"It takes a village to raise a child"

I got so frustrated with the love triangle that was (for me) really unnecessary for most of the drama (took more than half the serie); nonetheless, last episode made it all worth it for me.
Grief is different for everybody, but going through it while you also have to take care of a child when you never have...that's truly something. I liked how both main characters made the child their priority, and got the chance to heal, grow, and fall in love during that process.
The whole community around them, the family that they all ended up forming, was really beautiful to see. I think that was my favorite part of it all.

As the african proverb says, "it takes a village to raise a child"

How come the male lead has less screen time with the female lead, I do think they actually thought people gonna have a second lead syndrome when they direcing this lol.

I like the drama.

The plot of the drama is fine. But people keep on complaining about sunbae. Honestly speaking, I'd also get a hard time choosing between the male lead and sunbae. Like he's literally perfect. Who wouldn't want such a man after you. Just that she takes her time to choose.
The female lead's acting is also fine. She's such a sweetheart.
I mean even if she's a red flag. It's what was scripted. Not her fault.
The male lead is also fine sh*t. He's cute and his acting is awosome. Plus the baby. Woo ju. He's sooooo cute like loads of cuteness. Anyways personally, I recommend the drama. It's a nice one. Heart warming

A bit better than these harsh reviews, wow!

This series is really in a three different parts. It starts out more of a dramatic with a darker tone, but eventually goes into a blend of some drama and comedy, followed by true drama with romantic storylines.
It kind of took me a while to warm up to the two protagonists, they didn't seem to have anything in the way of chemistry early on, but if you give it until the fifth episode, things do start to change for the better in all ways. The story gets more interesting, the cast begins to blend together, throw in one or two antagonists ... and from that point on, it's extremely enjoyable.
I have a feeling that some of these negative reviews were people not giving enough time to the story. In Hyuk & Jeong Eui really develop into a believable couple ... eventually. The later episodes gives the story an entirely new and fresh direction, correcting for anything you felt it was lacking early on.
The final episode is a dramatic and powerful last hour, giving you a nice conclusion to what really turns out to be a pretty good series. Things kind of go full circle, leaving you with a smile on your face at the end.
Little Woo Soo played by Yu Ho is absolutely adorable!!!

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME ?

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME 🥱

The drama had everything to be great. I devoured the first 4 episodes, but what happened from there???? Did they change the protagonist and forget to warn the audience? I didn’t feel her connection with the protagonist, much less with the child.

On the contrary, she left me frustrated by such a bad aunt. They lost the team to build a family relationship between the 3. And they made a character a sonsa, who only runs after the “first love” 🙄

I can’t wait to finish this drama. For me he was terrible, I don’t recommend it! A shame.

WORST written fl in a while

2 people closest to the leads the person both of them cared for the most
her sister and his brother Passed away In an unfair accident nonetheless

if this show was written by good writers even just this much would have been enough
to build a good story about grief and loss
with woojo being the only ray of light in their life
but it feels like they are perfectly fine after their death it's business as
usual

instead of focusing on overcoming hardships in life and a new found family, hope and a sense of belonging
they decided to focus on the stupid love triangle

the fl after being confessed to by both ml and sml
does not reject any one of them or set-up any boundaries with either of them instead
receives help and affection from both of them

and choses to ignore as if nothing happend
and the sml asks to go on dates she accepts
without rejecting the ml she's keeping both of them on the hook
it's MAD how undecisive she is

A beautifully made drama with heart, charm, and a few uneven choices

Our Universe was, on the whole, a delight. The production values are genuinely impressive—clean visuals, thoughtful framing, and a gentle aesthetic that suits the story’s emotional tone. The show also shines in its world‑building: the food production company feels lived‑in and believable, and the photography elements are handled with a quiet, artistic confidence.

The relationships are where the drama really finds its warmth. The OTP is lovely—steady, emotionally grounded once established, and easy to root for. The mature photography couple adds a welcome layer of constancy, even if their presence fades more than I would’ve liked. And the caring apartment neighbours? A small but meaningful touch that gives the show a sense of community and softness.

The ML’s backstory is one of the drama’s strengths, offering depth and emotional texture, though its resolution does land a little too conveniently. The show also stumbles around Episode 5, drifting into overly sugary territory before recovering its balance. The final episode, however, pushes Woo Joo’s guardianship storyline so far over the top that I found myself fast‑forwarding through most of it.

Even with those bumps, Our Universe remains a warm, well‑crafted watch. When it leans into connection, craft, and the small constellations people form around each other, it truly shines.

Soft, Sweet, and Underrated

I cannot believe the amount of hate this series is receiving, because honestly? It's one of the most heartwarming dramas I've seen in a long time.
What I loved:
This show is simply beautiful — soft pastel colors, warmth in every frame, and tenderness overflowing from beginning to end. At its heart, it's a genuinely touching story about learning to become a parent, and it delivers that with so much heart. The baby is absolutely adorable, and I think the show gave him just the right amount of screen time — which, let's be real, must be quite a challenge when working with such a young child on set. The ending was exactly what I hoped for: a sweet birthday celebration that felt like the perfect, earned conclusion. This is the kind of series that just makes you feel good.
What didn't quite work:
My only real hesitation was that the second male lead's storyline dragged on a bit too long and slowed the main plot down during the middle stretch — though by the end, it stopped bothering me. And on a lighter note: the female lead's outfits were... not it. At all. But that's a minor styling complaint in an otherwise lovely show.
Final thoughts:
A beautiful series in every sense of the word — cozy, comforting, and easy to love. Don't let the discourse put you off.

