I think episode 3 was kind of weak and filler-ish compared to the first 2. The episode dragged on too much waiting…
In that scene her desperation was about the demon latched on to her. They were after the girl because they believed she had met with her dad or something to the effect. She had also just blacked in the fish store so she was scared for herself. But her financial worries are also important in the sense that it's affecting her emotionally which makes her weaker against the demon (and the suicide tree ghost in this ep.)
Tbh my least favorite aspect of the drama is the procedural/detective story. I feel like the show could do without it (plus I don’t usually like procedural shows unless they are character focused like Flower of Evil) and it'd still be good. But maybe it'll turn out necessary later on.
so, was it a fight of the ghosts? Our main villain ghost won right
pretty much. The way I see the end is the demon was threatening to drop the fish into the river cause it knows the tree/suicide ghost was in the fish lol
I am enjoying the drama BUUUUTTTTTT!!!!!! These long drawn-out scenes are driving me crazy!!! How long do we have…
I think episode 3 was kind of weak and filler-ish compared to the first 2. The episode dragged on too much waiting to end on the twist. The ending was great but the build up to it was a bit boring.
"who is in their right mind after being hunted down by some psycho dressed like a woman?" I think the point here is that San Young is also not in her right mind, she is also getting desperate. I think the show is doing well in showing us her desperation when it comes to her financial worries but not enough in regards to the demon (so far. This episode ampt it up more since up until ep 2 she didn't believe she had a demon latched onto her).
Revenant #1 on KinoLight for Jun 29 (four days straight #1)https://twitter.com/ottranking/status/1674233559979270145?s=46
I think it'd be a great idea to have a discussion post where to archive/add links of every achievement the drama gets (no thanks to SBS or Disney+ promotion pff).
I accidentally began the show on episode 4 (didn't even realize until almost the end) because the website I watch on took me there when I clicked on the title, yet I was still immediately captivated. The directing style is so distinct, it gives the show a great ambiance and makes you feel connected to what the character is feeling. The camera work almost feels like you're watching a slice-of-life drama but in a mystery genre. I don't know how to explain it. The drama has a slow pace but it doesn't feel like it's dragging, it just pulls you in.
The acting is great, the production and writing quality is great, sound design really good too. Why is this at a 7.9?
Quote from an 2019 Kim Eun Hee, the screenwriter of Revenant, interview: She explained, “I don’t believe in…
I'm not getting any romantic vibes between any of the characters. It's only been two episodes. I think often times tension is automatically read as romantic tension when it's not instantly revealed why there's tension between two characters.
She does know how to build interesting rapport between characters, and with some it does include romantic feelings. In Signal the FL had feelings for the second ML though it was mostly one-sided, but she also had interesting chemistry with the younger ML (not gonna lie I low-key shipped them lol). In Kingdom, there was nothing romantic. In Revenant, only time will tell.
NEED to know what happened during their high school days
oh, yeah Re-watching their scene in the pilot she kind of did, she asked "we've met before, right?" but he didn't answer her. So maybe she doesn't remember his face exactly from that moment in high school since the sun behind him impeded her vision. I think he does remember her. I guess if she doesn't remember him that well then there isn't much history between them other than that one moment in high-school (which I still think could be somewhat a negative moment just by the framing of the scene).
This drama keeps giving creepy romance vibes, not only they had to make the FL seen the ML as her love interest…
I've only watched the 1st episode and agree with you. By the end of the episode the character really comes off as obsessed and a stalker. Doesn’t help that imo the flashbacks didn't show a good explanation to warrant such an attachment to him. All they did was have her say she found him interesting after 2 min of knowing him...but why? And when you consider the fact she had a sister in the 18th life that she hasn’t shown any interest in finding, paired w/ her going to find her 17th life niece only when she needed money to find SeoHa...well, doesn’t paint her in all that good a light. I don’t have an issue with her straight-forward, slightly abrassive attitude (it's consistent with the fact she's just done w/ being reincarnated), it’s her one-track mind that bothers. The sole obsession with this one kid she knew for a couple of months.
Imo it would've been a better romance if they gave their bond in 18th life better substance, make them friends, she promises to always look out for him. When she "awakens" she makes sure he's alive, and then when she's old enough she tries to reconnect with him and they fall in love. None of the stalker-like story.

Kim Woo Jin [Hae Sang's partner]"
Partner? In what? Is it the guy that he spoke with on the bench in ep 1?
I'm looking forward to all the twists that are surely coming.
