Honest review, no hate intended
I read the book before watching the series, and to be honest, I think the series could’ve been done better. It felt too short and a bit rushed. No offense at all, the actors, actresses, and crew did an amazing job, and I really appreciate their hard work. But some scenes felt too long while others didn’t quite make sense. The overexaggerated injury scenes especially came off a little cringe. That said, I loved episode 9, the part where Rin cried and begged her father to find Khem? That scene was top tier acting. I really felt her emotions. I had high hopes that the final episode would hit just as hard, but sadly, it didn’t meet my expectations. It felt emotionally flat.
It also seemed like they focused more on love scenes to attract viewers rather than digging deeper into the actual storyline. Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry was great. But for me, I didn’t come just for that. I felt more connected to the book than the series.
Again, no hate at all. I know how much effort the whole team put into this. I just wish the series captured the depth and intensity of the book more closely.
If you haven’t read the book yet, please do. It’s truly worth it.

Freakiest GL with the most insane chemistry.
As someone who loves arranged marriage trope with loads of angst and one sided yearning for the other person, i randomly stumbled upon this while searching for a good series to binge - with the first three air's of DL my heart was at sink, it was painfully good with having June (the mommy who can heal my gay withdrawal syndromes just by having her beside me LOL) that i ended up reading the book and also finished reading it in 2 nights including the special book too - already a crazy story to belive, right? i know! But i had so many things bottled up while reading it, i felt angered, i felt anxious, i felt happy all together- it was a different kind of feeling, If we see it closely it was all about Rin’s POV all along , i usually hate the dramas where lead stays hungs between their past and present and hurts the other party who ain't in the fault at all, but, this, this freaking drama unintentionally had something which i just couldn’t help but be hooked on it on it’s every airs even after reading the book. I have a hate-love relationship with Rin but THANK GOODNESS screen writers paid enough attention to her ckt in the adaption, 📙 Rin was messed, horrible, heartless, unbothered AND pathetic. (Im sorry but it’s the truth😭) the video tapes that Rin records at the end of every episodes, it makes me hate her less , i actually like her after those dairies tbh and be pity with her,as a emotionally fool who still cares about the warmth part of a relationship instead of the bad things
enjoyer seeing June bringing Rin life to it, she did absolute justice to it, i could actually feel like snapping her out and slap her too in times whenever she behaved so ignorantly towards Khem’s obvious feelings like the book Rin (the actor she is - Hahaha) but no matter how much i say, i love Rin (again cz of June) the person who has my heart from the very beginning of the show, is definitely Khem, that kid is someone i really need in my life (but dear girls, never be her irl ) she keeps hoping and be hung on the relationship where there's no hope of a beautiful future at the end of it, very honestly it’s toxicology hopeless, and it hurts like hell too. At the end only EnjoyJune's chemistry saved the drama for me which had nothing except the same back and forth and be in denial of the growing feelings till the end of the story, the director did sloppiness with directing it too and gosh never letting the girls kiss properly LIKE WHATS THE EFFING DEAL!? They had so much sexual chemistry and the depth was certainly visible through their actions, so wished they'd explored more of their bedroom eyes chem rather than putting those weirdly annoying moaning sounds - LET THEM DO THE WORK, THEY CAN DO MUCH BETTER FROM THOSE SOUNDS 😩 also crazy how they added the non existing pool scene (which again wa the crazy setup, everything felt so perfect except the direction😭) but couldn't bother to add the special book scene where Rin proposed her sincerely and more romantically ,
THEY COULD'VE ATLEAST ADDED THE SCENE WHERE THEY WERE SEEN SITTING TOGETHER WATCHING THE STARS IN THE BEACH (THAT SCENE WAS PURE GOLD) the director was extremely lazy ig nonetheless , a good actually a CRAZY watch DL was, im not going to get over them so sooner, until we have next of EnjoyJune , DL is the deal for me. No matter how chopped it is, it’s an addiction i cannt help but be surrendered to it. And Ahhhhh Top Rin can heal so many wounds, i would trade anything just to have her .:/

Denied Love: The Tease That Never Delivered
The premise is interesting—arranged marriage with inheritance threats—but the execution is frustrating. This show is toxic as hell. Rin starts as a straight-up mean ice queen who borders on emotional abuse toward Khem - she was even hurting my feelings lol. Khem's puppy energy feels forced and even cringy at times. Both characters are emotionally unavailable in their ways, missing every opportunity for genuine vulnerability. The pacing felt off. We're stuck in this repetitive hot-and-cold cycle that got old fast—two steps forward, three steps back, constantly. The storyline felt shallow, going in circles with seriously delayed satisfaction.
The chemistry between EnjoyJune is there, but the story leans too heavily on it instead of actual substance. Even their steamy moments feel like they're trying too hard to be sexy rather than being naturally passionate. The whole show felt like a tease with no satisfying conclusion. That is to say, there was a conclusion, but I didn't feel satisfied in terms of the romance. It was as if it ran out of steam.
The production value felt low-budget at times (audio issues and muffled mics), and those random vlogs both characters do are just awkward exposition dumps that never amount to anything. Too much telling, not enough showing.
The acting is believable, which kept my attention. Rin does redeem herself eventually, but it felt too little too late. Despite all its shortcomings, it did have me blushing and giggling throughout and somehow kept me coming back for more. I loved it when Rin finally redeemed herself and her being vulnerable with her father and then later with Khem. However, the momentum was bumpy and just felt inconsistent.
Chemistry Rating: Warm and Cute (Scale: Hot AF, Steamy, Warm and Cute, Lukewarm, Cold) Great potential hampered by poor execution.

