I have had this show in my radar for a long time, but have hesitated in starting it because I’ve heard so many complaints about the FL and that she takes waaaayyy too long to trust the ML. Hmm. :/ The actor who plays the ML is one of my faves though.

I picked this one up for airplane travel last month. I was very happy for all of the uninterrupted time I got to get into it lol

Cool! You could very well like WDBtD then 😊 That one and The Prisoner of Beauty are my two favorite Asian dramas.

If you do pick it up I hope you like it! It has some tropes that people generally complain about, but I personally thought they were handled brilliantly.

Yeah tbh I skipped through the last 30% of this show. The dad stuff pissed me tf off, and then it just became toooooo angsty with no moments of relief and payoff. I loved the first part so much up until the ML frisked her away to his realm. I hated the love triangle so so much, and it dragged on the whole show. Anyway, When Destiny Brings the Demon is a much better version of LBFAD in my opinion. It had all the wonderful elements that I liked about LBFAD- an edgy dark ML with a trauma history, a go-with-the-flow relaxed FL - and then improved upon it with no love triangles, LOTS of steamy kisses / skinship, a blend of humor with the angsty parts and excellent and open communication with the leads during the whole show.

Yeah and it became impossible for me to ignore it after the FL decided to meddle and pressure the ML and his dad to reconcile. Ooooo it makes me so mad 😡 lol

Uhhhhhh I don’t see how you could skip episodes and not skip backstory? Honestly if you’re bored after 8 episodes you may as well just drop it. The show doesn’t change a whole lot until much later on, but if you just skip to that part you’ll miss it all.

Hope so. The big stuff for me is communicating like adults, no noble idiocy (I’m gonna secretly go behind your back and do stupid shit for your own good) and no breakups. I haven’t started watching a show before all the episodes have been released in almost a year, but this one has been taking my feeds by storm so I figured I would risk it lol.

This was one of my BIGGEST gripes with this show. The dad was horrible and abusive, and the idea that “I am going to torture you for your own good BUT I LOVE YOU” is total gaslighty bullshit. Hated how that resolved in the show and it killed my enjoyment of this one. Hated how the dad was basically forgiven and understood. You don’t torture people you love. Period. I don’t care if you do it “for the greater good”. Fuck the greater good and choose your kid. Ok rant over.

You might like Wonderland of Love. Granted, WDBtD topped the charts for me, but WoL has a LOT of screen time with the couple, lots of kisses and skinship. The FL was not my fave at times, but it’s still a solid show.

Omg When Destiny Brings the Demon!!!! Much more romance / heavy than LBFAD and a LOT more steamy kisses and skinship! Same “touch her and I will kill you” vibes from the ML as well! Highly recommend! About to finish my rewatch and it’s the best 👌🏻Second favorite Asian drama- just under The Prisoner of Beauty.

TPoB and WDBTD are my top two favorites as well, in that order! If you like Fated Hearts a lot then it gives me hope that I will too. I just finished episode 3 and I’m struggling a bit to ship the leads for obvious reasons. I know it’s still early, but the petty torturing each other for revenge is hard to watch.

Oh absofuckinglutely he did. I wish we had more groveling. It’s been a while since I watched it, but I remember that they kinda turned his “redemption arc” into a rom com. I don’t remember getting a good, emotional apology from him or much sadness and begging.

I often say that this is the only show that does a love triangle right 😂

That was my biggest frustration 🤦🏼‍♀️ Like I get how it got harder and harder to tell her the truth, but damn. Keeping the lie to the point of considering taking her in as a concubine? 🤦🏼‍♀️Wasn’t a fan.
