I know right? I have been enjoying this so far but I genuinely do not feel the chemistry between the three friends.…
I like the three friends so far. Especially that scene where they ruined kid's reputation at a bouncy house. And FL's friends have a purpose here at least, they're not just a filler. Each of them suffers and climbs the ladder in their respective service fields. And when they come together they unwind and become themselves.
I dunno what people are complaining about here. It looks like a very funny, lighthearted and well made rom-com so far. A much better start than most of this year's dramas. I hope it lasts, I've been waiting for some good rom-coms.
My personal tiny complaint is - stop using that same manor house over and over again! You know which one I'm talking about, it's been featured in like 5+ kdramas already since last year.
A very solid action drama for the first 6 episodes. But it was as if they've started a very rushed part 2 in the last two episodes. A whole new host of characters was introduced, FL was swapped with another girl, police suddenly got all the evidince on the bad guy in like 10 seconds of screen time and made him go on the run, the last stand off went out with a wimper. The main two guys had basically no character development, they only trained harder to box.
I dunno, a 7.5 from me. Fighting scenes were nicely done at least. Would recommend it to those who love to see some nicely built naked muscle.
P.S. This has got to be the only kdrama that incorporated covid into the plot. All the other dramas of that period were avoiding any mention of it or wearing masks, which is good in the long run. Nobody wants to remember that crappy time when rewatching dramas after some years. But I also lol-ed at FL going to Rome during covid. Italy was a real covid breeding ground, one of the worst places to visit at that time.
Where is the Parasite that got an Oscar and other awards? This list looks like a lot of subjective imho based on particular preference - action genre. And if we're talking about personal favorites, here are mine: -Bichunmoo -Old Boy -Exit -Extreme Job -Miss & Mrs. Cops -Parasite -Honest Candidate
And it's all justified, because living expenses and childcare expenses are crazy high there. Even after successfully passing through all the competitive giant stress that is their education system, younger generations still struggle earning enough income to care for themselves and live apart from their parents, let alone raising children of their own. Big problem in East Asian countries is an outdated seniority system, where people are promoted not by merit, but by their age/time spent at the job. And also very late retirement age. Which leads to continued old geezers' domination in most seats of power, with highest salaries, and outdated views on how to run business and country in general.
That's why I was appalled to see these two NEET knuckleheads going the shotgun wedding route here. No prospects for the future, not a single thought in their empty heads. All the burden of caring for their new family will definitely lay on their relatives forever and it's just utterly disgusting for me on a personal level, because I've seen such lazy loafers in real life. They never learn and selfishly continue leeching off of their relatives.
The cafe where ML got drunk was featured in Gaus Electronics. Then I remembered how young chaebol character in that kdrama was doing the same cringey kdrama pick-up lines to have a girl he had a crush on to like him. But it was way more hilarious, because he even researched them extensively and got help rehearsing them 🤣. If you want to watch a funny rom-com I can recommend it.
ML kinda half-assed his confession, but FL considerately gave him slack. They were quite cute in the end.
But the ending was so-so for me. This drama is a kaleidoscope of failed relationships and call me a cynic but I'm not seeing a bright future for most of those couples: -Yu Jung and her lazy ass husband finally talked it out and have delved into role playing games to spice things up, but watch them get bored in a couple of years again. The husband will be the first because he is just lazy by nature and takes his wife for granted. And the wife needs constant affirmation of their love.
-FL's spoiled brat of a sister just didn't give me the vibe that she truly loves the guy, she just goes with the flow in life. A NEET and a minimal wage worker, they are a staple divorce statistics example, so often stories such as these happen. Since they don't even know each other well or what they want to do with their life I think in a couple of years she's gonna start blaming the guy for ruining her life and gonna end up a divorcee with two kids, continuing living off of her relatives. If I were FL I would have given her an earful and kicked her out of the "bird's nest" long ago to get a taste of real life. Or at the very least made her pay rent. I really dislike lazy loafers like these, have seen them in real life and they just never learn to live on their own due to continued coddling.
-U-Ri and CEO...just why and how the ef? I don't even think CEO really fell in love with U-Ri, no chemistry whatsoever. He just didn't want to end up alone in his age and used her puppy love to his benefit. Too bad his ex wife didn't want to get back together with him, would have been a better fit. I don't know what else to say besides it being cringe.
-That bitchy bride friend of FL's is gonna get divorced in a couple of years as well. Pressured an unready guy into marriage, yeah, that's gonna end well.
-The chicken sh*it of an ex his current gf - not gonna happen. At this rate the guy is going to end up forever alone, he really needs to dial himself down by a lot.
-ML's ex and her husband - not really seeing it either. She clearly didn't know what she wanted and gonna question and beat herself up until her husband will get sick of it.
-ML and FL...they will probably be ok? ML really struggled to convey his feelings until the very last, but judging by his behaviour in the end he seemed to have overcome it, he became all lovey dovey with her. And FL is not going to ditch ML, because where else will she find a guy who likes her no matter all the embarassing stuff she constantly gets herself into. Personally, I think the lead couple was the most natural in development and healthiest of all of this drama's relationships. Their bonding through similar ordeal allowed them to really get to know and understand each other, which I can't say for many of the other couples of this drama.
Overall, a 7/10 from me. I really loved YIN's performance, she really carried the show and managed to pull off various aspects of her character, ranging from really embarassing ones to very mature ones, with effortless grace. I can imagine it must have been difficult though, because her character had to stay likeable while being very flawed. And some of the show's dialogues were real gems, full of witty banter and meaningful one liners. But still: -1 point for cringey U-Ri and CEO couple. -1 point for trainwreck of a shotgun couple. -1 point for too much screen time and tears wasted on Mr. Trash.
I like this actor a lot, he has range. But I don't like saeguks, they're mostly boring and repetitive. The only exception for me if there's some fantastical element to them, like, for example, Alchemy of Souls, Kingdom, Mr. Queen. So I'm not sure about this drama.
True but Bo Ra could also have said something especially when her ex kept spinning the truth!
She showed her spunk at the end of the episode. I liked what she said about ML's inability to verbalize his feelings all the while giving green flag signals. Any woman would get confused.
The only responsible thing they can do for themselves and their relatives is an abortion. But looks like they're…
Are you one of those anti-abortion lobbists? Get real, without outside help this couple has no means not only to support the baby, but also themselves. They can't suddenly pick up the slack - they're immature and have no prospects in life. The girl is a NEET going with the flow and living off of her sister, the guy is a minimal wage worker. No education from both of them. Imagine how they gonna raise a child in these conditions? Won't they regret it later? Divorce statistics say it's gonna end in disaster. Living expenses are very high in SK, raising a child even more so. And the girl doesn't even look all that in love with the guy. She gives the vibe of a girl who's gonna ditch the child on her relatives, dump the guy and continue clubbing.
So the most responisble thing is to get an abortion, actually get to know each other to decide whether marrying is even a good decision, get an education and steady income.

She couldn't even insert two cents at the cafe, her ex was agressively mowing down ML and even followed him outside. When ML returned he already made up his mind to give up and then left. He felt hurt, but FL was also in the right to feel hurt by his sudden change of attitude. I was on her side when she was telling ML off at his work. FL is waiting for ML, ML is assuming all the wrong things about her. Classic kdrama tropes for the usual angst before hooking up.