A Letdown Despite Promising Leads
I had high hopes for Denied Love, especially with its rising leads who have great off-screen chemistry. Sadly, the series didn’t live up to its potential. The storyline felt disjointed, relying too heavily on romance scenes that lacked proper direction and emotional depth. Instead of enhancing the plot, they felt forced , and too much of a good thing quickly became dull.
Dialogue often led nowhere, and overall, the writing, character development, and cinematography seemed poorly thought out. It’s frustrating, because the ingredients were there for something truly impactful.
Denied Love could’ve been much more, and that’s what makes it so disappointing.

A Love Denied, A Masterpiece Delivered
I love how they made this series. While the book talks a lot about lovemaking, many viewers expected to see intimate kissing scenes—but I don’t believe that should always be the focus just to gain attention. This show goes much deeper—it speaks of love, respect, sacrifice, and the importance of giving and receiving value. From my personal perspective, the series held my attention without relying on excessive romantic scenes. Unlike others that use intimacy as bait to draw in viewers (no offense—I understand it’s a common strategy), Denied Love took a more meaningful path. They could have used more exact lines from the book, but even so, they executed it so well that I went through a bunch of tissues during the emotional scenes.
The director did an exceptional job and truly deserves a Best Director award. And honestly, both June and Enjoy should be recognized with Best Actress awards for their powerful performances.

A Refreshing and Entertaining GL Series
An arranged marriage in a GL series feels so original and different! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Khem and Rin – they truly have that “cat and dog” kind of personality that balances each other so well. Even though it’s only the first episode, the acting is already solid and not at all cringe. The actresses have great chemistry, and I’m already convinced by their pairing.I had such a good time watching the show. The relationship between Rin and Khem is messy, but so entertaining! I especially liked Rin because we get to see her emotions clearly, and how Prapai and Khem’s actions affect her feelings. June, who plays Rin, is incredibly talented and conveys her character’s emotions so well.
I also really liked Khem because she genuinely made me laugh several times. And Prapai… what a character you just love to hate!
I definitely recommend this series if you want something light, easy to watch, but still emotionally engaging.

Love a good underdog
The show emerged unexpectedly and awakened the Thai GL space during the drought. Great acting, captivating storyline and the chemistry between the two leads is outstanding. Shout out to the team behind the scenes, the Marketing and PR has been amazing. Wishing Enjoy and June successful careers within the GL spaceWas this review helpful to you?

Triumph of the heart!
"For starters, I don’t watch every GL series out there, but this one is exceptionally good. Some people might find it cringey because of Enjoy’s character, who acts like a clingy puppy. But for those who want to enjoy smiling the whole time while watching and love stories about one-sided love that warms a cold heart, this is definitely for you." No spoilers here, but I want to give credit to the main stars, Enjoy and June. Both portrayed their characters really well.Enjoy captured the nuances of being a clingy puppy — and yes, it can feel cringey, but that’s exactly how the character was written in the novel, and she brought it to life perfectly.
Now, let’s talk about June Nannirin’s performance. To be honest, she came out of nowhere — most people didn’t even know her. At least Enjoy had been seen in some supporting roles, but June just appeared suddenly in this series... and what a surprise blast she was. I honestly don’t think anyone else could’ve portrayed her character as well as she did.
She completely nailed the nuances of a classy CEO who’s secretly in love but afraid to show or admit it. The way she shifts from grumpy to shy and then smiles? Perfect. The subtle expressions during the love scenes — did anyone notice how she bites her lips? It’s both sexy and adorably vulnerable.
How can people not fall in love with June after this? She made this character feel like the kind of love people dream about. When she cried, it wasn’t just tears — you heard the emotion, like how a real person would cry. She embodied Kun Rin: sexy, charming, and classy — and fans love her even more because she seems to genuinely carry those traits in real life too.
I’m definitely going to be waiting for more series from these two amazing artists. Next time, I hope it’s June–Enjoy rather than Enjoy–June! It’s clear they’re besties in real life, and that genuine bond makes their on-screen chemistry feel so natural. After watching a GL series where both of them starred, it’s easy to support them even more.
And yes... I’ll admit it — I’m totally biased toward June Nannirin!

Underrated
Denied Love is an absolutely beautiful series, filled with emotions and twists that keep me hooked from the start. Every scene feels perfect, making it impossible not to fall in love with the story, the characters, and the way it captures the pain and beauty of love. It’s the kind of series that stays in your heart long after you’ve watched it, leaving you wanting more. Was this review helpful to you?
