Title The Journey of Chong Zi Spoiler
As far as Final Battle goes, in a drama perspective this is how I understood it:
What I got out of that battle in the drama perspective is that, in order for him to master the Heart Mirror Spell final stage, is for Yin Fan to let go of his love for Chong Zi(to be indifferent), but Yin Fan cannot bring himself to do that, he wanted to hold onto his love for her, so he chose the other way, which is to sacrifice himself to master that technique and save Chongzi instead, because he couldn't bring himself to kill her again the second time. HE COULDN'T KILL HER. I am glad they showed me this, because if he did kill her again the second time, wouldn't fans be more upset because it's like back to square 1 in Chong Zi first life. So for me personally I saw that more like a development AND a contrast to how back then he had no choice but to kill her with his sword to protect Nanhua but this time, he chose to do the opposite, to protect and save her from being the matyre to the sword forever.

I may be a minority but that part when it revealed that it was an act from Yin Fan when he put his sword in reverse to have Chong Zi kill him(she was going all out), and when Yin Fan told Chong Zi to not be afraid and that it's now over. For me personally I did cry in that scene because I love how they play out their emotions... She is saved from Ni Lun Sword because she was cleansed by Heart Mirror spell. That did came at the expense of Yin Fan death though, but I did love the message implied behind what happened and that (1) Yin Fan would rather die than to let go of his love for her... (2) He couldn't bring himself to kill her again the second time.

It was Chong Zi choice in the end to want to go into the sword and them being a spirit together, because she couldn't live in a world without him in it. Yin Fan would do the same too if the situation was reverse since he made it clear to the immortals when he blasted his Min Shixiong that if Chong Zi is dead, he won't live on either... So to me it's just the reverse scenario of that scene from what Chong Zi showed me when she went into the sword as well.

I know this was completely changed in the Novel, and I get why Novel Fans is upset of this change if they like that part in the Novel better, but I'm just here to shed some light to that part, in a Drama perspective. Like I said, I am a minority in here.

I respect if those feels differently or like the Novel better, because while I cannot completely relate for Journey of Chongzi, I can when it comes to Song of the Moon...

P.S: Journey of Chongzi does NOT end in episode 40, YOU NEED to watch EPISODE 41 for the EPILOGUE HAPPY END.

Title The Journey of Chong Zi Spoiler
I'm still confused what the heck is Wang yue? Why's he so obsessed with chongzi, and why he dissappear with just…
Wang Yue *SPOILERS* is the last surviving God of the GOD realm. His true identity is God of Moon, which was banished from the God Realm because it was said that he did something that not even Heavens or God can forgive.

Don't relate "Wang Yue" to his character portrayal in Song of the Moon(Drama) because God of Moon character was completely changed from his actual character in the Novel (Fly to the Moon).

Wang Yue have his own spinoff Novel where he is the main which takes place around 3-4 generations after "Chong Zi" Novel.

In the Novel "Wang Yue(or Yue for short)" is actually a Grey Character (Anti-Hero). I love him in his spinoff Novel: Fly to the Moon.

I also appreciate I get this version of "Wang Yue" in Journey of Chongzi because it is closer to his character portrayal in the Novel when compared to Song of the Moon.

He is obsess with Chongzi, because she's the daughter of Ni Lun and like he said, he needed an exterior force/help to achieve his plans(on what he wanted to accomplish) at the end.

Why he disappear like that in the Drama? Well, he was sealed away.... And honestly, that part made no sense to me...

To me this drama still deserves a solid 8. I don't care about the ratings MDL anymore. I did my part to express…
I felt like those are just there to spread negativity in here

I don’t get why LYF didn’t kill that biatch 🤬
I actually said the same thing too and was disappointed that he didn't kill her...

But then seeing how much that bitch suffer and being bullied in episode 41 was so satisfying though!

The only thing I didn't like was the other bitch (who loves Zhuo Hao) didn't get the punishment she deserves...

But oh well at least I got Yin Fan blasting his Min Shixiong and said what he said to them. For me that blast was satisfying to see, but I wish the other bitch would have gotten her punishment as well...

Is it this that bad ?
It's up to ones preference. For me I liked and enjoyed it.

Rating doesn't determine whether a drama is good or not because at the end of the day I have watched high rating dramas and didn't like some of them and didn't find it to be that good .

On the contrary low rating dramas does make me curious personally to check out just why it's that bad and then when I watch it, it's not as bad as those people claim it to be.

You can check a few episodes to see for yourself.

I agree that it's not the best drama, the drama and story had some flaws which I know can be done better BUT I honestly don't think it deserve a rating under 5. That's my opinion.

The rating is dropping again.
To me this drama still deserves a solid 8.

I don't care about the ratings MDL anymore.

I did my part to express my opinion in my review.

