaran.

¿Le doy un 9,5? Por supuesto.

Hay notas que pretenden medir la calidad de una obra y hay notas que miden cuánto has disfrutado viéndola. Esta pertenece descaradamente a la segunda categoría. A Dog and a Plane puede dar gracias todos los días de su existencia por haber conseguido a Tay y New, porque ellos hacen algo que el guion por sí solo jamás habría logrado: convertir una serie bastante mala en una serie que recuerdo con muchísimo cariño.

A veces el talento consiste en hacer una gran serie. Y otras veces consiste en coger una serie regulera, echarte la química a la espalda y arrastrarla durante diez episodios hasta conseguir que alguien como yo termine poniéndole un 9,5.

Terminei esse BL bem contente e satisfeita. Uma comédia romântica que não esperava nada, mas que me fez rir do começo ao fim, sem dúvida. A história é leve, divertida, cativante te descontraindo muito ali em quanto você tá assistindo.

Nunca tinha visto nada com esse casal protagonista, mas achei a química deles maravilhosa. Seus personagens eram a coisa mais hilária e caótica em toda série, deixando tudo mais dinâmico. Já o segundo casal, que conheço desde That Summer, entregaram uma química super fofa. Eu gostei de ver o Mond fazendo personagem descarado e sarcástico, combina perfeitamente com ele.

Por fim, se você estiver procurando algo para dar boas gargalhadas e se deixar levar assistindo, recomendo este BL.
