Your comment should be pinned. Like skip the scenes. Personally am not watching this drama coz am not a fan of historical dramas but I wanted to see the reception and I was shocked with the comments. I expect criticism from the plot not the scenes.

The term westernization bothers me in regards to this. Am not glorifying abusing in any way but trying to say that western media ruined the kdrama pisses me off. I have no interest in this drama ( it’s historical) but I was curious about the reception and it’s so weird reading how ppl are receiving the nudity portion. Even in western shows , there is too much nudity and ppl address it but kdrama fans act all holy and point fingers at the wrong things. Also the s abuse isn’t used as a means of glorifyication but it happened back then and it’s still happening. It sucks to watch but am sure one should be wise enough to not want to watch.
I can understand it sucks for some ppl who were eager to watch it and be disappointed; but the critics should be on the story telling. My opinion is that we should not view them as innocent and be shocked with explicit content coming from them. You can easily fast forward. They have way worse views than western ppl.

what do you mean? This ppl are way more perverted and anti feminist. At least western shows don’t hide the concept. Pretending to be innocent while the majority of men get off abusing women. Let’s be reasonable

I’d say it’s not an original script. it’s so overused but it’s not turning me off yet. Am ok with it plus I really like Jung somin .

their expectations are unrealistic. I don’t think I have it in me to watch the next episode

I actually stopped listening to K-pop and I decided to watch this randomly coz treasure has helped me through quarantine. I liked the concept but I feel like I got emotionally invested coz I was heated . Am an introvert and my oldest sister is super introverted like no friends at all and I get the situation. I hope it doesn’t ruin his self esteem coz I don’t think I’ll resume after that if it were me.


I wish they went the ikon route coz they did idol school trip with Japanese girls and it was super chill. 7 guys 7 girls and in the end they all exchanged bracelets . No one was left out so I hopped for that vibe coz it’s not fully a dating show but sort of interactive.

the thing that pissed me off was that they made the whole episode about him just to disappoint. Am sorry dude is trying way more than the first group . Plus you can’t tell someone to get out of their comfort zone all over sudden. I’d take the effort coz he is doing great. What more do they want?

I wish they eliminated the whole voting part. It’s an unfamiliar situation and they r trying but the voting seems to be so unfair. I was pissed with ep 8 so am not interested anymore

So when I started I was like oh jihan looks good. My first drama with him and he is so good looking but….. Dohan. I’ve watched him before in like 4 dramas but why is he looking extra fine . As a person who doesn’t thirst over actors ( this is not the case also) I have my eyes on him.

That’s my only takeaway so far ; don’t judge me.

The selling part for me is the dialogues and interactions. Seems mature and not forced . It’s rare to see that in romcoms nowadays

I also was excited to watch Kim jiwon after My liberation notes, that drama made me like her a lot. So it sucks to watch this after that.

I feel the same and I somehow keep running into people who are new to kdramas who don’t understand my situation so it’s great to see someone who shares the same opinions as me. I won’t call myself a critic or a trusted review ;I just want to enjoy something and share an experience with others.

I hate cliche scenes btwn the main characters the most. I fast forward a lot so what’s the point anymore

And I dropped a lot of them . I mean in the beginning when I was getting into the kdrama scene I was a teen so they were enjoyable but now the good ones are the unexpected ones.
I used to have full week to now dropping them like it’s nothing.

I have to give up on this one. Maybe it wil become better later on but now am not feeling it . Sucks coz the actors are great but that doesn’t justify anything. I hope people enjoy it coz it has a really good reception but it’s not for me.

it’s a great drama just that the way they confessed their feelings was premature. But a good romcom nonetheless. enjoying it way more than a currently trending drama
