Since I watched "Butterflied Lover" first, I have deduced that Rain Lu's xianxia drama's last episode, or bonus episode, allowed for the HE of both the second couple and the main leads, while the second last episode's allowed for the HE of only the main leads. This drama has bonus episode 30.5

I agreed that the drama was underrated gem .To understand better take the theme as; abandonment of responsibility.
FL; never told her family that she poisoned ML and moved to the border with them. Seen in everybody eyes as running away when fiance became an idiot. He family with its bad reputation became easy target for ML's uncle to punish them .to frame them as traitors.
ML: seen in FL master eyes as shirking his responsibility when he divorced her when she was pregnant.(he didn't know of pregnancy) She then took away her student and baby after delivery.

That movie is the iconic forefather for sci-fi writers of basic formula to kill aliens: isolate and eliminate when they enter human host body ie. host is as considered alien and get killed together with the alien. The opening scene of snow was the hint that drama was going to use that formula. The meteor can be a shell or spaceship for the alien. It got damaged upon entering Earth. Like a crap even its fearful with its powerful pincers once its shell is damaged it cannot survived for its unable to do self repair. The shell/spacecraft will self destruct into volcanic disintegration. When the alien entered into ML body who will not swim to safety, both were destroyed. To understand more the drama had the beheading scene; the head cannot live without a body, no matter how smart, and the alien was powerful but formless it cannot survived without a form/host/ human body.

This drama is similar to the 1982 sci-fi horror cult movie "The Thing," directed by John Carpenter.of an extraterrestrial seeking control over a host world. The hero died with it and became frozen in order to eradicate everything as the setting was in the Antarctic. Hence, ML also perished in this drama to get rid of it.

In my interpretation of the final few minutes of episode 30, of LR, CYS, and SY, relationships. CYS did glance up at LR, but he completely ignored her and SY. Back in uni, LR and CYS were a couple. However, she declined LR's proposal since he needed to get married by the age of 25 as he planned to have three children by the time he was 28. Subsequently, SY started dating CYS, which clarified why LR completely ignored SY as he normally on speaking terms with him.

If the writer is keen on women power, YY has to be An empress which will then get Wu as an ally against Beipan as well as appeasing the death of their emperor in An. She can then kill off the emperor for FL. She would legitimately change the dynasty in An if she made LTG as consort.
