No, it's not a thing.
It was explained in ep3 that he takes side gigs for extra money, like keeping the CEO company in jailhouse visits. He billed a few million won for that, if memory serves.

The episode count was originally 16, but the content of 17 was not new. The ending itself was filmed 3 months before it started airing. Not sure about the resolution, all the episodes look the same on my device, but I'm watching the bluray so I'll pay attention now that you mention it 😁.

Skipping any content is a personal choice, but if everything had a happy ending, dramaland would be pretty boring. This one has the perfect ending it deserves, as true as it can be to historical events.

They added the extra episode to make room for additional content in earlier episodes, not to end it in a different manner. It follows the same ending from the novel, and that last scene was the reason LSY even signed up for the role 😊

that's impressive that you held out that long! it really is a very intense ride
It πŸ’― broke more than a few of us. I've been on a drama dropping binge this whole year, nothing compares to the experience of watching TRS.

This board was humming when it was on-going, every single day we'd get something. MBC kept us very well fed 😁

Watching those last two episodes back to back when they went up on new year's day was the most gut-wrenching thing I've experienced that wasn't something actually direct and personal. The acting was out of this freaking world, it's hard to watch and not be affected.

I know I jumped off my seat and wailed with his "please, love me". F that line, I still cry when I catch that on social media 😭 so yeah the very last scene an amazing release, but everything leading up to it was pure agony πŸ˜…

Seen Koreans say the romance was unnecessary and the drama was losing it's charm towards the end and gotta agree.…
Thank you for this. The insta-one-sided-love from ljh at the start never made sense to me. Did he really fall for her because he thought her disability is adorable?

I get that tsunderes are overdone in dramas, and these good boys have appeal, but damn this one isn't a good boy, he's a good paper cut-out in the shape of a guy. So flat and boring.

Can anyone tell me how much % of the live action version follows the novel - did it adapt it well?.....please…
S1 goes till about chapter 490 of 1118. This season was faithfully adapted, where it mattered (for example, the drama makes no allusions to Ning Que's origins, whereas the novel brings it up often, though it's never really explored, so it's not really meaningful that it was left out).

S2 doesn't go to the end, and perhaps we won't see a S3.

I read the novel in between S1 and S2 and I couldn't stomach the S2 adaptation, I found it very weak and it did not do justice to the epicness and savagery of the novel.

The novel is amazing, this S1 is just as amazing, imo.

Another thing that keeps nagging at me. When they first got together, he said he could read all her thoughts on her face. Is she not that transparent anymore? Can he not tell what's going on with her? Did that change too? For him to conclude that she's regretful while she's thinking the exact opposite, that doesn't click at all with what he said then. But he's not mentioned anything about her not being readable anymore, if that's the case.

Or again it's probably just the crappy script.

They both tip-toed around each other so much that it left me so confused. She called it herself the highest level difficulty relationship, but then she tried even less than she had before? Make it make sense, please.

His self confidence was definitely brought down a few notches (Woong is such a great guy!! 🀣🀣🀣 I don't get why people like him, honestly, but that's a different convo) so he changed. He already felt he'd burdened her with the ring, then probably again felt he burdened her with the damn potatoes and asking to come in to her place, he didn't want her to be with him out of pity, like she was with Woong in the hospital. I get his pov, but damn the choice he made is so cruel. He could've told her he'd had the accident in the US and had just flown back, if he really insisted on lying πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ at least that way it would've hurt less.

This ! The dirty dishes threw me off! I mean after all this time of dating she still wants to show the best version…
Exactly! All the while not bothering to actually talk. She could've asked for a few minutes and taken care of the worst of the mess (and excuse me, when has her apartment been shown at any time in any state of disarray, to warrant that kind of sabotage??) but that wouldn't have served this dumb plot, I guess.

All these characters are so stupid, I'm sorry, I half watched sighing in exasperation and half cursing at my tv. The acting is great, but the script is a big pile of πŸ’©.

Yes, I'm officially rage-watching 🀣

Title Yumi's Cells Season 2 Spoiler
A rant, because this is now reminding me of the last couple of episodes in Because This is My First Life.

I know crtl z and ruby get together in the webtoon, but spending such a huge part of 12 on it out of the blue felt like I was watching a different drama all of a sudden. Giant needless shoehorn.

The pity that Yumi feels for Woong, and how that causes her to take action, gives me second-hand embarrassment. He takes it as crumbs, and she's inadvertently leading him on.

His pettiness is on a whole different level, too. What the heck was that at the end of 11/start of 12? More second-hand embarrassment.

Her prioritizing her ego over the cleanliness of her apartment vs babi (seemingly) wanting to get closer to her was freaking mind-blowing. She then turned around and thought he had regrets, without realizing she's the one that didn't want him seeing dirty dishes?! The blindness regarding her own self-sabotage is impressive.

Babi taking away the right for Yumi to make her own decisions is also so wrong. That's not even noble idiocy, that's just unfair to her. Carrying a lie like that for a whole week, wow.

Idk if we're really meant to root for anyone or any coupling here, but so far they're all exhausting to watch 😭 this has turned into the rare drama I stick with just because I like the actors 🀣 goeun and jinyoung are so pretty πŸ™ƒ

Since the first season the premise of the show was to show the emotional development of a young lady as she lives…
πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’― She infuriated me. Babi chose to do the right thing and eliminate the temptation, but that was worse for her than if he'd hidden the whole thing. How does that make sense?

I dropped s1 because she absolutely exhausted me, and I'm heading in the same direction now with 2.

Looks like it could be airing on JTBC and streaming on Netflix.
That's right. Glad it doesn't seem it'll go the way of Lost with jtbc + iqiyi 😬
