not a found family drama, more like a found frustration

This has been sold as a family drama, about two protagonists who, after losing their respective siblings, must take care of their nephew. What can I expect? What we found in the first chapters: living together without getting along, living with a baby, managing parenthood and work life...

The problem is that halfway through the drama, everything shifts to a love triangle. Where's the baby? The protagonist has no idea because she's preoccupied with the second lead. I hope the second lead actor was paid well, because he was on screen almost as much as the main lead in the second half of the drama.

I hope they stop selling me false premises in the future; I'm frustrated.

A Story That Lost Focus

The drama Our Universe had a good concept and a talented cast including Bae In-hyuk, Roh Jeong-eui, Park Seo-ham, and child actor Park Yu-ho. Sadly, the execution didn’t live up to its potential.

My biggest problem with the drama was the character balance. The female lead’s character often felt frustrating rather than relatable, which made it difficult to stay emotionally invested in the story. At the same time, the second male lead, played by Park Seo-ham, seemed to receive an unusual amount of screen time.

Because of this, the main male lead (Bae In-hyuk) didn’t feel like the true center of the story. His character had potential, but the drama rarely gave him enough moments to fully develop.

One highlight, however, was Park Yu-ho. The child actor brought sincerity and warmth to the drama, and his scenes were some of the most natural and engaging parts of the series.

i hate the female lead

when i first watched it it was awesome. I liked the plot and the baby is so freaking cute. But when the 2nd male lead appeared it became a bullshit cus why the hell do you show me his past and their love the whole episode and not the main leads(baby and ml). I watched like 4 series in one sitting but it became too boring and absolutely embarrassing. FL wasnt a good “parent” so i wont recommend this series even to just watch it for the entertainment
But the baby is so sweet. i d like more scenes of him

Save yourself the trouble and skip this one.

It really didn't live up to the hype/expectations.
It lacked any real substance.
"It was totally underwhelming."
"It was a snooze-fest." (Very boring)
For a boring plot: "It was terribly dull and had no depth."
For poor writing: "The dialogue was cringy and clichéd.
Honestly, there was nothing to write home about, and it was actually quite disappointing.

Our sunbae

First two episode were promising, good. now we are on episode 9 and it took a nose dive ever since ep 3. I don’t know what the writers and editors were thinking or what their end goal was. do they hate the ML? just curious…. Baby has been great. i can’t even wrap my head around half the things happening. every episode i feel genuine groans. why did they write a FL like this? if they wanted this plot so much, they should have made a DIFFERENT drama. FL should get with SML. yes, you read that right. NOT ML.

The truth is that this kdrama is not perfect but it is very good and entertaining

The story follows two people who, when they meet, immediately dislike each other and later are forced to live together because their siblings died and left behind a 20-month-old child whom they must take care of. Honestly, the story is very good in my opinion. At the beginning, it is a bit slow or boring, but by episode 2, everything becomes interesting. It is entertaining to see how the protagonists go from hating each other, to respecting each other, from respecting each other to becoming friends, and from becoming friends to starting to fall for each other. It is a series of the 'enemies to lovers' type, so if you like series like that, you will love this one. The acting and the chemistry between the protagonists are also very good. But there is something that is making people underestimate this series: it is the hate it is receiving.
With much respect I say this, I was reading the comments and the only thing I could see was everyone hating this K-drama, saying that the protagonist is bad, that she doesn't act well, that it is poorly developed, and everything. I am watching this series and I have realized that obviously it is not perfect, but it is a very good series. But of course, people only see the bad things and don't notice the good ones. I don't think that if they met the writer in real life they would tell him all the harsh criticism they give to the series (although I think some would be capable >v). Sometimes we only see that things are not the way we want and we don't see that actually the way they did it is much better than how we wanted. Besides, we shouldn't disregard the hard work of the writers and producers of this series, who, although they made mistakes in some things, put in a lot of effort. Well, I say all this with much respect and I am sharing my opinion about this, so if you don't agree, that's okay.

Not as good as expected.

I started watching the show after watching the cute edits of woojoo. The show started off really good, the way it showe the difference between the two sisters and the brothers' relationship was good. The 1st four episodes were really good but then came the most hated love triangle. The episodes were the sml was put at the center was a torture to watch. But the last two episodes were really good again. So, in short my love-hate relationship with this is finally over.

