oh no, what DID happen in webtoon? Did they really break up 4ever?
They never dated in the webtoon. Suho and Jugyeong only confessed their feelings for each other at the airport when he was leaving, and when he came back she was dating Seojun. She and Seojun have since broken up and Suho still loves her, but it's unclear if she'll end up with either guy.
What is it a red flag for, though? Seojun simply doesn't know all that much about Jugyeong's life, outside of the fact that she likes Suho. Suho has seen her crying over her grades, her mom, her looks, etc. The fact that Seojun doesn't know much else isn't really a sign of Suho/Jugyeong's relationship, unless you mean it's a red flag that Seojun doesn't really know her as well yet.
The preview confused me so much tbh since SH on the plane & JG at airport were shown wearing the same clothes…
The drama has used the "let's break up" card in its previews twice now, and it wasn't true either time. While I do expect that Suho will have to leave (for the span of one scene lmao), I do not think it will be a "break up" in the angry sense. Just in the generic "i must be away, and in kdramas the internet doesn't exist" sense.
Though its cliche that Suho (might) be going back to Japan to only return back later right in the next episode…
If it helps, I'm positive there won't be any rebounding. I think Seojun and Jugyeong will stay friends, but he will be more focused on his idol career. I have no doubt he will debut with a song that Seyeon and Suho wrote in order for his story to come full circle.
just like the webtoon!??? omg if it is then that mean... oh no, that means..... sj and jg??? nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…
Don't worry, it won't be like the webtoon. There are only 2 episodes left after Suho leaves, so they have no time to make Jugyeong like Seojun back. In fact, the relationship chart already spoiled that his feelings stay unrequited. Suho will come back in 15 and then he and Jugyeong will have to make their way back to each other by the finale.
Jugyeong is also a gem just because she doesnt like him doesnt mean she isnt a good person the heart wants what…
Exactly. It's not about deserving in Jugyeong's case. She loves Suho and they make each other happy, so that's what they "deserve." Similarly, Seojun needs to find someone who wants him the way he wants them. Everyone's experienced unrequited love at least once, it's okay.
JK better end up with LSH or I am gonna riot! I shipped them since webtoon and their chemistry is so adorable.…
I'm positive Suho will only go as part of the normal "kdrama lead must leave to trigger a time jump" plot line, and then be back the very next episode to resume the story.
Below is how I think the preview will end up shaking out:
- Since everything is settled with Jugyeong at school now, Suho is contemplating visiting his father or maybe going to college there (his dad could be calling him or sending him applications throughout) to be part of a family again. - Jugyeong would hate that and Seojun doesn't want him to go either, so he "threatens" Suho that he'll confess to Jugyeong the second he leaves. - Suho decides to stay, and they have that beach date and are all cute and happy until he gets a phone call about his dad being in an accident. - Suho has to go and this time doesn't know when he'll be back, they see him off at the airport, everyone cries. - Time jump in the final scene, where the show tries to fake you out that Seojun and Jugyeong will be together now or already are. But then Suho comes back at the start of 15 and that's not the case.
SH & JG were shown wearing the same outfit at the breakup scene and the beach date scene, so which scene is following…

Suho was a gold star boyfriend this episode, Jugyeong's mom finally became supportive, and Jugyeong herself finally faced her fears! WE LOVE GROWTH. The promo has me upSET, but it's okay because I know Suho will come right back after that two-year time jump.
The drama takes place in the high school portion of the webtoon, where Jugyeong had feelings for Suho only. For…
I feel you! I also read the webtoon, but it's just going in circles in this point and I wouldn't be surprised if she actually ended up alone at the end of it. Whereas the drama definitely set up Suho/Jugyeong as the ship from the start, so I highly doubt it'll have an open ending.
People wanna talk about how cringy and bad and unworthy the drama is, but here we are at 12K comments and 25K viewers on MDL. We're all engaged, so clearly True Beauty is doing something right.
Am a bit confused, are they not following as per webtoon? In the webtoon she likes Seo Jun no? But in drama its…
The drama takes place in the high school portion of the webtoon, where Jugyeong had feelings for Suho only. For example, the car accident from the webtoon (although it was slightly changed) that helped Suho and Seojun resolve their differences just happened in the last week, and there are only two weeks of the drama left. So think of this as an adaptation of only Season 1 of the webtoon.
Soo Jin could have been the best character in the drama and they ruined her. I am so upset with her story line
Honestly, what they did with Sujin in episode 12 is the *one* thing I would change about the drama. Even through 11, it was acceptable that she was being passive aggressive because Jugyeong wasn't honest. And once Jugyeong told her the truth, I could see her struggling a bit to come to terms with it. But teaming up with bullies when she's always been shown to be against them and publicly humiliating her so-called friend? Not to mention the entire freaky scene where she threw the necklace into the fire? The show really could have avoided that.
- Jugyeong would hate that and Seojun doesn't want him to go either, so he "threatens" Suho that he'll confess to Jugyeong the second he leaves.
