You're My Cup Of Tee!

I don't really write reviews here, but this drama really made me wanna write one!

Let me start off by saying that I don't even watch Thai BLs. I only started watching DWY a few days ago, and this is literally my first time watching a thai bl. So, my thoughts are as unbiased as it gets.

Long story short :
A few days ago I randomly decided to watch a thai bl drama, and now my whole brain chemistry has been altered. The couple now have me on a chokehold, and this drama has become one of my most favorite dramas ever (BL or non BLs alike)!!

Long story long :
I've been seeing the poster of this drama on the homepage of the website I usually watch my dramas at. After ep10 came out and I saw it pop up on my feed again, I got curious about it and decided to look it up. Once I did, I was very surprised at how high the ratings were. It made me wonder if this drama really is something deserving of such high ratings, or if this is just some overrated drama rated by crazy fanatics. (no offense😭)

So I decided to give it a shot and see what the hype is all about. FYI, until that moment I knew NOTHING about this drama, or any other thai bls whatsoever. The only thing I knew was the name. I knew nothing about the actors, never saw any clips or anything. I was entering with a very blank slate.

I started watching with pretty low expectations. In fact, I didn't even think I would like this, because this wasn't really my cup of tea. As I was watching the first episode, I kept thinking how this is reallyyyy not my cup of tea. Duang's overly cute acting, the sound effects, etc was pretty much borderline cringe to me. But I wanted to watch at least 1-2 episodes before I decide whether or not I wanna continue or drop it.

I tried to tune out the cringe factors tried my best to focus on the drama. Once I was able to get over the initial cringing, I was sucked into duangqin's universe pretty fast. Next thing I know, I had already finished binging all 10 episodes!

And then I was losing my mind for ep11, which was still 3-4 days away. The wait was KILLLING MEEE!! Over the few days I kept replaying my favorite scenes, trying to keep myself sane. I swear I have not been this desperate for a drama episode in YEARS!! I don't even remember the last time a drama made me feel THIS desperate (and I've been watching them for almost a decade now).

So, that should tell you how much of a hold this drama had on me😭

Now let me talk about the drama itself. The story is honestly nothing exceptional. Just a regular campus romance, golden retriver vs cold guy. But what makes it exceptional is the execution.

What made it really work for me was the chemistry. They have one of the best chemistries I've ever seen, BL or hetero couples alike!! I could feel the love they have for each other from just how they look at each other. Every hug, every kiss, made me blush and giggle like a middle school girl😭 seriously, kudos to TeeTee and Por for giving us such insane chemistry!

Duang is the puppiest of all puppies. Qin is the tsundere-est of all tsunderes. Together they're one of the healthiest couples I've ever seen. No unnecessary drama or misunderstandings, no toxicity, just love and fluff all over.

The characters, especially Duang, is so lovable. He is literally one of the greenest flags I've ever seen. The way he relentlessly keeps trying to win Qin's heart without ever breaking any boundaries is so endering. Even after they start dating, he never does anything until he is permitted. Why is he so precious? 🥹

While Qin not agreeing to date until much later may seem frustrating at first, we can see why he took his time. He is still a baby who's been starving for some love since he was young. He is scared of getting his heart broken once again. But once he finally did open his heart to Duang, we could see just how equally adorable he is and how much he loves Duang too.

The acting, especially TeeTee's, is honestly so impressive. It couldn't have been easy for him to act like this overly excited puppy 90% of the times. But he pulled it off so well. And the way he can pull off serious scenes equally well. His versatility really amazes me! On the other hand, Por does an amazing job at acting like a tsundere. I d1e every time he acts shy ;_;

Now, the music. Every single song is so beautiful, and they really make the drama even better. I didn't even know that they sang some of the OSTs themselves!! I only found out that they're idols after watching the 11th episode asgsghshd. This just made me love them even more🥹

Ok seems like my "review" (more like my essay on how I fell in love with DWY and TeeTeePor) is already 5 million miles long. Let me wrap this up.

In case it wasn't obvious already, I have fallen head over heels in love with Duang With You!! No other drama has made me feel this good in a really long time. I don't usually rewatch dramas, but this really has become my comfort drama and I will probably be rewatching this every now and then.

PS. I initially gave this a 9.0, but then I decided to make it 9.5 instead!

I should say that I have kind of a high standard. Out of the 350+ dramas I've watched so far, I've only given 10/10 to 3 dramas, and 9.5/10 to 7 of them. That should say just how much I loved Duang With You!

