You need to understand that from writing perspective for ending side of things episode 39, follows similarly to the novel because LS did sacrificed herself and he will have to find her again.

As revealed in the extras that after a lot of effort and time he was able to find her again and they got their happy ending.

Honestly I don't mind episode 39 ending scene and this is coming from someone who wants a happy ending for my favourite CP and fav characters.

Episode 39 ending scene for main pairing goes will get their happy ending eventually that while that's off screen(that sucks), but it doesn't feel rushed or make us doubt if it's real or not, LG will find her again and I believe that LS will regain her human body eventually too.

I'm not saying I don't like episode 40 but I'm just saying that people should not skip episode 39 at least they have a chance to watch and see for themselves...

Episode 39 at least coherently makes sense from writing perspectives and doesn't feel rushed at the end.

I will never forgive the editors for cutting those previous scenes that ZBB worked so hard to act out on his end 😭😭 it just doesn't sit right for me...

I hope they will post the deleted scenes one day.... Well one can hope ....

No that scene is the ending because LS asked LG when he came back to her where did he gone since he made her waited a very long time for him. So that's the ending, but more like a secret ending they filmed that never got aired.

If LG is going somewhere for a long time like the scene you suggested then he would let LS know since they have that mutual trust and understanding which is why I love them so much. Let's not forget that the Moon bell and Wang bell , they can communicate with each other so if LS misses him she would have contacted him but the fact that she didn't know where LG went all that time and she was waiting for him to return to her and that took a very long time shows that is the extended ending if the stupid editors didn't delete it that is...

So that ending was implied that LG sacrificed himself and LS have to wait for him again... In the end, he finally returned but she said she waited a long time for him.

That's how I interpret that deleted scene on my end.

Why the video said that those scenes was cut because it wasn't.

Although I do know that there are deleted scenes which I am still pissed at the editors for deleting those great scenes. I really feel sorry for ZBB if he put in his best efforts to do those scenes but they were cut instead 😭😭

Lol , ZBB said he loves sad endings? 💔 Is that why people keep saying he never gets the girl in other dramas? I came to love ZBB and to to be honest I don't mind sad throughout the story but the ending needs to be happy to contrast their sad story like all the pain and suffering is worth it in the end. I want ZBB character that I came to love to have a happy ending since I want to see him happy not sad in the end.

I will respect ZBB feelings though. I read that he also like to accept scripts if the role is good and interesting and he did said that SOTM story leave an impact for him since he like the story direction.

He will find her again, although it will take a while for that to happen, but eventually he will. In the novel they got their happy ending when he found LS again so it is leading off to that.

While episode 39 ending scene is sad but it didn't make it hopeless. Maybe because it ties in similar to the novel.

At least I didn't have doubt in the episode 39 ending scene. For me the ending scene in that episode was done better even when I don't like sad endings but at least it didn't feel rushed and didn't didn't create doubts.

P.S. I'm glad you liked how I combined the two endings there. ZBB is really good at portraying sad scenes so I love his sad scenes (not implying I want to see him suffer though just the moment when he's sad it brought so many emotions for me so he's a great actor IMO!)

I'm glad you liked it! :) This one took longer than my other ones since I was trying to choose the scenes that fits this mv for me and to bring out the emotions. And yeah that last part killed me too 😭😭 but I felt like putting it in since I love BB expressions there.

That ending isn't so bad because they will eventually reunite and get their happy ending (similar to the novel), it just took longer to get that because LG have to find her again. My heart hurts for him!! 😭😭

I knew about him through TMOPB as Li Jing back then but in this drama his portrayal of 4 different characters really stand out to me and I came to really love and appreciate him through this drama.

I didn't know he acted in a theatre before 😯 that's interesting! I always enjoy this emotional scenes he really deserve an award for that. It felt so real and realistic and I'm honestly glad he got this role in SOTM because if not I probably didn't know he's that good!! 😍😍

I was replying to you about the cut scenes that was opted out, and if they were deleted it's not the actors fault but the person who chose to delete them...

But okay, each to their own opinion on how we view the pairing to this drama. Since everyone have different preference and what appeals to them.

He can carry the show for me! Never got bored with his scenes in it! :)

I do think he made a breakthrough in this drama since I will always love him and remember him through this drama.

If you also noticed that at the end when Luo Ge tapped her with the fan , he was also carrying his Moon bell with him, so it hinted to us that he's back as Luo Ge but because they are in the mortal realm and Luo Ge usually wear that outfit he goes to the mortal realm to spend time with her than he's back.

But honestly in terms of writing it in a coherent manner, episode 39 made sense to me because at least they followed more closely to the novel in a similar way where he was trying to find LS again, but he was able to in the end and they get their happy ending.

If episode 40 ending scene switch to the secret ending scene that was filmed but not aired in the final episode I would have liked that better as they is more complete and felt more real and much better IMO!

After watching the two ending again I also felt that the episode 39 ending makes more sense at least it's more coherent and doesn't leave room for us to question or doubt at the end...

It is crazy! All that planning and preparation to act out each scene with care but gets deleted , honestly if I was the actor myself I would be annoyed and disappointed but I know they are professional about this so yeah.. I am just sad this scene didnt make it to the finale....

And I noticed the editing process they cut out more scenes too when compared to what I see them in BTS trying to act those scenes this is all too sad.

Ending should be a wrap up and conclusion to the story not leading to more questions.

There's actually a secret ending that was deleted... I saw the bts and prefer that ending better...

Ending aside for me I will always love the main pairing, and Luo Ge, Liu Shao and He Na!

They could have stuck to that ending in episode 39and have episode 40 showing Luo Ge being able to find her again. That would tie in similarly to the novel IMO... In the novel, extras he did find her again eventually so it is a happy ending. I didn't lose hope in episode 39 since we see her divine spirit of the Phoenix is following him so thats not so bad.

I am not saying I dislike episode 40 ending however it just felt so fast pace and that ending scene made me question if it's real or not and I don't like that... Ending should not leave questions but it should be a conclusion to the story!

Honestly if they stick to episode 39 ending .... Where they have episode 40 wrap up to Luo Ge finding Liu Shao again that would be nice... It would tie in similar to the novel ending that goes into the extras where they reunite and can be happy although the process of him finding her again was not easy...

In the end, it is how the writing is handled coherently that made which is better.

Both are going to have a happy ending just one of them will have to wait a bit longer (ep 39).

The other one (episode 40), raised questions for me when I saw that ending scene. And I don't like that personally, but I can only take that as real(to make me feel better.....)
