This is unwarranted and the netizens do not have evidence of it at all. The show was well executed - no fillers, each episode is concise, minor characters have their own development as well. The props, background, cinematography and shots are well done. Lightning is good too. The best is the acting, especially by the female lead. Her emotional scenes are well done, and there's enough chemistry for you to root for the leads. I am at the halfway mark and I am hooked. It is a breath of fresh air amidst all the rom-com and fantasy dramas with no plot except the romance between the leads.

If you reach episode 6, I genuinely think you should consider dropping it. I nearly did at episode 6 and even…
That’s herself. But they got together at episode 11 officially.

Their interaction then wasn’t too bad but the stupid thing is the male lead spent too many scenes with Dorami. They only get together in episode 11, and then ridiculously broke up. Why break up instead of just doing a long distance when you know you are going to get attacked again?

I think it's because I gave a high rating to the acting and ost. I still enjoyed this but I went into this with…
I think the emotional range of the actors are very limited, maybe in part due to the character script. I felt like the male lead only displayed anger and happiness. The female lead only has three emotions - happy, sad and embarrassed. They were not together much, so the relationship was not sweet, that I can understand. I know the male lead's acting is more restrained, but I felt this was not his best work.

Good that you liked it. See if you like the ending at episode 12. I didn't. It's really an idol drama that's cast driven than plot driven.

Thank you! I’m just finishing 6 and wondered if I should continue. Misunderstandings can waste so much time.…

There is a plot twist, but I feel it is not done well because both male leads fades in the background and it does not add flesh to the story, partly because the drama is actor driven rather than plot driven by that point.

By then the only motivation keeping the audience hooked is purely the wanting to know how the drama will end. This stretches all the way to episode 11-12.

she has mental illness.
The writers have used this same trope over and over again. It’s fine if the drama is about that in the first place, but the title of the drama and how the trailers advertised the drama is like is way misleading. mid drama and the plot suddenly does a fender bender to explore her trauma. That’s quite a pathetic setup.

They’re still writing female leads like the one from Playful Kiss🤦🏽‍♀️
Females are quirky, loud and intrusive while males are always jerks I. their speech but kind in their actions. The females are always the lovesick ones.

Is it good or not?I am seeing a lot of mixed opinions. How is their chemistry and dynamics and is the drama entertaining?
Starts off well, then drags in the middle and meanders off to a different plot. The chemistry between the leads are average. Acting is decent but nothing to rave about. It’s the later half that pulls the drama down. Almost all ML and FLs have childhood trauma. This trope is so overused. Rinse and repeat. The screen time of support cast is very nonexistent, so there’s nothing much to watch except slow-mo fillers mid drama. if you can push through to the end maybe it will be better but definitely does not live up to the hype, neither is the drama like what the trailers purport it to be.

it's not official subs, it's automatically translated, but it's one of the better generated subs, I saw way worse,…
No official English streaming platform yet and no fan subs either. Usually there will be at least fan subs but I think the pirated streamers are letting AI do the job and it’s badly done. Whenever the actors say “ai” it’s translated as “child”.

For me it's between Park Ju Hyun and Kim Hye Yoon.I saw Mouse and Snowdrop around the same months and at first…
I used to have that issue but not anymore as Kim Hye Yoon got more exposure. Park Ju Hyun has a sharper and more protruding chin, taller, and rougher skin. KHY has a wider face, better and fairer complexion.

yes you can watch this on kisskh
The auto translated English subs are not very understandable. Are there any official English subs? It seems like this drama is not released internationally.

This is not IU and Park Bo Gum drama. This is Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon drama with IU and lots of guest roles.…
It is promoted heavily that IU and Park Bo Gum were the main cast. I wonder how the drama would have been if they just continued acting all the way, and their children were played by different actors. I am sad that Park Bo Gum had so little screen time because he ambodied the handsome, atheletic, but simple Gwan Sik so well.

Moon So Ri lost the spunkiness IU had, and become too softhearted, and Park Hae Joon lost the "steelheartedness" and charisma Park Bo Gum had and became a little naggy.

They acted well but somehow were a little less convincing as the middle age versions of Ae Sun and Gwan Sik.

I also feel sorry for him, but he is still immature and indecisive. In the end, he couldn't make a stand with…
He actually did say to Geum Myeon once that he will abandon his mother, but Geum Myeon insisted on breaking up and said he will not be happy doing that. Geum Myeon's second relationship was not as passionate and deep, but she is more at ease and comfortable in her own skin.

It's different for Ae Sun because she grew up with Gwansik and is orphaned. Gwansik's mother also did not dislike Ae Sun that much - it was more of Gwansik's grandmother. Geum Myeon had an extra layer of concern that Ae Sun as she knew she would not be happy if her marriage caused hurt to her mother.

It's unfortunate that the culture in Korea is till this day more about marrying into the family rather than just between the couple.

Geum Myeon chose not to marry her first love like her mother and did not have a fairy tale romance but also found happiness that way. I believe that is intentional on the scriptwriter's part,

edneversleeps, Her mother was 70. Geum Myeong mentioned to her mother about being 70 yrs old when the two were…
Yes I am aware she is 70, but then the issue would be IU does not look anything like 52? You either age IU or make Moon Sori younger.

I like the drama, but wondered if it could be better if the director casted someone else and use lesser flashbacks.

Yes! I am most fond of the period when Ae Sun was growing up and her time with Park Bo Gum.

hardships make them age differently.
I don’t disagree but the age difference is almost 20 years. I think it’s a huge stretch, but probably has to be done for the story. Ae Sun is a homemaker and didn’t work in the sun though, only the husband did. The Haenyeos who dived daily also looked closer to Ae Sun’s age although they were her mother’s age.
On When Life Gives You Tangerines Mar 29, 2025
The only thing that is glaringly inaccurate is the age continuity issue. The writers seem to forget that the ML and FL got married at 18 and had their daughter at that age.

The ages when Ae Sun and Yang Gwan Sik are in middle age and later part of their lives and their appearance do not match that of their daughter. They are only 18 years older than daughter Yang Geum Myeong, but always appear more than 30 years older.

When they sent Geum Myeong to university, they looked around late 40s to early 50s, when they are only around 37 years old.

In the later scenes, they appeared to be late 60s even though they are only 55 years old (Geum Myeong was 37.

In the last scene, Geum Myeong is at most early 40s, but her mother looked least 70, although is is at early or late 40s, which means her mother should be at max 63. Geum Myeong's daughter was also shown on the photo to be a teenager, but even if IU is 45, she should only be 12.

Overall I quite like the drama, but Park Bo Gum's screen tine is too little.