Our Universe: Started with Hope, Ended in Disappointment

I started watching Our Universe because of Wooju, and honestly, the drama had a really good start. It showed a range of emotions and felt promising in the beginning, which kept me going.

But as the story progressed, it slowly started losing my interest. The focus shifted more towards the female lead and the second male lead, and they were given a lot of screen time together. I understand how the story was supposed to end, but it still felt a bit unbalanced.

What disappointed me the most was Wooju’s character. I started this drama for him, but his story barely progressed as the episodes went on. It felt like his character was sidelined, which made it harder for me to stay invested.

I had pretty high expectations going into this drama, especially after the strong start, but it didn’t quite live up to them for me.

Maybe it works for others, but for me, it turned out to be a bit disappointing.

What we were sold vs. What we actually got

This series was supposed to be about U Ju, that precious baby who is, quite literally, the only thing that kept me glued to the screen until the end. He is absolutely adorable, you just want to squeeze him in every scene. but the writers decided that giving screen time to the aunt’s office flirting was more important than the actual process of grief and parenting.

The synopsis claims the aunt (Hyeon Jin) "focuses on raising U Ju." Excuse me? In what timeline? Because in the one I watched, she spends all day at the office or fooling around with her boss, while Tae Hyeong is the one actually looking after the little one and providing financial stability. I really struggled to connect with her. Her performance was bland and lifeless; her facial expressions convey as much as a blank wall. I didn't feel her pain, her love, or her struggle.

Honestly, the show should have been titled TAE HYEONG’S UNIVERSE, because he is the one who saved the day. His evolution is the only coherent part of the script: going from a photographer obsessed with control and solitude to becoming the true primary caregiver. It’s heartwarming to see how, despite his initial reluctance, he is the one actually "orbiting" around U Ju while the female lead seems to be in a completely different galaxy.

In short: A wasted opportunity. It should have been a story about two novices navigating tragedy and forced parenthood, but it ended up being the "Bland Protagonist Show," where she constantly ignores her responsibilities.

The Best: The baby. He steals every single scene and is the only reason I’m not giving this 1 star.
The Worst: The pivot toward a generic romance and Hyeon Jin’s total lack of emotional weight.

Great Disappointed drama

Honestly I really like the SML as an actor bcz of his acting skill but in this drama i started to hate him bcz of unnecessary love triangle and focus. After watching some reels on woo joo and his samcheon I was really waiting to watch this drama but turns out a great disappointment. The drama suddenly changed after some episodes and i really want to see woo joo more on screen but can't (even though not acting and just baby things) also the bonding between him and his co parents. The bg story of ML and the current story was good somehow but i just lost my interest when there is more SML focusing even when u expect ML u will find SML it's like the directors are making clown of us.

This Drama Had Potential But Missed the Mark

So... I want to start by saying that my issue isn't really with the character played by Park Seo-ham. I actually like him a lot as an actor and he was honestly the main reason I started watching Our Universe in the first place.

That being said, the real problem for me is the way the story arc is developing. The more episodes I watched, the more frustrating it became, and at some point it also just started feeling boring. Another thing that really made the experience worse for me is the FL’s storyline. Her decisions, and the way the story keeps going in circles around the same emotional beats, have become frustrating. Instead of moving the plot forward in an interesting way, it feels like the drama just keeps dragging things out.

What disappoints me the most, though, is the direction the writers chose for the plot. Instead of focusing on the incredibly heavy and meaningful situation the characters are actually in, the drama keeps pushing the love triangle, and that’s honestly the least interesting part of the story. These characters suddenly have to deal with grief after losing people close to them, and at the same time they basically become parents overnight to a very young child who just lost their own parents. That’s such a powerful and emotional premise. Watching two people trying to navigate grief, responsibility, and learning how to become a mother and father for a child in completely new circumstances could have been incredibly deep and meaningful storytelling.
Instead, the drama seems much more interested in dragging out the love triangle and giving the SML a huge amount of screen time. Tbh, it almost feels like he has more presence in the story than the actual ML, which makes the whole thing feel… unbalanced, for lack of a better word.

The story would honestly make much more sense at this point to me if the FL and the SML ended up together and there was no romantic connection between the main ML and the FL at all or maybe the SML could have just been a close friend with FL... someone whose presence triggers a bit of jealousy in ML and helps him realize his feelings for the FL. (Yes, it’s cliché, I know, but honestly it would still be better than what we have right now) instead of forcing a love triangle that takes away from the much more interesting emotional core of the story.

I really do like Park Seo-ham and I wanted to keep watching for him but the way the story is unfolding just isn’t working for me. At this point it feels more frustrating than enjoyable, so unfortunately I think I’m going to drop this drama.
