OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THE BROTHER / SISTER FEELS 💛💛💛 (episode 3). I know I KNOW that I am probably gonna hate her later on (dunno why, but apparently I’m gonna), but lemme just feel the love and warmth of them now 😍 And then grieve over what could have been a fantastic sibling relationship 💔 I’m such a sucker for healthy and loving big brother / little sister relationships 🤗 🥺Now I’m sad.
so she's not one of those hypocrite towards him !? I read she lie to him and she used him for what she wants!?…
Oh yeah you’re totally right. The irony is that she absolutely is using him and is really not much different than them right now. I want the truth to be out asap because all of their sweet moments are jaded right now because of the lies.
Right now it’s a male main character (love rival for the ML with the FL) 🙄It’s annoying. There’s jealousy and possessiveness brewing. 🤦🏼♀️
As is pretty normal with c-dramas — very quickly 😂
To be honest, there isn’t another show in the same genre that holds a candle to this one HOWEVER there is one that is currently airing that has incredible potential - Fated Hearts. 30 episodes have been released so far, and I have heard nothing but stellar reviews. Others who loved Prisoner of Beauty have been raving about Fated Hearts. I am only on episode 3 and it’s GREAT so far. So if you wanna risk picking up a show without knowing the ending that may be your best bet. I can see loving it like I loved TPoB. It’s another enemies to lovers story, but it’s darker than TPoB - the leads are legitimate enemies and torture each other in the first couple of episodes 😅Both leads are incredibly capable, they have great chemistry, and yeah. I can’t say a lot about it because I haven’t watched as much as others have. But people LOVE it. I have been anxious to get home and watch more!
Different genre (xianxia), but I also loved When Destiny Brings the Demon. Outside of some iffy CGI effects, this one is a feast for romance lovers. LOTS of sensuality, kisses, intimacy and skinship. No love triangles, awesome communication with the leads, no breakups. It’s my 2nd favorite cdrama under TPoB, but the genre may not be for everyone.
Oh my gosh I love the FL (and ML ofc). The way she “innocently” calls everyone out on their hypocrisy and their two-faced bullshit toward the ML is epic. Ready for the deceitfulness on both sides to be done. Especially because I’m sensing that the ML is really starting to catch the feels oh no 🫣And also let’s just add a flipping love rival 🤦🏼♀️Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
You will understand in the episode forward. Killer God of Susha is truly his name. He is a master mind and very…
Okay so basically the ML is smarter than me and my partner LOL because we are not getting it. We will hang tight and keep watching 😬I hope that the good stuff I keep hearing about future episodes keeps going. It’s been a LONG time since I picked up a show while it was still airing 🫣
So I watched the first 3 episodes or so and then decided to wait and start it over with my partner because I think it’s something both he and I would like aaaaand because he catches more details than I do. I am also LOVING IT a lot more the second time around than the first.
There is one thing that neither of us are quite understanding that I am hoping to get some insight into — Why does the Feng Suige care that someone wants Fu Yixiao dead? It has been said a couple times that the Battle of Pingling is “more complicated” because of the assassination attempt on Fu Yixiao, but we aren’t quite understanding the connection. They were in a battle, Feng Suige got shot by the enemy general… seems pretty straightforward? Why does he care that someone tried to kill her? And how would her attempted assassination make that battle more complicated? Keep in mind we are almost halfway through episode 3. Maybe we both missed something. Thanks 🙏
Is there a love triangle? How annoying is it? Asking for a friend 🙃And how annoying at this point is the secret-keeping? Actually it doesn’t matter, I picked it up anyway lol
Some other thoughts about the ending after my second watch —
I really liked how up until the third arc, Sima Jiao more or less carried the burden of keeping everything in order, both in the immortal realm and in the demon realm (until TY took over). But after SJ became mortal and lost his memories, I LOVED how his allies in the immortal / demon realms stepped up and secretly helped their Grandmaster behind the scenes when he didn’t have his memories or his powers. I found that role reversal was incredibly touching. SJ was mortal and incredibly vulnerable, so seeing everyone come together to support him / protect him during the last stretch gave me all the fluffy feels. 🥰
And then I also had the thought this time around that modern day TY would be able to quit her horrible job and live a life of luxury and relaxation after she married modern world Mr. CEO Sima Jiao 😂 Like what kind of shitty boss would have their employee run across town immediately after being discharged from the hospital with a concussion? I really loved the ending, and wish we could have had more of them in the modern world.
I just watched the actress in The Sword and the Brocade! I’m excited for this one! I hope it’s good, and that there are no annoying love triangles… looked like there might be one from the trailer. Does anyone know if this is based off a novel?
