Let’s be realistic—ML didn’t fall for FL simply because she’s smart. Attraction is usually a combination of feeling like you’re on the same wavelength and being physically drawn to someone. I get the sense that ML feels a genuine connection with FL, and he’s definitely physically attracted to her too.

Her eyes during the indenture scene definitely seem to hover between happiness and sadness. Why there’s that little trace of sadness is up to us to interpret. For me, it feels like there are a few “what ifs” quietly running through her mind, which feels very human considering this man was once her fiancé.
