Sageuk Lover

Of all the deaths here, Ha Jin's death is the one I find most depressing. It's because I feel the love of her and Yon is really innocent and sweet, then the pain of her dying while pregnant (meaning the baby dies too). I really feel for Yon when he lost his wife and his only child/descendant.

Here to remind that the main characters in this drama are the historical King Jeongjo and his beloved concubine Seong. This is what sets this drama apart from the recent romance sageuks (around 2016-after). Historically, it did took a long time for the King to pursue this beloved woman of his, so that is what this drama is kinda following. Of course, they added some liberties and fictional elements in the plot.

currently watching now, i feel this drama will have typical plot but the actors they got are really amazing actors, just really curious how they act with each other.

I wish Moon Chae Won to make more dramas like this. Had a drama of this calibre aired in recent years, sure it will be more popular and more easily accessible.

i do agree that he should receive the appropriate judgement from korean police if he indeed disobey their law related to drugs. however, i don't think he should be cancelled as he never harmed anyone but himself by taking the drug.

The SBS ratings pertain to percentage of Korean watchers who watch the drama as it airs while mydramalist ratings are of any person who has a mydramalist account rating the drama however the way they want.

Done with Payback, hoping she has another drama or movie soon (preferable sageuk).

Just finished, I like this drama though I ended up not really super invested with the story. Lee Sun Kyun, Moon Chae Won and the rest of the cast did well though I think this is not a show I'll go to watch to if I want to see either of them acting (not because this show is bad, just that they have better shows). Glad that they have collaborated together since i know Lee Sun Kyun is one of Moon Chae Won's dream costars. 8.5 is my score for this show.

my first drama of her was painter of the wind and she was already great in it given it's one of her first roles (the way she looks at her costar and cried in the show was really amazing).

Gosh, the branding scene. Song Il Gook is a really great actor.

Haven't seen her in anything but I'm especially happy for her. I remember the news of her then boyfriend's unexpected death back then.

Wow, Seo Hyun Woo with Song Joong Ki? I suddenly got more excited. I love Hyun Woo in Flower of Evil. I can't see him as uncle, he's only 2 years older than SJK (it doesn't help that the main characters in Flower of Evil are supposed to be similar age to his character).

Yoon Hyun Min's character their was the one with the strongest character arc. Show is weird but I thought Chae Won and Seo Ji Hoon's characters are cute and I did like their chemistry even though he was way younger.

It’s not impossible but for me I don’t see any attraction between them. There’s not much on Eun Yong either but I think he’s the more plausible love interest as they do grow their bond more after the mother’s death. I won’t be surprised if there’s no couples in the end though we might get a hint of who she’ll start seeing.
