Why didnt he wish for his friend to be well?
Well she had asked him to wish for the real offender to be revealed. She had not given him the liberty to ask whatever he wished for.

She had asked him to wish that wish specifically to maintain her balance's equilibrium .
She couldn't directly use her power to change the outcome of a human on her own accordingly as that would be "undoing" the rich guy's wish and the money she earned by granting her wish would become illegal; causing further tipping of the balance to the evil deeds side.

She needed the pretense of a wish to make him confess to the crimes as well as get her scale to come to an equilibrium. She basically told him to ask her to grant that specific wish

Now that I think about it everything is so thought out, I am genuinely very happy

I have a question—can someone please help me understand this? At the end, after Woo-seok makes his wish, does…
Yeah sure.
I hope it clears your doubts but here I go.

As we have seen on ep 1 and 2 , Eunho grants wishes but the way it will be granted is decided by her. She grants it in a way that doesn't breaks the equilibrium of the scale of good deeds and bad deeds. However we also see that her granting the wishes can have various indirect outcomes that can again disrupt the balance and cause an event yo take place that shouldn't have happened.

Let's go over the DUI accident. Initially as she had seen glimpses of the future, Wooseok was meant to be the famous athlete and become successful.
When she granted the rich client's wish he went to celebrate and got drunk. He drove under influence and crashed into Wooseok. This event switched the fates of Wooseok and Siyeol. She states this in the hospital.

Now 9 years later when Siyeol is famous and rich, she comes to give him the offer of granting a wish in exchange for money. Since Siyeol had no wishes and on seeing Wooseok's misery he decides to pay Eunho to fulfill Wooseok's wish.

Now according to what i process since ep 3 isn't here yet, Wooseok's wish was something that had created some sort of loophole. I think the fate can't be changed but it can be exchanged.

Eunho says she cannot change what is fated when she sees Geumho's future in her wedding.

I think that is why only one of them can have the fate of a successful life while the fate of the unsuccessful has to be lived out by the other.

Again something goes wrong which causes the scale to lose it's equilibrium and will result in her losing her powers and turn into a human

The first 2 episodes is just a prologue or more like a plot overview to the main plot. After the first 2 episodes…

I’ve been waiting for this to drop because of Kim Hyeyoon and Lomon, and after the first 2 episodes, I’m still…
The first 2 episodes is just a prologue or more like a plot overview to the main plot. After the first 2 episodes it becomes clear the main plot begins from ep 3. The first 2 episodes mainly introduced the characters and specially the limitations and conditions of Eunho's power and how her actions can directly and indirectly affect her being a Gumiho

I would suggest you wait till ep 3

I don't understand why MDL doesn't lock-out a series' rating until all episodes have been marked as watched? Network…
This is actually a very reasonable and practical idea. They should lock the reviews until the series end or have an individual episode rating

Honestly, I'm so disappointed about this series, not because it's bad or anything, but because I was really hoping…
Well I am going to wish that the ending has something out of the box up its sleeve and we can get an ending where they can live eternally together. Till now both episodes are very unique to the basic gumiho plot and I am quite enjoying it 😊

Episode 2 was definitely much better, but I don’t really get the storyline yet. What trajectory are they headed…
ep 1 was a basic prologue and tried to introduce the different characters and focused on Eunho's views regarding humans, her powers, a bit about her past and how she earns money to live a luxurious life while maintaining the balance of the scale of good deeds and bad deeds so as to not turn a human. They tried incorporating a lot of these things which is why you might have felt it a bit disjointed.

Now at ep 2 we learn a lot of things. The balance can be shifted anytime and even by indirect actions committed by Eunho. The balance that she is trying to maintain is very fragile. The primary reason she cannot just get gold from a gold mine or just fill her bank with money is because that would be an illegal way of acquiring it which will contribute her 'evil deed' side of her balance and then will have to do an exact amount of good deeds to match it which according to her is too worrisome. Instead she chose to use her powers in return for money.

The rich guy is a suitable client for her as he is a chaebol's son. She notices him in the construction sites auction and in turn for money grants him his wish. Due to his DUI accident and trying to cover it up he kills a human who wasn't fated to die yet.
Now since Eunho was indirectly related to the entire situation her scale lost its equilibrium and she lost a lot of spiritual power. This entire fiasco was significant to show how unstable her permanence of powers actually are. Any indirect action can lead to the equilibrium getting broken.

The DUI actually caused a switch up of fate with regards to Siyeol and Wooseok's fate. So indirectly Eunho had caused a switch in their fate which was different from the future she had seen when she saw them both at the mall.
As we know she goes after extremely rich people when choosing her clients, after making the rich guy confess to his crimes which gets him to go to jail and balancing her scale, she keeps her sight on siyeol as her future client.

The 9 year jump is to set the stage for the main plot to start. Siyeol is now a star and Eunho on noticing his popularity decides it is now suitable to be a client.

Since Siyeol has no wish to be granted whatsoever he decides that his friend could get a use of this wish which he would pay for.

This wish will cause some great chaos which will result in her breaking the equilibrium she has been maintaining and then getting turned to a human against her wish.

All in all the first 2 episodes are to set up the main plot and I feel it is only going to get better

I am confused. The gumiho feels more like a genie.
It is kinda similar to that. She has cultivated her spiritual powers to a very vast extent that she can manipulate a lot of things. She grants wishes in exchange for money. And since her balance should be in equilibrium she has to 'earn' money to be able to spend it. Any other way of acquiring money, and her scale tips towards the evil deed sides and she loses all her powers

The ‘evil’ gumiho role doesn’t really fit the main actress for me. She lacks that aura, and maybe because…
The gumiho is not meant to be 'evil' just self centered and enjoying the luxuries of human world without turning into a human.
So that was not what was being tried to be portrayed here and since she didn't give you that vibe at all I would say KHY succeeded in her portrayal of Eunho. 🤩

I am not sure what you meant... ? Hm perhaps you need to learn about gumiho first? Google what a gumiho is. The…
The power system is based on the actions committed directly or indirectly by Eunho. The losing and gaining of her powers was pivotal to show how fragile her powers are when it's not performed with great thought. The rich guy's DUI accident was the main switch up in the fates of Siyeol and Wooseok which was indirectly caused by eunho.

Now the time skip was meant to happen to progress the plot and set it up for the main events. Ep1 and half of Ep 2 was meant to show the connection Eunho had with him in the past and how she had impacted his fate before. She had initially met them by accident in the mall and seeing Wooseok's fate made him a suitable client in the future which eventually got switched up with Siyeol.

Now the swapping is not what they wished had for in the end of ep 2. The method of the wish coming true resides solely to Eunho. I think there was some loophole in the wish which caused the situation. Also there could be some kind of limitation to her power that caused such a weird turn of events. Which will cause her to be punished with messing with fates in a direct way this time and be turned to a human

The new character is the main villain according to how I see it being played out, who maybe wants her to grant his wishes with or without her desire.

The main plot all in all is that she will turn into a human and the things shown in the first 2 episodes directly and indirectly contribute to that fact. Just like the butterfly effect and she somehow wants to turn back to a Gumiho

he is 18 in ep 1 and then there will be a 10 year jump in ep 2

Why is it 7.9? I haven't started this yet
Don't go for the early ratings of a drama which has only 1 ep available. Personally found the first episode very good, sure do try.

Boring? Are you kidding me?
This was absolutely so intriguing. Felt one hour vanished in an instant. Her acting of the character is so perfect that I am already bonded with Eunho.
