i am replying to you now since you seem to be miffed about my question and providing lecture about understanding a character and not to ask question or provide my thoughts . I got insightful answers and i also appreciated it long back. About basic 101 everyone puts themselves in shoes consciously or unconsciously to understand a character so i dont know what basic 101 you are talking about . Also its obvious after understanding their situation i still could not understand a characters motives so i was asking for others to provide their prospectives. Anyways peace . and cheers.

Sorry I am not sure how I offended you by posting this question ! But why shouldn’t I ask question . Forum is about that . That’s exactly what I did by posting my question and thoughts. To analyse get other people’s perspectives and have a good discussion on the characters . That’s part of the fun I believe . So i am not sure why this lecture on how to analyse a character . Everyone has their subjective interpretation of characters . And also novel readers giving more insights so discussing this helps( including your thoughts apart from remarks on how its easy and nothing to question :)). . Anyway cheers!

I am sort of neutral at this point but when she said she wants to save ZZ she said all others did bad things to her in return . YL took revenge by assaulting her and XW obviously came to kill her (atleast that’s what she thought ) . I am not saying she didn’t love but this is why she said she feels guilty towards ZZ bcs he didn’t seek revenge back at her like others

thanks . that makes sense. i see now why she is not avoiding int terms of not repeating mistakes but w.r.t to his past atrocities she need not avoid but i was expecting some level of un-comfortable "ness" or something but i dont see it. she is being a perfect "buddy" to him which made me question but yeah i guess from all of your answers i get more insights about her behavior

well good for you. i clearly shared my thoughts on why i find it difficult to understand since i personally would not be comfortable with a person who assualted me and i have clear memories of it even if i had guilt or whatever. And someone who raped her multiple times he is definitely not good as much as her. And she herself says that when she dies. that whoever she did wrong they in turn did wrong to her except ZZ. So i dont see why there is so much guilt that it can overcome such horrible personal experience . But thanks to novel readers i got some perception. so ya it is difficult for me to understand if not for you :) cheers. enjoy the show

i didnt see any uncomfortableness when he touched her so many times, took her to the lantern festival. In fact she was enjoying and also looking at him. So ya overall it was not convincing to me but ya with above discussion i can accept that she is fine i suppose

I agree that some traits of persons are result of their situation. But i also think that certain traits are inherent and its just about presenting certain situation for that trait to come out. So YL is capable of doing such a thing for a person he claimed he loved is what matters . Even ML is brought out as cold bcs of his situation. But he doesnt roam aroudn claiming he loves someone and then do such a thing. again its not like i am ok with ML . Bad is bad even with whatever they faced in life. Also I am not asking for FL to condemn him and take action or anything. FL being so comfortable with him is what made me question. Also in first life it seems like she did a lot . She schemed and involved with all men to get into palace.

thanks. that explains although like you dont agree or still dont understand fully . i am not necessarily comparing her closeness with XW since she hardly knows XW so i get the reaction. its just how her reaction to a person she saw do atrocities and then kill her (?) vs a person who did atrocities to her personally i was surprised at .

Not showing is not same as not implying that happened. The way that scene where he whispers in her ears sort of showed his intention but ya if i had not read comments below and solely based on drama i wouldnt guessed the. extent!! I guess upcoming episodes will give us more details. But if they give more details it becomes more and more unbelievable to me that she is even talking to him let alone touch her .
