Cute moments but an unbalanced story

I enjoyed it overall, but I did feel a bit disappointed with how the story was balanced. The drama has a lot of charm and is still a pleasant watch. And honestly, the baby… our little star, our universe, was so incredibly cute that every scene with them instantly melted my heart. Moments like that added so much warmth to the story.
However, a lot of space was given to the second lead, sometimes so much that the main couple felt slightly overshadowed. I kept expecting more development and emotional growth between them, but their relationship didn’t evolve as much as I hoped. In the end, I still enjoyed it, I just wish the narrative had focused a bit more on the main couple and the beautiful little family they were building together.

the kid was adorable and cute he acted really amazing he was the reason i started and finished watching the drama and the only reason if im going to rewatch it again after years there was no need for two ML Actors i liked both of the but woojoo's uncle was enough and the FL actress oh my god she did not act good at all i think the kid was better in acting than her she was confused and making everyone confuse tooo she was really bad at acting i dont think i will watch any of her dramas the story could be way better it made me a bit disappointing but i liked the ML actors they were handsome and good with acting also

Good plot, bad show

First and foremost, the K-drama was very promising from its trailer and clips I saw online(which led me to watching it). The earliest episodes seemed witty and showed the complexity of relationships at times, especially with the main leads and the baby. But as the series progressed, and as the second lead started making frequent appearances. The story felt dragged and weird. It was almost as if the writers were forcing a love-triangle between the leads. Although tripe like these are very common in dramas, it felt suffocating. The kdrama is supposed to be about two in-laws trying to figure out how to live with a child, then why is it so that they keep pushing the second lead in to the picture. Why does the second lead have more screen time? Why is he always the one there for Hyun-jin during those important scenes? Why whenever the SECOND male lead has a moment with Hyun-jin, the music shifts into some cheesy OST track, while they downplay the actual male leads moments with her? It’s already obnoxiously funny that a second male lead is prioritized, but let’s be real—Hyun-jin has no backbone either. She doesn’t set clear boundaries with him. How come your boss has such easy access to your home and your nephew? It’s not just weird—it’s aggravating. If the writers liked the thought of a first-love story so bad, then they should've just switched the two male leads roles anyways. They could’ve also had the choice to make Tae-hyung and Hyun-jin have a shared childhood memory if they love living in the past. It was also weird were they kept scrutinizing Tae-hyung as a bad person for choosing himself over men who abandoned him, especially towards his father. The story line was inconsistent. One episode, she’s realizing her feelings. The next, she’s having a date with her boss. The whole show just feels like the producers were joking in our faces. Out of a 12-hour series, I probably only watched 3 hours maximum because of how many skip scenes there are. For a production that decides to use AI for intros and outros, the least you could do was fix your storyline

I'm surprised the SML wasn't the actual ML.

I first started this drama with high expectations. The baby was really cute, and I wanted to watch it to see how the baby acts, and surprisingly it was better, even better than the FL if I may add at this point. The FL didn't really portray Hyunjin as I wanted her to be. But, the main problem was the SML. Why is this guy everywhere??? Look, this show had potential if they cut down the SML screen time, and maybe changed the cast except for Tae-hyung because he's a good character. Everytime I hear the words, "Let me drive you home," from the SML I lose atleast 20 strands of hair from stress. Rewatch value is extremely low for this reason, and I usually rank shows atleast a 8, because I feel bad, but I genuinely don't do bad for this one. Woo-joo and his uncle carried the whole show. Also, I feel like the FL wasn't really showing her affection with Woo-Joo as much as her character should've portrayed it. Anyway, thats all!

It’s fine

The original film with Katherine Heigl is one of my favourite that-era romantic comedies so I was excited to watch this. It also had Seoham, an actor from one of my favourite BL shows as the 2ML. In my opinion, it could have been a shorter show, making everything a bit punchier…maybe 8 episodes? Life as we know it (the original film) was 1h55 so dragging out the story to
12 hours without any solid additions to the storyline was stretching it thin. The acting was fine, I didn’t really feel chemistry between anyone. Seoham seemed to have more chemistry with FL when he was daydreaming about her than actually in person 💀. I liked the ML, I’d probably watch him again.