Biggest red flag FL

Premise was great, it had potential to become hit with simplistic story but deep message. Instead it went downhill fast.

FL is biggest red flag in kdrama land that i've seen this far. She makes promises she can't keep, she uses people and she is just bland as a character. She promises to take primary guardianship of the baby and as soon as hot man arrives, baby is forgotten to MLs care. She neglects baby multiple times and she really doesn't deserve guardianship at all. She doesn't deserve ML or the baby.

ML is classic green flag character who bends his back to prop up FL and FL throws it all to dumpster to date SML. At this point of the drama, i wish he would grow a spine and take the baby away from FL cause she doesn't really do anything to help anyways and start family of two.

SML is completely unnecessary character. He is epitome what death of creativity means in this business. He adds nothing and takes away importance from the great premise and destroys it with FL.

Conclusions:
This could've been superb unlikely family drama if it just did what the premise promised. Now it became another love triangle drama among the sea of them with nothing setting it a part. It is so shallow and disappointing.

started great and lost it totally

The first few Episodes were so good but then it deteriorated totally. It’s really sad because of the actors and specially the baby are so good. But it’s just not interesting anymore and has no real heart. I will probably watch the last episode but drop it for now. it is not a spoiler that it has a left triangle, which is totally unnecessary. I was hoping for a healing Romans or a slice of life and the Journey becoming parents and overcoming the death of their loved ones together. instead, it is a wishy-washy female lead, and the second male lead who is a good actor, but a useless character in my opinion.

Not what I was expecting

so from the summary you think you will get a heartwarming family drama focused on our little woo joo and romance between ML and FL and how they become family in the end, but you couldn't be more wrong , the drama loses its main focus mid way

it kept focusing on the FL and second ML love story rather than the main plot , which I hated.

I really didn't get why they had to make a love triangle in such a drama 😕

the little boy is what kept me going , other than that this drama was a big disappointment for me .

FROM TRAGEDY TO TOGETHERNESS

The story follows Seon Tae-hyung, a free-spirited photography assistant, and Woo Hyun-jin, a pragmatic job seeker. The two are in-laws who can barely stand each other until a tragic accident claims the lives of their siblings, leaving them as the joint guardians of their 20-month-old nephew, Woo-joo. The drama's strongest asset is its initial setup: two 'parenting novices' forced to cohabitate and navigate the chaotic, messy, and often hilarious world of raising a toddler while grieving their own losses.

Once again, Bae In-hyuk proves he is the king of 'hidden pain'. His portrayal of Tae-hyung balancing his desire for freedom with a growing, fierce love for his nephew is the emotional anchor for the show. Park Yu-ho ( playing baby Woo-joo) is a scene stealer. The moments of domestic bliss and the struggles of early parenthood felt authentic and provided the 'healing' vibes viewers craved. Also, the cinematography is crisp and warm, and the chemistry between the leads is undeniable, especially in the early episodes where their bickering turns into mutual support.

However, the second half of the drama disappointed a lot of viewers as it felt like the introduction of the second male lead was unnecessary. The plot shifted away from the 'found family' dynamic to a predictable, frustrating love triangle that ate up valuable screentime. While the show excelled at character building early on, the finale felt rushed. Major plot points, like the legal guardianship battle, were crammed into the final two episodes, leaving some viewers feeling 'hate-watched' into the conclusion. Also, the female lead's character, Hyun-jin, develops slowly, making her seem indecisive or passive compared to the more layered Tae-hyung.

In conclusion, Our Universe is a classic 'healing drama' that occasionally trips over its own tropes. If you enjoy domestic fluff, adorable baby interactions, and high-quality acting, it's a solid 7.5/10. However, if you have a low tolerance for 'second Lead Syndrome' or late-game plot holes, you might find the final episodes a bit taxing. Anyways, it's a beautiful journey about becoming a family, even if the road gets a little too bumpy towards the end. RECOMMEND IT.

FL and SML ruined it.

the beginning had potential but as soon the SML came into story it shifted into a love triangle instead of focusing on the baby.... Baby being neglected bad, Like that was supposed to be the whole story plot..... And frankly the SML and FL getting kinda corny together.... Expected better from the studio. Wasted potential.