Finally, a Sweet & Easygoing BL Like the Old Days

After such a long time, it actually feels so refreshing to watch something this easygoing and sweet , it really gives those 2019-era vibes where dramas were just simple, fun, and comforting.

Yeah, it’s kinda predictable, but honestly that’s part of the charm. The funny characters, those clingy cheesy pickup lines, the loud chaotic energy, and that golden retriever × black cat dynamic — it just works so well.

With so many heavy and hectic BLs lately, this college drama feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s just easy to watch and genuinely enjoyable without stressing you out .

Best bl of the year??

I cannot stress enough on how much I was looking forward to this series since the pilot dropped and guess what, it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. Trust me I've never been this hooked over a series before. Every week has been a painful wait for another episode to drop only to mope in despair for the rest of the week. Duang With You is THAT series. I honestly would've never expected that I'd like characters who acts all cute and whiny (I find this really cringe) but Duang seems to be an expection. The show does have its cringy moments. Like the second leads, Otto, speaking English (I just couldn't 💀) but the storyline and everything else makes up for it. I love how Qin, despite being portrayed as a stoic, reserved character, still manages to hold proper communication with Duang who overthinks a lot. Which is understandable especially when Qin seemed to barely show any interest in Duang in the beginning. After they talked and cleared up the misunderstanding, Qin seems to be putting more effort into them and the fact that he's clear in what he wants and feels for Duang is so refreshing. I can't believe the series is ending soon. It has been a wonderful few months of constant looking forward to. Whoever watches this after it's done airing is super lucky!

ITS SOOO PEAKKK saturdays are amazing because that just means a new episode of dwu is outtttt istg it fills something in my heart that hasn't been filled, its so darn cute, every damn episode i'm geeked out. if you love golden retriever v. black cat this is your cup of tea. its so cute how duang is always chasing qin and hes just a chill guy not giving a f. but u can tell throughout every episode that they have this unmatched connection with one another. duang taught me to authentically be yourself, he really doesn't gaf about what others think and is just chasing his man. ahhh hes such a cutie HIGHLY HIGHLYYY REOCMMENDDD best bl dare i say of 2026 def my comfort show i love duang and qin cant wait for new episodes;)))

I like this drama so muchhhhh
I also attached to the character this drama shows about parenting, friendship mainly relationship so good they explained it very well. I mainly attached to the character qin/chin because it representing me i think because i have problem i cann't express l feel also iam not good at words also so that i really love this drama became for the qin/chin want a person like duang. For me cann't find duang if i find person like himm or similar to himm i will fall for him like qin/chin did. Also the production, visual, comedies also so good also romance seen so good and hot 🫣 also por played very well also when qin/chin give a expression to duang, to me that expression means,come on to eat me its give me butterfly in stomach also about Teetee also played well so well i think he acted the character duang like him also its eyes expression gives me........ 🤭. Overall i liked this drama very muchhh. Must watch. But iam sad because duang with you going to end today(18.04.2026) iam going to cryy and please give us some special episodes plssss 🙏. Duang with you is sooo cuteee

How much I loveee Duang with you, I feel like I look forward to every saturday cuz of dwy. It has genuinely made my weeks better and it definetly made me smile a lot more than I normally would. I also love how Duang and Qin became eachother’s safe spaces and how much their relationship evolved from EP1. Love how they didn’t avoid talking about some problems with eachother. Also the casting is perfect and the acting. I honestly wouldn’t be able to see anyone else portraying all of the character so well. Overall I think that Duang with you is very worth watching and if you still haven’t, you should.

on the topic of humanity and love

i remember telling my friend we should give dwy a try as nothing else was really airing and i has seen one clip on tiktok that looked fun enough. that small decision led me into 11 weeks filled with these characters and their beautiful story.

what started as a goofy bl ended up being one of the most realistic, natural and tragically lovely shows i've ever seen. i was a little worried about how the serious scenes would look with someone like duang around, but it is true that the goofier the start the more heartbroken you get to the end. i never expected to cry with this show, but cry i did. a lot of it. duang's love, far from being a childish crush, feels like an overwhelmingly warm ray of sunlight in qin's lonely world. everything about this show is an act of love - friends, family and lovers. love moves this show, and it does it so well.

i'd like to ask those who have dropped this to please give it a second chance to really learn who duang and qin are. i wish i could forget this show so i could watch it again. in just a few weeks duang with you has become my favorite tv show of all times.

You either hate it or you love it and you’re obsessed. There’s no in between

This review is for people who are yet to watch it.