EDIT: Just looked at FL’s credits and she has been in SO many dramas and graduated a theatre school? Goodness! Did she get blackmailed into this job? Why is her performance so lacklustre?

A bowl full of problems.

Okay, first of all, we need to talk about the main problem. The use of AI to make the intro, they got such expensive actors, Bae In-Hyuk and Roh Jeong-Eui. Mind you, actors of successful TV shows, but couldn't pay for someone to make the intro?!

Secondly, the TV lies about the show; they told us it would be about them, they never even mention the Second male lead, they promised us a story about a baby losing his parents and the male and female lead raising him, where did the second male lead come from, and why did he take 90% of the love story? I feel like they mixed him and the male lead in the middle of the drama?

And the cherry of the pie- Wi joo, they could have made the show about him, and no one would complain, that's how cute the baby is. Why even have an expensive actor for the male lead if you are not going to give him the love story?

But for the characters, I can't complain- Tae Hyeong had a great backstory and character build, Hyun-ju too, but who has asked for the second lead? After seeing true beauty and love song for illusion, you would understand what a real love triangle is.

The Romance Wasn't the Point

I only started this drama because my feeds were filled with clips of our favorite little baby, and I got curious. Going into it, I expected something light and cute, but I ended up appreciating how much of the story revolves around grief, family, and learning how to care for others.

From the beginning, the drama contrasts Seon Tae Hyeong and Woo Hyeon Jin really well. Seon Tae Hyeong is someone who desperately wanted a relationship with his older brother, only to realize that his feelings weren't fully returned. Meanwhile, Woo Hyeon Jin has a loving sister but chooses to live more independently and somewhat selfishly. They feel like complete opposites in the way they approach relationships and emotional attachment.

What really connected me to the drama wasn't the romance, but the way these two people were suddenly forced into becoming guardians for Seon U Ju after the death of their siblings. Neither of them knows how to raise a child, and watching them slowly adapt to that responsibility became the heart of the story for me. Their journey didn't feel perfect or overly dramatic. It felt more like watching two emotionally unprepared people gradually learning patience, sacrifice, and affection through caring for someone else.

I especially liked seeing Seon Tae Hyeong's growth throughout the drama. At the start, he came across as distant and emotionally awkward, but raising U Ju slowly brought out a softer and more caring side of him. His development felt more meaningful to me than the romantic storyline, which honestly didn't leave much of an impact on me. I also didn't care much for the second male lead storyline, since I found myself far more invested in the family dynamic than the love triangle elements.

The biggest reason I kept watching was Seon U Ju himself. Park Yu Ho completely stole every scene he was in. Knowing they mostly let him act naturally without heavily scripting him makes his performance even more impressive. A lot of the emotional warmth in the drama came from his presence, and some of the funniest moments were when he'd unintentionally create opportunities for his uncle and aunt to grow closer.

I really loved Seon Tae Hyeong and Seon U Ju's dynamic. No matter what happened, Seon Tae Hyeong always made Seon U Ju his priority, and I think that's what made their relationship the emotional core of the drama for me. Some of the most touching moments came from watching him slowly learn how to become both a guardian and a source of comfort for U Ju.

Woo Hyeon Jin... I didn't like her character as we got further into the drama. I disliked how she didn't want to let people at her workplace know she was raising her nephew along with her brother in law. Maybe outsiders would see being in a relationship with her as "baggage" because she had a nephew to raise, but the fact of the matter is that she is raising her nephew. That's her reality, and I think it's unfair to hide this from someone she's romantically interested in because she's taking away their ability to decide whether they want to continue the relationship. I also didn't like how wishy washy she could be at times, and it sometimes felt like she was taking advantage of both male leads emotionally.

What stayed with me most wasn't the romance, but the growth and the idea that family doesn't always come together in traditional ways. The drama would've worked better if its focus had stayed on watching two people slowly learn how to become a family. I honestly think writers need to understand that not every meaningful relationship needs to turn romantic. In some ways, I feel like the drama would've hit even harder if they had kept their relationship platonic, because the emotional core was always strongest when it focused on healing, family, and learning to care for one another rather than romance. I don't have the desire to rewatch the entire drama, but I would definitely rewatch my favorite scenes.

