Kim Tae Ri and Hong Kyung are amazing. Both of them had insanely difficult crying scenes in eps 9 and 10 and they…
Yes, they were great. Especially Taeri for me. But I also want to give props to Oh JungSe because his character was suffereing too but in silence. To portray a deep silent suffering is a hard thing to do as well imo.
You probably don’t understand the story well.. there has not been any filler episode so far.. even tho the story…
Episode 3 was a lot of filler imo. And even episode 1+2 were focused on the highschool ghost that didn't move the main plot. It was used to get SY and HaeSang working together but I think the same could've been accomplished in a different way.
Its totally understandable, non of these romance dramas have this strong chemistry like Tae Ri and Hong Kyung.
Imo the hostility from somr towards people hoping for romance is because 1. this comments section has been filled with "is there any romance?" questions since before it aired and people are tired of it 2. Because most times it's brought up it isn't even in a contextual manner because HG/SY scenes, other than the flashbacks are not romanticly coded. There is no substance between SY and HongSae.
But I agree that nobody should be rude to anyone else.
Lucky you, you've got lots of treats in store if you want to check out KTR's previous works. Twenty-Five Twenty-One…
You can always skip his scenes lol. Her character has enough going on separately and with her female co-star that you don’t have to watch his scenes if you don’t want to.

Maybe the anti-HongSae/SY reactions (from myself included) is because so many are wishing for an ending that makes no sense. Yes, the actors have very good chemistry but thinking of the characters, I have to ask, what exactly binds these two? For SY HongSae isn’t even a last thought because he just plainly isn't a thought at all for her. For HongS all he's ever "known" about her is that she was poor but not embarrassed about her situation and he admired that, maybe had a small crush but that's it. They've never known each other and even now still don't. People can ship whatever they want, it can be a crack ship, etc. I enjoy non-canon ships all the time. Its all the "I hope they end up together" or whatnot when nothing in the show supports any of that imo.
The same thing happened in Little Women with people thinking InJoo would magically end up with Do-Il when she didn’t show any romantic interest in him.
To my mind, the three best K dramas airing at the moment have no or little romance -- Revenant, Shadow Detective…
That's very true. For example, when I watched the King's Affection I was really into it, it started off so well and then it got lost in the romance plot and got so slow.
I feel like even 12 episodes were too long for a script like this, I mean some episodes feels filler there isn't…
I feel really good friendship chemistry between SanYoung and HaeSang but in the end each character is acting individually for their own personal reasons. There isn't a deep emotional connection between any of the main three, and for me that was a reason I struggled to connect with the show (I don't mean romantic connection). All the characters SY truly cares about (her mom and Semi) are minor characters in the story and I think it kind of drags it down a bit imo. They only bring them in when they need her to suffer. It's only until these past 4 episodes that the show really picked up speed and that I've actually finally felt connected to SY because we're finally seeing just how much all this is affecting her. Maybe it would've been beneficial to see a bit more of SanYoung's everyday struggles as well, instead of just hearing about it.
I think the show would've been stronger with 10 episodes at most. But it's still very good.
this week's episodes were so good. SanYoung's progression in losing herself is so sad to watch. And the scenes with her possessed were great. The scene about water in episode 10 was crazy. That was the first time the show felt like a horror show, it was creepy af. Taeri was amazing.
I was just thinking that most of the secondborn children killed had actually been born. Meanwhile, the evil spirit killed SanYoung's sibling before it was even born.
Also, why would they need to continue killing secondborn children in order to pass on the same evil spirit? I thought killing a secondborn was only done to create the juvenile ghost but they have to do it everytime it's goong to be passed on?
Sanyang as a character is definitely very boring. Actually all three main leads are. The show is mostly reliant…
I think this isn't a Revenant "issue" but a KEH (writer) thing. Her stories are more plot driven than chatacter. So sometimes her characters can feel boring imo. It wasn’t until ep 6 that I felt more connected to Sanyoung, and I'm a Taeri fan.
Behind the scenes of episode 7 & 8 -Jung Se with fake Shaman - Taeri and little Mokdan/rain scene -Sanyoung & Semi picnic scene (Hyeji and Taeri joke about SY confessing and proposing to Semi lol)

Maybe there is something there.
