I get goosebumps just by imagining Song hye kyo as Yeon woo❤️
I don't think she's the best actress nor am I her biggest fan, but at least for me she's better than the one they cast here, she was good in her melodramas. And she's really beautiful and have acted as Kim Yoo Jung's older version before in movie Hwang Ji Ni (a historical movie, meaning she had sageuk experience before this drama happened).
She has more chemistry with Saya but logically, she should end with Eunseom since I believe he's her true love.…
Yup. I mentioned that she is more likely to end with Saya because when I watched historical dramas in the past like Jumong, when the main characters got separated, one of them usually ends up marrying someone else.
Who you-all want Tanya to end up with? Just asking cause I'm bored waiting for season 2
She has more chemistry with Saya but logically, she should end with Eunseom since I believe he's her true love. But I think her ending up with Saya is more likely to happen.
Currently watching, graphics and costume are not the best. But I find the drama still very fun to watch. Watched for Moon Chae Won, but the rest of the cast is also really good.
Great movie. Very unique and special. I just wish we know more about Gonggil and Jangsaeng's background to understand why Gonggil seems very special to Jangsaeng.
My interpretation of Yunbok and her love interests: 1. Shin Young Bok - loves her as a man loves a woman perhaps since his childhood. Yun Bok's feelings for him though is only of a younger brother/sister for an older brother but she truly cares for him. 2. Jeong Hyang - genuinely falls in love with Yunbok as "he's" different from other men in that he values her for her art and not just her body. Of course Yunbok finds Jeonghyang physically attractive as well. She relates to Jeonghyang in that both of them are artists (Jeonghyang musician, Yunbok painter) that are trapped which is something they have similar yet Jeonghyang is equally fascinating since she can truly express her womanhood unlike Yunbok. Their love grew deeper for one another, eventually learning to care more for each other even if it means not being together. They truly value the time they spent together. 3. Kim Hong Do - cares for her when she was young because she was his best friend's daughter. Not knowing who she truly is, Hong Do learns to value and care for her more as a person, though his care for her initially started with him seeing how uniquely talented she is as an artist. He eventually learns to love her, not caring for her gender identity, a love that remained and grew stronger once he found out who she is. She might have not seen him romatically at first, but i believe she also fell in love with him as a woman loves a man. Conclusion: She only loves Young Bok as a brother, but she romantically loves Jeong Hyang and Hong Do. She loves Jeong Hyang as a man would love a woman (yet there is still the woman in her that loves and appreciates Jeong Hyang), she loves Hong Do as a woman would love and rely on a man (yet there is the man in her that is appreciative of Hong Do as a teacher and eventually an artist her equal).
My theories on the ending: While the possibility that Yunbok went for Jeonghyang in the ending might be a good one especially for those who prefer this couple, I find it very difficult to agree with it. It makes Shin Yun Bok kinda "rude" to her teacher who she knew gave up everything to be with her. I feel that she chose to part with him because she thinks he'll always be in danger when he's with her. Thus there are two possibilities: One is while Yunbok didn't leave because of Jeonghyang, somehow she and Jeonghyang were able to meet each other again (I can't think for myself if they would be together somehow or Yunbok somehow finds a good man for Jeonghyang). At the same time, Hong Do continually searches for Yun Bok, later gives up and the eventually marries Jung Sook (the servant girl in his household). The second possibility is that Hong Do doesn't give up looking for Yun Bok, finds her after so many years and then they got married (Yun Bok changes her name and identity) when Yun Bok realizes there is lesser danger than before.
why does this drama have such low reviews? its really good
It's an old drama, not a lot of people watch older historical drama (especially historical dramas that aired before Moon Embracing the Sun 2012). Not to mention some people might find this show boring since there are no "oppa" main characters plus there's not a lot of action scenes that makes newer historical dramas more popular.
Those people are full of sh*t. He was always popular in fact his marriage dropped his popularity. But now he's…
Im from Philippines. His ex is Song Hye Kyo. I said shes popular in my country because many of the first kdramas that got popular in the early 2000s starred her. So naturally her loyal fans from my country hated him after divorce
You should check out Arthdal Chronicles (at least until Episode 10). Then you will see how talented. He's also…
Not really, I havent watched everything he did. I had been a long time kdrama fan though so I’ve seen him first in Sungkyunkwan Scandal back in 2010 or 2011. I watched both Arthdal Chronicles and Tree with Deep Roots due to the writers. His acting is great in all shows.
You know what? I think Moon Chae Won is the only leading lady in a high rated mydramalist series that doesn't have any nominations for that particular drama. (Still bummed about it).

Nothing. His ex wife was extremely popular in my country though, they really accused him and his 2019 drama when they got divorce. Especially annoying since his 2019 drama is my favorite work of his (along with his 2011 drama, both of which are written by my favorite kdrama writer Kim Young Hyun).

I was so annoyed by those comments when they got divorced. Especially since I was watching Arthdal Chronicles at the time and he was so good in it. I understand the ex wife is a hallyu star since the 2000s, but they should not have underestimated SJK just because his works pre DOTS were not hallyu. There are many talented actors in Korea. Ex wife's advantage above them is because she started early and got popular early. It's really hard to beat the fame of the original hallyu star (those popular since 2000s), but SJK was a star in his own right. I just hope people don't hate him just because of his personal life and his choices. He's human too. (And I personally don't like any shipping of him and any female costar both pre and post DOTS costars since I don't think he'll marry a celebrity after everything that happened to him).
I cannot believe Yeo Jin - goo did not get nominated for best actor! His part required such a transformation it…
Fun fact, if he was nominated, he would be competing against actors who he played the child versions for: Kim Soo Hyun (Moon Embracing the Sun), and Lee Joon Gi (Iljimae).
I have to say congratulations to the main leads of this cast. 4 of them nominated at 57th Baeksang Awards: 1. Lee Joon Gi - Best Actor TV - Do Hyun Soo Flower of Evil 2. Park Ha Sun - Best Supporting Actress TV - Cho Eun Jeong Birthcare Center 3. Kim So Yeon - Best Actress TV - Cheon Seo Jin Penthouse 4. Ryu Soo Young - Best New Actor Movie - Baek Doo Ho Steel Rain 2: Summit
