There is also Coroner’s Diary, The Prisoner of Beauty (my fave), I totally second Fated Hearts 💕(the rest of the episodes got released, I’m still watching) and When Destiny Brings the Demon is another favorite of mine. You might also like Legend of the Female General and Shadow Love, although LotFG doesn’t have a TON of steaminess, but LOTS of scenes with the leads. Wonderland of Love has a LOT of skinship and sensuality, and the leads have a tooon of screen time :)

Yeah that whoooole sequence of events after he carved her name on the rock and got hit by lightning was just one disappointment after another. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Not impressed at all. Basically I am here for the prettiness of the show and for the ML. It’s interesting that other folks say that the ML has been insincere… but if that’s the case wouldn’t he also have been struck by lightning when carving his own name? 🤔 Anyway, just a thought.

There is also Wonderland of Love. A LOT OF FLIRTING, skinship and kisses (and at least one bath scene hehe). And literally their relationship starts as a friendly rivalry, so there is a LOT of banter. And the leads have a ton of screen time.

I think the point is that there are people here who can understand where the FL is coming from (I can’t anymore), but others who can’t understand (🙋🏼‍♀️). The fact of the matter is that both sides make valid points, and the show doesn’t spell things out. It leaves things open for interpretation, and so people ARE going to interpret things differently. While I am in the pool of people who are seriously struggling with the FL, I can also respect that a LOT of other people here do not share that same view. That is okay. Life would be boring if everyone thought the same.

Eh, sure I guess? I think they’re dumbing down the ML, and her for that matter. Maybe he could have considered the possibility that she was not wearing an illusion as a female because she could have been wearing one when she was a man. For someone who is so calculating, suspicious and intelligent, it doesn’t suit his character to not consider the possibility.

Yeah. It’s so unfortunate to waste such lovely visuals with poor storytelling. O well.

Yeah and it was so disappointing with episode 13 because when JBZ asked her directly to be honest with him, her only private thought was “I can’t tell you the truth yet.” Like WHY NOT? I know that we can make those assumptions about her reasons, but fuck - that was a great opportunity for the writers to walk us through her thought process that just got wasted. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Another missed opportunity was when she was talking to 27. They basically still solidified their plan to use him for the GMD after recognizing that JBZ had fallen for her. “Your plan worked. He has fallen for you.” and “Let’s wait until he calms down and joins forces with us.” Woooowww. just wooow. 🤦🏼‍♀️I am really, really struggling to like her character right now or to even care that she is dying. All this wasted potential in the writing is doing this show a horrible disservice in my mind.

Also, if they are truly dumbing down the ML for the sake of drama then that is very, very unfortunate. The lack development and characterization is seriously a letdown. 😔The other dumb thing is that JBZ knows that she is after the GMD (like everyone else…) He knows that she has a spiritual vein. It makes no sense for them to make him dumb for the sake of needless drama. The visuals are stunning though.

So I am still working my way through episode 13 and I am even more convinced than before that JBZ had figured out who she is - or, at the very least, he suspects it. With JBZ witnessing MY being accused of being Ming Xian, having 27, the other evidence being presented that she’s Ming Xian, and some of his subtle expressions as he is navigating it… I really think he is putting the pieces together. I am also watching the scene of them crossing the bridge, and I just have this gut feeling with his somber expression that he suspects that he will get struck by lighting trying to carve her name into the rock. He totally knows what is coming. And also with her asking the rock what will happen if she is NOT Ming Yi… his face became more soft, at least before some hurt set in. And then he went ahead and carved it anyway, after asking her, “Are you worried that I will kill you if I know the truth? If I cannot ascertain your identity, I will be in trouble.” Then he carved her name, got struck by lightning and said, “I knew it.” 💔 😭 Like ALL of the signs point to him putting the pieces together. After all of that, how could he not have figured it out given how smart he is? Also, I am so fucking sad for JBZ. What a poignant scene. “After I left the Sunken Abyss, this is my first time wanting to trust someone. I’m an idiot. Since the beginning, you’ve lied to me…Everyday you watch as you toy with my feelings. In your mind, I’m just a fool. No matter what it is that you want, I’ve made it up to you with this ritual.” OUCH. And seriously, after that scene I 💯 get why people are angry that she is continuing to lie through her teeth. I just dropped my rating because any understanding I had for the FL went right out the window after watching the ritual. But I digress. I know I am several episodes behind so you all probably have information that I don’t, but at this point JBZ is either dumb, in deep deep denial, or he has figured out who she is. I don’t get, after all of that build up to the ritual, how he still could not have figured it out.

You might like Fated Hearts if you liked TPoB!! TPoB is my favorite Asian drama of all time, and I am LOVING Fated Hearts. The show just finished airing, and I am only on episode 12. It’s great and a LOT of people who loved TPoB also loved that one. The feel of both shows are very similar.

I wish this one had a few more episodes, too. I loved how well the leads complemented each other and balanced each other out. Gah. I love this show so much, but I’m afraid to rewatch it because I don’t wanna get sick of it 😂

Just watched 8-10. I’m sooo confused trying to keep track of what Yixiao is remembering vs. how she’s changing the stories to test XJS and now there’s a masked person who is working with Weiran to kill Yixiao and we finally meet more of the royal fam of Jinxiu and they have a hand in the conspiring against them and 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫I also really hate IQIYI’s subtitles. Why can’t they make a long line of subtitles read at the bottom instead of switching them with every breath the actors take? 😩

So while I bury myself in recaps to make sure I understand what the f is going on, I’ll just admire the GORGEOUS OUTFITS Suige got to wear 😍 He is a beautiful, beautiful man. And I am also TOTALLY into how freaking SMART he is. And how he just acts independently and, well, doesn’t really apologize later 😂

We also didn’t get a lot of scenes with the main leads, which made me a little sad 😔I hope this won’t be like some other shows where the leads don’t get a lot of screen time together.

I did love the little twist of Yixiao remembering who shot her off the cliff (totally called it) and then she secretly whispered “help” to Suige in the marketplace. That was sweet. Also the petty power play that the princess tried to have with Yixiao and she was like “I wish you guys a life of happiness” lol. Didn’t even engage 😂 Also the arrow shooting scene was great 😍

Also I really love the lead’s dynamic. Suige can be overbearing and domineering, but his perspective makes sense even if he’s being an ass. She calls him out on it, also presents her valid perspective and decides to fuck it and do her own thing anyway. I like watching this kind of internal conflict with couples, with both sides being valid and then having to work it out. Like when she totally called him out on his BS to his face, basically suggested that she doubted his intentions and then left I was like YEAH BABY 👏🏻 Love it. And him pouting and reflecting on her words were awesome.

Yeah I guess I don’t really pay a lot of attention to that stuff. I googled some of the top shows that hit the heat index, and a lot of them have loooow ratings on here. When I used to watch American shows, there were a lot of shows or individual episodes that had MASSIVE ratings that I didn’t like at all. I just focus on shows that I like, and I don’t wanna compare my taste with the general public. Like apparently LOTFG had like a 23k heat index… but I didn’t like that one as much as other ones. WDBtD I think got close to 10k? 9700? Second favorite drama. I don’t think it means a whole lot, but I can see how sites / stations would put a higher emphasis on it. I imagine that other factors may go into it as well, such as the time the episodes air, etc. 🤷🏼‍♀️ And maybe a lot of people watch these shows casually, and don’t pay as much attention to the quality of the plot, etc. And some people may gravitate to different genres, plot lines, etc.
