After all this discussions i decided i should just go with what is shown in drama bcs if we go with novel we will end up with inconsistencies with every character. so we will conflicted with what we see in drama and what we know of novel! As per novel readers except ZZ everyone have major issues! But in drama all have grey past but not to the level of disgusting. they did not explicitly show YL doing anything other than scaring her and kissing her forcefully .

i agree to some things like she is trying to rectify what happened so that he could not end up that way but i still couldnt fathom how she could be so indulgent and free to him with that horrible memory. 1 episode or so they showed her subtle reaction but later she was enjoying freely with no inhibition(right from the lantern festival) . anyway i accepted it and moved on as something i can live with since he is not ML and they did not show YL doing anything like that explicitly in the drama. Regarding TTEOTM i had major issues with that drama so i dropped after i think 12 episodes. And i could never feel his pain after what he started doing so in a way i did hate him.

well then this may not be for you . For me this is a beautiful drama which has slow burn with a love story that has the longing and pure love. But it could be boring and nothing much exciting happening if you are not into this kind of drama

True that. Its fine to show its a novel or something in shows like SOKP bcs it does not take away anything but for Forever and ever that was one of the main theme so i could not feel that connection they had with One and Only.

was there a concept of dating back then ? or you mean like they will become sort of engaged?

Well as a fan of one and only I hated his character and FL couldnt care less about him as well . That shows he is a good actor . Specially scenes where he had to act sick his acting was top notch . but when it comes to chemistry it cannot beat the ML and FL there so I would say fortunately she didn’t end up with him in that 😀

Hope so. since its not aired we cannot judge i suppose . i am expecting they will show a good emotional bonding in addition to their skinship only then i can feel for them and let go of that forced kisses and more importantly the ending ! i havent watched recent episodes but by the comments i see they have already started connecting.

yep thats there but i dont know why i could not get that closure with forever and ever. may be bcs they could not show that Shiyi remembered clearly and ZSH had no inkling of their tragic past and also only main characters were part of it. I expected atleast the ZSH military family will be there!

Gosh! already i could not get my thoughts sorted out on how she is comfortable with being close to YL when she remembers clearly what he did to her and now this! i think i will just go by drama and forget about novel bcs that would not be so dark and even YL they just "showed" YL force kissing and keep it at that .

One and Only. its a beautiful drama ! But a sad ending so be warned :) Only c drama with a sad ending i didnt mind watching though

i am replying to you now since you seem to be miffed about my question and providing lecture about understanding a character and not to ask question or provide my thoughts . I got insightful answers and i also appreciated it long back. About basic 101 everyone puts themselves in shoes consciously or unconsciously to understand a character so i dont know what basic 101 you are talking about . Also its obvious after understanding their situation i still could not understand a characters motives so i was asking for others to provide their prospectives. Anyways peace . and cheers.

Sorry I am not sure how I offended you by posting this question ! But why shouldn’t I ask question . Forum is about that . That’s exactly what I did by posting my question and thoughts. To analyse get other people’s perspectives and have a good discussion on the characters . That’s part of the fun I believe . So i am not sure why this lecture on how to analyse a character . Everyone has their subjective interpretation of characters . And also novel readers giving more insights so discussing this helps( including your thoughts apart from remarks on how its easy and nothing to question :)). . Anyway cheers!

I am sort of neutral at this point but when she said she wants to save ZZ she said all others did bad things to her in return . YL took revenge by assaulting her and XW obviously came to kill her (atleast that’s what she thought ) . I am not saying she didn’t love but this is why she said she feels guilty towards ZZ bcs he didn’t seek revenge back at her like others

thanks . that makes sense. i see now why she is not avoiding int terms of not repeating mistakes but w.r.t to his past atrocities she need not avoid but i was expecting some level of un-comfortable "ness" or something but i dont see it. she is being a perfect "buddy" to him which made me question but yeah i guess from all of your answers i get more insights about her behavior
