My husband, who never sits down with me for live watches, actually asked me to fire up the episode soon as it was up on Netflix. I don't know how he puts up with all my gushing, because I legit watched ep6 while squealing and kicking my legs on the couch.
What an awesome ride, my god these two will be death of me, they're so gorgeous and sweet together 😍
Ok but honest to god I can’t take the male lead’s “smile trauma” seriously… no matter what I just can’t
Every time his trauma flares up it makes me cackle. It reminds me of the trauma Buddy the Elf had with the Jack in the Box toys at Santa's workshop. The fever dream he has later in the movie, with the Jack in black and white, totally comes to mind during those flashback scenes in this drama.
Neither. The webtoon was suggested by Kakao and started as a prequel. It's running in parallel now and will continue with the story after the drama is over. Go check it out! Unfortunately there's no translation available
In contrast I'd like to nominate the stupidest scene. Dr Cha striding out of the shadows in her leathers.. was…
Tbh I fast forwarded through the last third of 15, it was too draggy for me. I know what scene you mean, but idk why it happened, nor does it matter to me 🤣
My favorite scene in the whole drama has to be the mil opening the fridge while exclaiming her frustration at Dr Cha not recognizing the importance and value of having a husband, and instead her getting slapped by the demonstrable self-reliance, importance and value of a wife. Who needs a man, seriously.
The drama had more filler than I would've liked to see, but the fact that she proved to herself that she is all she needs, and found her happiness through her own choices, rather than following societal expectations, made it a very worthwhile watch.

Agreed on all points. Someone called it a poor man's goblin and I feel that, but it's also not a bad thing imo. It's not a sweeping, emotional roller-coaster, even though it shares a lot of themes. The execution is appropriate and like you said, sometimes you need a drama where you don't overthink and just enjoy the silliness.
I've not watched him in that drama, but he definitely has a type hehe

@bloomingtide Hear hear! I'm definitely enjoying the goofiness. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not.
Watching on viki with all the literal translations and translator notes for the word play they frequently use in dialogues is also kind of awesome, tho I have to rewind so much to read and understand, I don't mind.
And you're right, KJH is really enjoying this role. The physical comedy is enjoyable and he's really delivering. ISH is doing well, too, I just have no benchmark for her, ha

Every death so far has been ridiculous. I thought he was already immortal when he ripped that arrow out of his chest and kept on fighting. Where did the girl's mom go while he was killing the pharmacist? 😂 How did her mom not see the ONE car coming on that empty road? Maybe she was hard of hearing, too. How does a body fall from the roof and barely have a scratch??
The scene when she finds him and they're talking in the seaside town in ep2, why did they have half the conversation in one place and then randomly they move to another? The directorial choices are... Yeahhhh.. 😂 But it's all part of the goofiness to me, so it's okay

ISH has made me drop dramas before, I started this one expecting to as well, but was pleasantly surprised that she's alright here. KJH is in his element with this type of character, very Alberto Gu. Not sure I'll make it to the end, but so far, I'm enjoying it 😊
the whole trip home in ep14 had me pulling my hair out. this drama does tension combined with great angles and lighting + gorgeous faces to a TEEEEEE. i'll be bald by the time they actually kiss
Sometime in q1 or q2 2023. I think filming is planned to wrap in April, so if it's pre-produced, it would be after April. If it starts airing before filming wraps, maybe it could be March. It's anyone's guess.
So glad NGM came back with comedy full of heart and snappiness, this is my favorite genre for him.
And Park Sung Joon glowed up well! He was annoying in Sweet Munchies but still managed to grab my attention, and now I'm on the lookout for his next project, hopefully a meatier role.

Imo, it's not supposed to be serious 😅
