So proud of this movie going to Cannes. And I think this is the only Korean movie that will compete for awards in Cannes in 2023 since the other Korean movie (Song Kang Ho's movie) to be shown at Cannes will just be screened "out of competition". Not being negative out of the other movie, but I'm just trying to mention how special this film might be. If this is really good, it might win the prestigious "un certain regard" award for films. This award is given usually to unusual and unique films.
I really wish she gets a female centric drama this year, I'm really sad how underrated she is, even in Flower of Evil page not enough people commenting her name as the male lead.
I thought this drama is really enjoyable and nice. Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun amazing as always. Many people say female lead is weak, but I find her strong in her own way. I understand though that second female has suffered a lot just for being born in the wrong family. Her fate is sad but I at least like that both women in this drama are strong in their own ways.
Seeing as this is a romance drama, I hope Chae Won's role is as equal as the male lead (unlike Payback). Hope she has good character too, so people won't bash her
it's an old formula. One of the older kdramas known for this is Sungkyunkwan Scandal (drama that gave breakout roles of Song Joong Ki, Park Min Young, Yoo Ah In, Park Yoochun).
True most of them focus on the comedic aspect of the drama and not the plot....most recent ones I mean. Also,…
I did give this drama a try because this director of this one once did good historicals too. The Princess's Man (starring Moon Chae Won) where director won baeksang for (over director of Moon Embracing the Sun, which was the sageuk that aired near the time this drama aired) and Gunman in Joseon (starring Lee Joon Gi). While I feel this will be different from the dramas I mentioned, I do still hope there will be at least a decent drama plus one of the male leads Kang Hoon was also great in sageuk.
There's a 2007 drama called Yisan also about the same historical characters. If the 77 episodes is too much, you can try The Princess Man (24 episodes).
Can someone pls tell me when Hyun Soo and Ji Won will work together?
Episode 14. In episode 15 they were also technically working for the common cause of finding the accomplice but Jiwon is doing it as a detective while Hyunsoo made a deal so that the accomplice will face him himself.
