yes, the second child must die to create the juvenile ghost and then they pass it off to the first child. That's what his family was doing in order to continue using it to gain fortune. HaeSang's younger sibling was killed and he was supposed to be given the hair accessory to get possessed after his father died but his mom stopped it all.

Maybe it's an illness caused by the possession of the evil spirit.

The trailer is totally playing with us lol. Could be that it'll be hinted at in subtext but I ain't believing until I see the episode haha.

In actuality, I think that quote "You're right. I want you" is in reference to the last line in the final scene of episode 7 where the evil spirit tells SanYoung "You'll want me too. Just like your father."
But man, why would they edit the teaser like that? Every other scene + voice-over makes sense in the context used.

The scene of SanYoung living through what the evil spirit experienced as a child was intense and she made it so believable that I was feeling that desperation same as her. Her screams of horror were felt deeply.

One thing I noted and loved immediately from that scene in the rain between her and HaeSang is the way he stays silent. In any other drama I am sure they'd have had HaeSang defend himself since he had no idea and is a victim as well but here KEH chose to make him silent and just let SanYoung let it all out, to lash out against he and his family. His silence shows true empathy and respect for her (and in a way the juvenile ghost) pain. If I liked him before, that scene made me love him more as a character.

The final scene of SY telling the ghost that she won't use it like his family (and her dad did...what a twist) and the ghost threatening her and saying "you'll want me too". I can't wait to see more of evil SanYoung lol. I want her to go after that evil grandmother. Get her revenge for the young girl...and Hideko lol (the actress played an evil character in the Handmaiden in which Taeri starred in...for those that may not know).

Also, we're getting a sweet SanYoung and SeMi scene tomorrow. My heart is content, I'll take any crumbs of this "soulmate" friendship.

Episode 7 has been the best episode to date. Amazing all around.
We leaped head on through lots of big reveals and Taeri's performance was so freaking good. I got chills.

It's SanYoung that doesn't want her working. SY even started yelling when her mom insisted she could go back to work.

Plus, there's a difference between working physically exhausting jobs where you need to meet others standards and something where you control the amount of work you can handle at a time.

Clearly she worked just fine for many years since she raised SY on her own until her health took a turn. From the first ep convo they made it seem like she was just a clutz at work (perhaps a result of her health in her older age) but that's hardly reason to see her as a bad mother imo.

HaeSang has mentioned seeing the demon when he saw his mom kill herself. There were no mirrors so the only way to see it is if he wasn't the one possessed. If he was possessed it would have happened after his mom died because we see him wake up at a hospital seemingly after having passed out.

Perhaps neither he nor his mom were possessed but someone else. His dad? Grandmother? Maybe his mom was just trying to get rid of the demon & that's why it killed her.

She never contacted him again because the night she lost her baby her mother mentioned seeing Gangmo (unaware that it was the demon pretending to be him) so she thinks he had something to do with the loss of the child. Makes sense she wouldn’t want anything to do with him after. And I suspect he understood.
In ep 1 she talks about going back to work but it’s SanYoung that insists she doesn’t. How she was able to accept the inheritance on behalf of SY is a plot hole imo (unless SY just automatically gets it whether she wants it or not) but she did with good intentions. Immediately started to work on a business for the two of them.

I had the exact same thought. It's a really good song, my favorite so far.

I didn't call it lame because of the romance subplot. I found the entire drama underwhelming.
The romance plot was just the part I disliked the most.

I'm glad Semi wasn't killed as a plot device but I am disappointed that she really is just a minor character. I was excited when Hye Ji's casting was announced because she was my favorite in Nevertheless & thought she'd have a bit more important role (she deserved more 😔). I want more friendship scenes between SY & Semi :(
Kim Eun Hee never really has been interested in exploring female dynamics in depth, has she? Not the same way she does male characters with other male characters or female characters with male characters. It's a shame.

I enjoyed the quiet scenes of SanYoung cleaning her grandma's house. I was needing that break from so much plot to just spend time with SanYoung as a character.

And tbh I found HongSae boring before but after this episode, I find him a bit unlikable.

I found some parts entertaining but also a lot that was too cheesy. They were trying to create some narrative about the toxicity of the super wealthy but it was so on the nose & silly imo.
yeah, the main guy disturbed me so much I couldn't stand seeing him on screen. Plus she spends more than half the show firmly turning him down and then suddenly she's in love...why?

Something has to come of Semi getting possessed. Either she'll die, creating distance between them, or this will force San Young to open up to Semi about what's been happening to her and maybe allowing Semi to play a bit of a bigger role in the drama (my hope is this scenario).

The director posted this drawing on her Instagram today, maybe there's hope for SY & Semi friendship.

My understanding is that San Young gets possessed by the evil spirit when she's struggling emotionally or when she's angered by someone so the spirit takes over to supposedly fulfill San Young's dark desires.
At HaeSang's she read Semi's text telling her she passed the exam which triggered her because she had been studying hard for it but had to skip it in order to investigate more on the ghost.

What's with the whole energy of some that's been killed thing? At first, I thought the answer would be that they need someone who has died and come back to life to suppress the evil spirit lol. Like in Netflix's Fear Street movies where the girl wouldn't get possessed by the dead witch if she died so they got her heart to stop and then brought her back to life.

but they just need to get the spirit in a spot where someone has died due to possession? How would that work if the evil spirit is possessing San Young? An Exorcism?

And if they save each other by the end of the series? Just soulmate things ♥

No but seriously I am so worried for poor Semi. We've barely seen her and now she's on the verge of being killed as a plot device to hurt San Young.

Also, evil!SanYoung tonight was like "Nobody bullies Semi but me" lol

I'd go as far as say that's the mentality of lots of kdrama watchers, not just on MDL.
