Praying for Ga Young to pick a better project next time. She’s SO talented, but her dramas haven’t been the…
I think this drama is making her a household name in SK and garnering her a large young following that will support her future projects, so in that sense it's great for her. I'm personally enjoying myself, but I hope all 4 leads get more mature stories and don't have to repeat high school romcom roles in their next projects!
The way Ju Gyeong is staring at Suho with immense adoration & passion ❤https://www.instagram.com/p/CKZFVpDpNO3/?igshid=1a8kyp58wjsxk
Gayoung is SO GOOD at romance scenes. I really feel her character's love in every drama of hers I've seen, which makes it impossible for me not to root for her to get who she wants.
I can't wait to see the day when JG will see what SH has written in the backseat of comic book store. I'm curious…
A+++ And I love that you pointed out the director's comments. It's pretty clear who he and the writer are shipping from how they craft the ending moments, lol. Even if someone prefers one guy for themselves, it's clear that Jugyeong wants the other one and that the narrative supports her in that lol.
Even though Sujin was off the rails this episode, the fact that we keep going back to her abusive family situation…
Also, I get that it hurts to see your fave not be with the girl he likes BUT I think True Beauty has actually done a great job of balancing the scales. We see Seojun's supportive family environment and loyal group of friends, we know he's going to make his idol career happen - especially now that the truth about Seyeon is out, and he still has Suho and Jugyeong in his life as it should be. He *is* happy, even if he's not over Jugyeong yet.
Even though Sujin was off the rails this episode, the fact that we keep going back to her abusive family situation gives me hope that there will be a redemption for her - or at least that she will have a happy ending in the form of being free from her father. Aside from that, I love how Suho and Seojun fall back into step with each other even as the awkwardness of their mutual Jugyeong feelings hangs between them. It's lovely to see Suho trying to be the best boyfriend for Jugyeong, see her caring for him and helping him through his anxiety in turn, and seeing Seojun support them both even if he's not Getting The Girl. A great contrast to what we're seeing with Sujin, though like I said: I have hope for her yet.
Won't give too many spoilers about the episode, but I loved how we see the conflict resolution between Suho-Jugyeong AND Suho-Seojun. Finally, we're dealing with our traumas and healing! Even Sujin was swayed towards the light once more until her heart broke again. I believe in you, girl! You can stop yourself from going too far.
Yeah, like I said you're entitled to your opinion. His microexpressions were the first thing I noticed, so our opinions are clearly different. Of course he has a way to go, but many actors do when they start - especially when it's not their full-time job.
As for why he's not smiling, that's because the role is explicitly not meant to smile. I'm sure he would be smiling a lot if he were playing Seojun, like he did in Hit The Top and Rookie Historian.
You are assuming there is a universal code for acting that stands the test of time, and that it is a scale from 1 to 10 where Eunwoo is at 1. I can assure you that's not the case. I am not going to freely mention whose acting in kdramas I don't like, but there are plenty. However, if it helps: I don't think Armie Hammer is very good over in the West.
Need help, Should I start this drama? I find the concept interesting ...but I am looking at the stills and some…
I don't think it'll hurt to give it a try. You'll know if the drama is for you by the end of the second episode. There are many cringy, cheesy scenes but they're also tongue-in-cheek. Here's an article going into more detail, maybe it can help you decide: https://www.theilluminerdi.com/2020/12/21/true-beauty-5-reasons-to-watch/
If you really want to understand why someone else might think differently, I'll just say I feel like Eunwoo's eyes speak volumes when he's playing these withdrawn roles such as in MIIGB or now True Beauty. The first thing I noticed about Kyung Seok was how I could tell the moment his thought process changed even though the majority of his face did not, because the expression in his eyes changed. Someone who is looking for bigger moments or characters who pop more openly obviously won't be into that, but to each their own. I also think he was very un-bland in Best Hit and Rookie Historian, so I look forward to him taking on more outgoing roles in order to hopefully make his potential more obvious.
Yes! His character is expressing more as the show goes on. I can't wait until ep 11 when Suho lets out all his…
I know that scene will kill me, but I'm also super excited for it. He's spent so long purposely concealing his emotions that it's shocking to see them really come out.
I love Eunwoo's acting, and I find that he has a lot of moments of nuance that the camera closes in to capture. I'm glad the director and writer agree, since they keep having Suho branch out in his scenes rather than keeping him to the typical idol role. Eunwoo started there, because they didn't know what he could do in MIIG, but he's grown so much since. Like Im Soo Hyang herself said, "he acts out melodramas with his eyes." <3
(This is a joke, obviously she's wrong, but if I let Suho slip through my fingers I'd be pissed too!)

Meanwhile, SUHO AND JUGYEONG MAKE OUT!
