it's sad but it's not good for production, story, nor cast. it would be a distraction, and an emotionally costly one. plus since it isn't done they have the opportunity to start from scratch adn reformulate with a new actor in mind since they bring sth diff to the table.

i'm not sure if you have lost a very close loved one (and truly i hope not) so, if not (and imo), it's EXTREMELY hard to watch them via video, look at pictures, especially so close to their passing. smiling, laughing, doing things they can never do again. not everyone feels/experiences grief this way but for most, it's hard. it would be difficult for fans too. i hope and assume, the family will be able to get his self-tapes and what he did film but for a more private experience.

i think you're right. i've been following her for a while for that reason (her body was "different") and, iirc, there was one show where they played an elephant noise when someone saw her, or other shows where she was branded "ugly." she has a fat, and lovely, face too which may be "misleading". there's another absolutely fuckin' beautiful/hot actress (preen) who is "bigger" as well and it becomes somewhat of a feature for roles and their personality since they have to deal with people's bullshit. there's so few actresses to relate to.
