There is a ton of plot left, and even if they somehow cover it, I think the train has still passed. There are a lot of threads that should have been getting connected early on; now, it won't look good no matter what they do.

It's better explained in the novel. He thought Sun was trying to catch his attention to get his help with becoming an actor, so he wanted to pettily ruin his face before the auditions the next day.

I agree that Little Jane is probably supposed to be all these things, but honestly, I feel like it's all very underdeveloped :( I never get the impression that he's actually smart or kind. There are moments like where he's trying to protect someone, but they are so minor and shallow that it never makes an impact, at least on me. He just seems spooked all the time. I think an interesting character like Big Jane deserves a way more interesting partner. I did like his drawings and the gift he made for Big Jane.

I admit I got spoiled by series like To My Shore, KinnPorsche, Revenged Love, and Desire: their 'bottom' characters were bright and memorable, so I keep hoping for similarly strong dynamics.

The premise, the OST, and the filming are so good, especially the tense moments, but the storyline and especially the relationship... Little Jane is absolutely underdeveloped. It's the same problem as it was with Double Helix for me: I have no idea why these two like each other at all because it's neither shown nor explained.

Little Jane is so plain, he barely has any qualities except for being a suspicious bore who thinks that not telling him every part of your biography = being a liar. If they wanted to show that he's very special because he rejects the contract, I don't think they did it well, that scene was very unremarkable. Their relationship is like two days old; if you already mistrust your partner so much, why do you date him??? They are not in love at this stage; this is supposed to be the best, the most fun period of a relationship, and yet they just constantly feel bad around each other.

It's also weird how people keep hating on Big Jane yet no one says anything specific that would be actually bad. Is he deceiving them? Is he killing them? If not, what is their problem?

Honestly, I feel like all episodes after E1 are wasted except for a couple of scenes here and there. They have no idea what they are doing. And they absolutely didn't need to make such a focus on a secondary character when they already have so much content to adapt in just 10 episodes.

Oh wow! I never knew the novel was that long! I've been tempted to read it, so maybe I'll give it a go. I do like the premise.

That's why To My Shore (and the novel) won't let go of me. This is one of the first times where both characters are this brilliant. Fan Xiao is dominant and obsessive, yes, but You Shulang is also endlessly smart and powerful; Fan Xiao worships him for a reason.

None of it ever happens. Fan Xiao doesn't become poor and Shulang never provides for him. Even if Fan Xiao *was* poor, why would Shulang support him financially?? It's not like he himself is rich, and it's not like Fan Xiao would be unable to find some work. As for forgiveness: the road to redemption in To My Shore is one of the best ones ever shown, but I understand people who don't want to see these two together no matter what. If you stopped at E9 and already consider what Fan Xiao did unforgivable, you really shouldn't continue because it gets much worse.

I'm a fan of ABO and I disagree. A lot of what they are showing has very little to do with it, including the sex scene. Besides, what they do show could have been shown way better. And don't get me started on how Phatsa somehow has no idea about any of it. This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in a while.

No, this was not dry humping. At all. In some parts, yes. For the bigger part of it? No.

No, they were both relieving the pain. It subsides when you finally start being intimate with your partner, so while they could be still feeling some, they were supposed to portray uncontrollable raw desire. Not... whatever this mess was. Besides, none of it explains how and why they are having sex through the trousers...

Yes, absolutely. I think Double Helix is ridiculously bad, but I'm still happy to finally have options in this genre.

It's beyond easy to make an ABO rough, frenzied, animalistic sex scene look hot instead of weird...

I'm pretty sure there are more series with healthy couples than vice versa. As a fan of dark romances, I'm delighted that there are finally so many options to watch; I can finally afford to be picky and reject low-quality dramas even if they have the toxic tropes I like.

Honestly, I don't think the sunscreen product was shown more than the skin care products in the main series. At least sunscreen made sense because they are on the beach; meanwhile, the boxes with skin care products were given to various businessmen and a bunch of them stood on both sides of You Shulang's bed :D It was ridiculous. In most such series, product placements are extremely awkward. I did love the special, though. I wish it were filmed under better circumstances so that we'd get proper kissing, but it felt soothing after the heartbreak of other episodes.

How are they sticking to the original? Jay's characterization alone is completely different; there are multiple scenes that were never in the novel and most key milestones are ignored for now, even though there are only 4 episodes left.