I wish I could've loved this drama

When I first read the synopsis, I thought I was getting some sort of adaptation of the movie Life as We Know It. I was so thrilled, because I was looking for a drama that wasn't just about romance.

The first episode was okay. The introduction of the characters was nothing really special, but I didn't mind. The little actor who played Woo Joo is truly the best. What a talented little kid he is. At times I even thought they used AI to alter his expressions.
All in all, episode 1 was a promise.

After episode 1, the story started to progress a bit. And then it went downhill.

Seeing the type of drama, we as viewers already expected the ML and FL to become an item, so I was unpleasantly surprised when they introduced some idiotic love triangle, starring a so-called perfect 2ML, who lacked any depth whatsoever. And why were they even focusing on this so much? The camera kept doubling back on "romantic" moments between FL and 2ML.

Honestly, just why?

Why couldn't this have been a show about two people who weren't remotely ready to become parents, struggling to keep it together? Why wasn't this about exploring family dynamics outside of conventional families? Why wasn't this a slice-of-life (à la Something in the Rain) type of drama highlighting the real-life struggles all parents go through? Why didn't we get a drama exploring real enemies becoming partners due to a greater good? Also, FL was struggling money-wise, how in the hell did she "manage so well" after having another mouth to feed, and pay for daycare?

The characters: After Woo Joo, the ML is the better character. At first he seemed like an asshole, but he was pretty consistent. He knew how to communicate his needs and feelings. Getting to know about his trauma made him more relatable. And due to that trauma he is kind of neurotic, wanting his surroundings to be just so. (I recognize this, because I am the same, we have issues, believe me). I hated that they didn't explore this more. All of a sudden this neurotic person just accepted his fate/new surroundings and went about his day as if nothing happened. Then we have a FL who was written so flat that I didn't really understand what made her tick. I truly feel the character lacked something. I found her at times to be really aloof or uninterested.
I hated that she took on the role of guardian, but then just forgot about being said guardian all the time. Yes, we all have to work, but come on. What would she have done if uncle wasn't there?

Maybe the actress lacks experience, I didn't really see or feel her pain, even though her whole world imploded. Also there was no chemistry. Not between ML and FL, or FL and 2ML. The common denominator being FL.

All in all, I was truly disappointed. The writers had such a good chance to introduce something new. Instead they went for the most basic trope imaginable and executed it in the worst way possible. Truly a shame.

That being said, I also want to address the production. Did they hire rookie interns to do the editing?

Things I noticed: 2ML and FL went on a date, we see them driving at night on their way to the date. Once they arrive at the place of the date, it's daytime again. We see ML and FL at a park with the baby. The baby is quietly playing somewhere while they talk, once the camera pans out, the baby is gone. The baby just made a mess of uncle's house, the baby is dirty all over. When uncle carries him out of the house, his clothes are miraculously clean again. I'm sure there were more, but I stopped noticing so I could finish the drama and go on with my life. But it's 2026, these mistakes aren't supposed to be this big.

Anyways, I'm not going to keep on writing. If you don't mind dramas where the focus shifts mid-drama, give this a try. Otherwise, just sit this one out and go on about your day.

Cute, but unbearably dragged out

Well, this "masterpiece" is finally over. The plot drags on painfully long: the main character’s phlegmatic nature and her endless overthinking about guys are just too much. The first love storyline is so overly sweet and unrealistically perfect that it becomes hard to take seriously. The female lead is a total disaster, with a completely emotionless acting. It’s impossible to tell what she’s feeling: joy, sadness, or nothing at all. Watching this is frankly boring and even annoying. The male lead at least tries, but it’s not enough.

On the plus side, the supporting characters are great: the neighbors are a gem, the girlfriend is great, and the friends are good too. And the real star is the baby — incredibly cute and charming. The final episodes are overloaded with drama to the point where it feels like they were trying to squeeze maximum stress out of everyone. In the end, it’s overly stretched, unconvincing, and at times annoying. And there were definitely not enough kisses.