First of all I’ll like to sympathize with anyone that didn’t watch this drama while it was airing . Just as the title suggests “Duang with you”, this series was literally with us . This series had one of the healthiest fandoms I’d ever seen . The conversations we had , the edits , random comments… Duang with you was more than a series , it was an experience.

Now you have the second opportunity to watch this series and as you’re watching it , you might feel it’s overrated but I promise you it isn’t . This series was rated based on how we all felt for 12 weeks . This is one of the few series that each episode was better than the last . We watched them fall in love . By the final episode it was so obvious how much they loved each other .

The series has a very simple story line yet it was able to handle complex characters and situations. The first few episodes were a bit cringe but at some point we got into it and it was so cute . I beg you to give it 5 episodes and if you still don’t like it , then the series isn’t for you .

Everything about this series was great ! The storyline, pacing, acting and music . The only part that was a bit lacking was the story of the second couple . I feel like as much effort wasn’t put into their story as the main couple but that’s fine … you can’t have it all .

This series tackles , love at first sight, friendships, situationships, childhood trauma etc .
This drama is officially top 2 on my favorite Bl dramas and it’s not number 2.
This drama proves that sometimes, less is more . They had a simple story and made it great . Better than having a complex story and it’s up messy with poor pacing .

Side feelings : I wish all the actors the very best in their careers and would always root for them ❤️
They’re quite young and so I hope their spark doesn’t die and they realize how talented and special they are 💐

The most charming Thai BL I've seen

First of all, I want to start this off by saying that I don't watch bl series that have anything else but very enthusiastic consent, and that includes one character being pursued by the other as well. So, when I started watching Duang With You, needless to say I was really put off by the first 2-3 episodes...
If you're like me, I'm begging you to watch on, those first episodes are very misleading. This show absolutely fulfills my requirement of enthusiastic consent.
I would go as far as to say that people who think Qin isn't into what Duang's doing are reading his character wrong - he shows his affectionate in a more subtle way, but the show explicitly says that Duang would stop pursuing him if that would make him uncomfortable, and Qin explicitly says that he is fine being purused by Duang.
So that's that. Duang is a little crazy, but he's not harrassing Qin and I am genuinely baffled by this reading of these characters.

Anyway, this show is insanely cute. I really loved all characters, but Duang's mannerisms and speech is especially charming.

And the sound effects!! I never thought I'd be praising the sound effect in a thai bl drama one day, as if anything they tend to be quite cringy, but in this one? Literal perfection. Whoever came up with those "pip pip pip pip Qiiin~" and "tee tee tee tee Duaaang~" jingles needs an award. Possibly multiple awards.

Not Just Good .. It's The Best

The warmth, relaxation, and comfort this series gave was phenomenal. I can't even move on from it for now. I haven't felt this way for so long. It’s all thanks to the writer for such a beautiful story, and to the director for making it come to life in such a perfect way.

And last but not least, the main actors conveyed the characters' depth very well even though they are new faces with such little experience. I can assure you that no one else could have played Duang and Qin as TeeTee and Por did. They were literally living the characters and acted with so much depth. I can't even imagine 'Duang With You' without them. And yes, they weren't great in every aspect of their acting, yet they successfully delivered every feeling and meaning the characters were meant to tell us such as the warmth, freshness, emotional depth, the cheesy yet cute moments, and being light and fun but still serious enough when needed.

In my opinion, this is the best BL series for me in recent years. There are undeniably a lot of great BL series with exceptional qualities, from production to acting details, but I can guarantee that no other series was able to pull off the same vibes as 'Duang With You' did in the same genre. I just adore this series and every part of the crew.

Some Extra Notes For Nostalgia:
I even remember the first time I found the 'Duang With You' Pilot (yes, not the trailer) and how I was literally hooked and rooted for it all the way. I vividly remember that was the time when Khemjira ended and 'Duang With You' just popped up in my YouTube recommendations. The view counts weren't that impressive back then and I didn't even recognize TeeTee and Por from 'Your Sky' because I didn't follow it that much. In fact, DWY had some of the lowest views among all the other DMD lineups at the same time (I'm not sure if it was for 2025 or 2026). But I gave the pilot a try anyway and it was literally my cup of tea, and I was so determined to watch this series for sure. Even though Khemjira didn't live up to my expectations, it still had such great production so I had no doubt that DMD wouldn't fail with 'DWY' either. Now that the series has ended, it's all part of the journey. I'm so delighted to see 'Duang With You' receive all the love and attention it deserves. Maybe I’m exaggerating with all the words, but I am more than satisfied with the results DWY achieved. I’m just glad I was there from the very start. This is just a side note for some nostalgic feeling.
