i dont want to assume or what, but the representation of lgbtq+ here is quite fucked up, and thus i came up with…
A feeling I got when the character and interaction with bogum came up in the first episodes was that this looks like a rebuttal to all the rumors and stories published about bogum being gay. It didn't feel natural or well presented, and indeed homophobic. "I'm not gay, look at how I turn down this guy's advances!"
This drama needs to come with a trigger warning (jk, the synopsis is enough). If you've lost someone you love to cancer, if you've been a caretaker or have been through it yourself, this drama hits like a ton of bricks. Episode 4 broke me. I'm here for it, though, I love the sensitivity, compassion, and candor that they express in dealing with such a harrowing topic.
There is good slice of life, and then there is boring slice of life..Expected more but maybe I shouldn't after…
It had to be said, thank you! It's okay to lower your standards as a viewer and still watch it as the boring drama it is (that sort of passes off as slice of life genre - notice MDL doesn't acknowledge that), it's even better to just accept it as genre-less PBG eye-candy (I started fast forwarding so much, it may as well be a PBG YouTube edit lol).
is it just only my impression that Park Bo Gum's kiss scene here is nothing compared to his Encounter projects?…
Nothing of his that I've seen beats the one in Reply 1988. Encounter has a nice first kiss, all others are forgettable (literally - I can't remember any of them)
So much negativity yet such a high score.DYLB has no negativity yet the same score.how?
If you go through the site and not the app, and mouse over the score, you'll see that this one has verified/star user rating at 6.8 and Brahms is at 8.9.
Besides scores stabilizing, what you're seeing is possibly also what prompted them to show those ratings separately to begin with: people creating throwaway accounts just to bump up ratings for actors they like, regardless of the quality of the drama (see: the king eternal monarch).
Drama is rated for 18+ on Netflix, I feel that we will get something spicy later in the series
On US Netflix it's rated as TV-14. Looks like it's your country that has it tagged for 18+? It's Park Bo Gum, he doesn't do spicy, as far as I've heard, but we can dream :)
I think I've seen higher quality productions in my camera reel. I feel bad for the actors here - between jumpy and unfocused camera work, terribad editing, and shallow script, this really feels like a high school project back from when *i* went to high school (don't ask).
Staying for Lee Jong Won and Gong Jung Hwan, but if you want good quality, "Our Baseball" was a far superior web drama featuring the same two actors. This makes me want to rewatch that one.
I just finished this drama last night and i really loved it and all, but can someone explain the ending to me?…
Here's an overview of the timeline at the end. I don't know if the writer actually got to read the script, but it's plausible that it was this complex, and not shown, because they barely had time to film/edit the final episode before it had to air
This drama is reminding me of Immortal Beloved in the best way possible (totally different context, but a story, feelings, conveyed through compositions and juxtaposed with the composer's life is simply sublime.) The end of 3, with him at the piano, and what followed, was lovely, perfect. Very excited to see more!
Maybe yes but LJK Fandom would shred the writer to pieces.. He can do a movie that way but a drama? A strict no..It…
I think we all knew we were getting a ridiculous drama the moment we saw her giving him mouth to mouth under water in the first episode, I didn't expect it to get even more ridiculous. I watching this drama for the laughs, and it delivers consistently!

This. I expected detective Cha to be arrested for harboring a fugitive. I suppose Choi is dirty enough that he was willing to let it go. Dramaland being Dramaland, none of this or anything else you mentioned happened or will happen. But of all the insane Dramaland things that have happened so far, the one where she dives into the other side of the pool instead of running to him along the edge has to be the most hilarious thing I've seen this year.
Her being asked to sign the contract on the spot was fishy af. It left me uncomfortable for the duration of the episode. Why does it feel like this publisher is part of a drama therapy scheme set up by the doctor? Previews for 5 seem to indicate she's in for a disappointment (ahh rain and umbrella, we were missing that one cliché so far).
I love, love, love Soulmate, written by the same screenwriter, however this one leaves me wanting, and it feels it's a combination of the writing and the acting. Will keep watching and hoping for an amazing ending, but definitely this is badly lacking next to Soulmate.
When did Ling Xiao and Jian Jian get together? Suddenly in ep 29 they just admitted that they're together.
There was a scene where he called himself her boyfriend and she agreed that that was the right term, if memory serves. This happened I think on ep 25 or so, after their first kiss on the couch.
Ling Xiao is unhealthy dependent on Li Jian. I want to see writer address this too
I agree, he has a co-dependency problem, but so many parties in relationships do, I'm glad they're not hiding the fact that it's unhealthy, but also not uncommon. I also hope they show there are ways to overcome this, and they should show them trying to (him actively, her supporting his process). I'm glad that they're not romanticizing it.
And LZW didn't save WQS as much as he saved himself. WQS was a non-entity from the time he walked into the ocean through the end, pretty much.