What even WAS that?!?

These are just my opinion, please don't come at me. This review might be all over the place, because that's the way the show was.
The good:
-The baby. ABSOLUTELY the high point of the entire show. He was precious. I need to go find behind the scenes footage of how they worked with him.
-The ending was so cute with all the scenes of the baby.
The bad:
-I love Bae In Hyuk, but to me it felt like he was struggling to get through this drama.
-I don't like love triangles to begin with, but this one went on entirely too long. Plus, the FL had more scenes and chemistry with the 2ML than ML. It's not right when they spend more time on that relationship than the main relationship. Plus, the FL acted like she liked the 2ML more, until she suddenly decided to like the ML. Did the writers realize they were running out of episodes and scramble to get them back on track? Because the ML/FL relationship certainly seemed like an afterthought. NOW, I understand why people ask about triangles before watching something.
-FL acting. Bad. It felt like they filmed a bunch of reaction shots of her and then edited them in. I often felt like her scenes were her the only one there, the rest was green screened.
-Tone of the show. So many wonderful opportunities for sweetness lost. They should have focused on trying to figure out how to co-exist and raise a baby, but the baby often seemed like just a prop.
-Unnecessary drama. When the ML's dad showed up, that was a waste.
-To me, the biggest problem was FL's actions. She was trying to become a permanent employee, stayed late all the time, not giving the baby a thought. She didn't supervise him well at all. She lost him, he got injured because she wasn't watching him, she was always pawning him off on someone else to watch him. When he got taken away, I couldn't even get emotional, because that was completely justified. Plus, her extreme reaction was painful to watch because it was so poorly acted.
-They continued to call each other "in-law" even after they were a couple. Granted, the subtitles said their names, but they were definitely saying in-law. That in itself showed the lack in their relationship.

The only reason I even gave it a rating of 4 was because of the baby.

Our Universe show that it's funny, cute, and sad moments

I had started watching Our Universe korean drama show on March 1-March 13. I watched it on Kisskh website. This korean drama show is about Hyung-Jin meet Tae-Hyung when he was selling his rorman lights. they meet again when Tae-Hyung find out about his brother is marrying Hyung-Jin's sister. It makes them both sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Hyun-Jin decided to take care of her nephew, Woo-Joo. Tae-Hyung and Hyun-Jin both have a crush on each other. It took Hyun-Jin to realize her feelings and her love for him. I find Our Universe is funny when Tae-Hyung is pulling Woo-Joo while he was in the trash can. poor Woo-Joo carry by Tae-Hyung. it's cute that Woo-Joo is yawning in episode 1. I like Hyun-Jin and Woo-Joo is hugging in episode 2. it's funny Hyun-Jin see Woo-Joo and Tae-Hyung calls his sister-in-law honey in episode 2. I like that Hyun-Jin tells Tae-Hyung about the checklist and a check-in with Woo-Joo. it's funny that there's a video that embarrass to Hyun-Jin in episode 3. it's funny that Hyun-Jin and Tae-Hyung both realized that they were drunk in episode 4. it's funny that the two little kids attacked their tent down in episode 5. It's cute that Tae-Hyung is getting Woo-Joo ready for day care/child care in episode 6. It's cute that Tae-Hyung and Woo-Joo is sleeping together in episode 8. it's funny how Moo-Saeng say to Gyu-Jeong he is single and forever alone in episode 9. it's cute Woo-Joo have a show in episode 10. It's finally Hyun-Jin confess her feelings for Tae-Hyung. it's funny that Tae-Hyung say he is Hyung-Jin's boyfriend in episode 11. I didn't like it when Hyun-Jin hide Tae-Hyung and Woo-Joo in episode 5. I didn't like it how Tae-Hyung slam the plate of meat when Hyun-Jin gave it to him. I didn't like it when Hyun-Jin's coworkers think she's a spy in episode 7. I do agree with Tae-Hyung saying that is bullying. I didn't like how the child service lady say that Hyun-Jin is neglecting Woo-Joo in episode 12. I feel she still care when she checks on Woo-Joo when he starts crying.
