The storyline of the FL refusing the proposal even when gossip was going around because she needed more time to…
The harder it is to win over a girl, the more precious she becomes. Even after admitting that she likes Chen Yanyun, our FL still refuses to rush into commitment, which means CYY still has a lot of work to do.
But in the long run, she will become his most valuable “investment.” I can already imagine her becoming his biggest supporter and strongest ally once political rivals start attacking him as he rises higher in court. She’s not the type of woman who will simply stand quietly behind him — she’ll likely help him survive the storm.
Can I just say how lucky our FL is to be surrounded by several genuinely good men? I really loved how quick and decisive Ji Yao cousin’s actions were, and wow, the man is filthy rich too — he practically shut down the entire Gu clan with sheer money and confidence.
But I still can’t quite figure him out. Does he simply want to protect our FL out of deep sibling-like affection, or does he actually have romantic feelings for her that he’s too afraid to admit?
Maybe because they don’t like the ML? And a lot of comments tall about how boring a mature ML is. 😍For me…
That also explains why Pursuit of Jade became such a popular drama. The ML carries a tragic past, has layered motivations, and is driven by revenge, which naturally makes Yeh Xian a far more compelling and intriguing character than the typical straightforward ML.
I love how they made Jin Zhao such a strong character 😍 Girl is no damsel in distress and her man knows that!
Yeah so far no drunk scene that makes her look silly, no acting cute… just a steady girl with beauty and brains. Even when they fall off the cliff, no piggy back ride. Loving it.
I noticed that when watching Ci Sha’s interviews, his real voice actually sounds much more bubbly, playful, and youthful. He genuinely sounds like someone his age. That’s why I’m guessing the drama intentionally used a different voice actor — to make Chen Yanyun sound more mature, composed, and authoritative than Ci Sha naturally does in real life.

But we love our ML here.
For me i really enjoy the characters of both ML and FL so i am with you. Let’s enjoy them together