I will never understand those who give this a rating 1-4 but I will just accept that at the end of the day, everyone acceptance and liking certain things is different.

I still stand by what I say and how I feel about this drama in my review in here..

Just a reminder that scriptwriters have far less power in the Chinese system when compared to their American counterparts.…
Well there is probably that too (not saying this was the case here) looking at the overall but then we never know what is happening behind the scenes anyway.

But that being said I don't mind actors adding their parts to the script that makes the scene better though.

I'm not sure if you know but there is an episode 41 ending. But if after watching episode 41 and that's your feeling…
Is this even considered a high budget drama though?

If it is then sure, I can name those high budget drama that is worst than this for me personally that I don't like but does it matter? LOL. In the end, I can name them but if people don't feel the same about it then that's all subjective.

Not everyone feels the same about preferences and acceptance.

If you don't like this drama than you made your point so move on instead of clinging onto the negativity.

You are free to not like something but you don't have the right to enforce your opinions to have them feel the same as you. We all accept and like things differently.

LYF killing her in her past life, needed to happen for the progress of the story into their second life. At least…
Wang Yue character is God of Moon(Yue).

His character portrayal in the Novel (Fly to the Moon) is very different to how the Drama Song of the Moon adapted him to be. It is not an accurate portrayal in Song of the Moon though but he used to be God of Moon and he's the last remaining God that is alive in the novel

Journey of Chongzi story time line takes place a few generations before the Novel 'Fly to the Moon'.

Episode 41 ending is the epilogue and the true ending.

I can't share it for now since this ending is restricted on the WETV APP.

IF you want to find out what happened exactly in that ending then read on..

***SPOILERS ***

In that ending it shows 100 years passed and both Chong Zi and Yin Fan was able to cultivate a physical body since they were both in the mortal realm.

It started off Chong Zi was at restaurant enjoying the story from the story telling guy which he's telling a story of the final battle.

Then, Yin Fan came back with a Jar of wine since he went and got them (I find it sweet how he called her 娘子 since I see that in a context as wife). Chong Zi asked Yin Fan if they can come again the next time to listen to their stories . Yin Fan tease her and said that she likes these type of story telling that well literally is made up to fool people. Chong Zi replied back saying that she doesn't care as long as it is enjoyable to her so she enjoys hearing these stories. Then Yin Fan promised Chong Zi with a smile that if that's what she wants then they can come again. They both left the restaurant like a loving couple and then Yin Fan held onto her hand and he told her to not let go of his hand (in a sweet tone) and then Chong Zi laughed and held on tighter.

They both left the restaurant together and was walking down the streets back home and we also see that bitch Ting Xie became a beggar where she saw them and wanted to chase after them and then she got bullied by the other bullies. She was pathetic but that scene was so satisfying.

Back in Nanhua we see Yu Du recruiting new mortals to become his disciple and that's when he saw a person who looks the same as Qin Ke (so he was reborn and entered Nan Hua again to be a disciple under him) Yu Du was so happy to see him and it was implied he will accept him as his disciple

We then get to see Zhuo Hao reminiscing back to his time back then with Chong Zi etc

Then afterwards we get Yin Fan and Chong Zi sitting on top of the mountain cliff enjoying their wine in the sunset with the sword floating in mid air, where they were enjoying the wine together , Yin Fan made a comment saying something about the century year old wine is good. A good wine is better the longer it is. Chong Zi commented on that and said that just like people(meaning them) , after she said that, we have that flashbacks of their times together (it was quite emotional for me looking at the journey and hardships they've been through to finally can be together in the end), after the flashback ended, Yin Fan agree and said to her that they will be together forever (300 years, 30,000 years etc). She leaned into him happily and that is the end.

I'm not sure if you know but there is an episode 41 ending. But if after watching episode 41 and that's your feeling…
I got spoiled with what Yin Fan is like in the Novel and that's also the main reason why I have been putting it on hold from reading it even when I have already started with a few chapters in.

I'm glad they made that change to have Yin Fan care and is a better character than him in the novel during those times.

Aside from some of those parts which I do agree can be done better in a way that made sense to me for his drama version , I do like Yin Fan in the overall and he's definitely one of my favourite in this drama.

Yeah this drama can definitely do better but I still love and enjoyed it and don't regret watching it..I am content with that episode 41 ending. I love the flashback scene they put it. I love how Yin Fan call her 娘子 at the restaurant that was really endearing to me, since I see that in the context that he meant wife when he said it. So for me this drama is not THAT bad. I've seen worst when compared to this but unfortunately it feels like a majority just hated this drama in the end. Well everyone is different in here. I'm a minority because I don't hate this drama or find it to be a waste of my time. I can say I love this one better than Song of the Moon (cries) and that goes to say a lot seeing how I was into that one before this came along.
