Watching the drama again and just want to say after my rewatch, the first time Luo Ning asked her brother (Luo Ge) to spare A Fu, is.... Okay, I can understand... It was her dying wish....
BUT the second time.... It really just make me dislike Luo Ning or facepalm at the situation..... Like when Luo Ge was going to kill A Fu, which by the way after the chaos he caused in putting the three realms in danger and what he did to He Na as well, he deserves DEATH. But Luo Ning came out to protect him again... Was really WTF to me...
It is WTF at that situation and downgrade her character for me because if she can come out then, why the hell did she not come out earlier when A Fu was attacking Luo Ge?! Or even his attempt to kill him when he said that Luo Ning immortal energy was inside Luo Ge half heart?!
So she will come out at that specific moment but not earlier?! I know it was for plot purposes but for how the writers wrote it like that really downgrade her character for me and made me face palm at the situation..
Honestly people is fine to ship who they want but for me I don't find the second pairing: A Fu and Luo Ning appealing at all, for the majority of the story with what AF showed me. The more the writers tried to put it in our faces and makes it "appealing", the more I don't find it appealing but forced.
just finished but kinna hate the ending ep 39 liu shao death right?but why it has different ending in ep 40?can…
There's two ending depending on the choice made by Liu Shao. The first ending follows the novel where Liu Shao "died" and he will have to find her again. Which in the novel it did happen in the extras...
Personally for me I do like episode 39 since that is a heartfelt emotional episode for me...
I explained the ending in more detail in my review if you want to check it out in here.
The second ending in episode 40, I made a comment here https://kisskh.at/66261-ben-yue#comment-12241417 (explaining some subtle hints I picked up after watching episode 40 again a couple of times)...
Love Vin Zhang, but sorry this is way too boring!! ML is supposed to be powerful, but he is injured or spitting…
They did explained it that Liu Shao and his spiritual powers influence each other.
So when he uses his powers on her, it will affect him and it will take him time to recover due to the conflicting powers.
The fact that he's not at 100% but can still put up a good fight and do all that to stabilize the four seasons monument that the evil spirit throws at him AND hold off the evil spirit until near the end shows he's worthy...
And he does NOT spit blood most of the time, so not sure why you said that, at least not as much as some other dramas I've seen of the ML spitting blood almost 90% of the time
I knew about the ending. Is the romance department good here?
For me I love the main pairing romance, along with some side romance(except for the second pairing romance), but at the end of the day it's up to ones preference.
The drama is not bad, however, it could definitely be better. What it suffers from is poor execution because the…
Binbin did himself justice in this drama for me because despite that I know the story can be better but his acting and character portrayal is top quality and I will always remember him in this drama and thanks to him playing 4 different characters in this drama I came to love and appreciate him to another level
It's not fair how the actors put in their part to act the scenes but then the final editing side is they delete it.
If they have this ending I would have been fine with it...
Its really too bad how it ended. Ending should be a conclusion to the story and not leave us with more questions at the end which I feel at the end of episode 40.
I am okay with the ending to episode 39 since that ties in similar to the novel but instead of doing one alternate ending in episode 40 they could have used episode 40 to wrap up the story and have Luo Ge find Liu Shao again which ties into the extras in the novel...
P.S. I don't think Luo Ge went missing for a year after he "died" since it will probably be more than that seeing how we saw the grown form of A Fu and Luo Ning reincarnated self again.
Both drama ending have its pros and cons but for me I felt that episode 39 shouldn't be missed because it's such a heartfelt episode and I love that Luo Ge has control of his body and him wearing black too, is handsome!
I just want to say that this drama is good in its own way, but it's such a shame that Lan Chi was not in the drama, since I love how in the novel he had great interactions with Yue(God of Moon)! Like I never get bored with their interactions lolll
And I just laugh how Liu Shao wants to beat Lan Chi up in the novel because of what Lan Chi said to her earlier and she asked Yue for his permission since Lan Chi is his loyal servant and Yue didn't object to that slight punishment that Liu Shao wanted to give Lan Chi (poor Lan Chi XD) 😂😅
Episode 40So I was watching that final episode again. And picked up some details, on my end.
- So when Luo Ge "died", we see that Liu Shao was playing with her Corroding Harp where you see both Luo Ge's Moon Sword and Moon Bell was there. And you know what the effects of Corroding Harp actually does.
- Then we have Liu Shao was wandering the mortal realm and she saw A Fu and Luo Ning reincarnated, so this signify there's a time skip here (seriously writers, you can't even put in that effort to tell us this?!)
- And then in that ending scene, we saw Luo Ge using his fan to tap on Liu Shao's shoulder lightly to show that he's back.. And he have his moon bell back with him even when this was kept with Liu Shao in the immortal palace..
I honestly wish the ending to episode 40 was handled better... But after watching that ending scene in episode 40 again a couple of times I do think he's back but can they not exchange a few words or something... I think Luo Ge have his full memories intact and there's a time skip after he "died" before he can form a physical body to return to Liu Shao again.
And lastly Luo Ge did promise her that he will return to her... So while this ending scene to episode 40 felt rushed but he did return... So yeah.. while subtle but the hints is there...
I'm still not entirely happy with how they deleted some of my favourite scenes, but I will still love SOTM since I enjoyed every episode that has my favourite moments in it.
Novel is differet to the drama in terms of story and character direction. However the ending scene to episode 39 and outcome where LS sacrificed herself and him having to find her again is the same.
Did this end with a happy ending? Currently on ep 23 and I feel so bad for He Na. Please let me know so I'll know…
Theres two endings....
The first ending coherently makes sense to me
The second ending feels like a lot of things happening at the same time and it leads to a rush feeling at the end .
Personally I wouldn't recommend skipping the first ending since it was a heartfelt episode and it ties in closer to the novel ending (but it was revealed that in the extras, he was able to find her again so they got their happy ending).
Depends on how you are looking in a story. An ending that is believable and doesn't feel rushed or an ending that gives a happy ending just for the sake of a happy ending even when it raises questions after the ending scene..
Wow. That was weird. But it was Luo Ge who talked about Liu Shao serving him to his satisfaction and then he would…
Yeah he does. I normally don't like seeing my favourite character suffer since they don't deserve it but the way Binbin acted out those emotions was done so well where when he's suffering or is hurting inside he really expresses it well through his micro expression and this is why I came to appreciate him to a new level in this drama because he's just that good!!
Even with the supporting characters I've seen him in (Eternal Love, Love O2O), I still like him and the way he brought out the characters on his end.
He has an amazing talent in playing out different roles and I really like him! Even as an evil character (Dark God of Moon), I still can't hate him lol.
A romance of a little forest, is that modern or wuxia?
Wow. That was weird. But it was Luo Ge who talked about Liu Shao serving him to his satisfaction and then he would…
You're welcome :)
Yeah I also love it on my end that's why I always love the chemistry between Luo Ge and Liu Shao, like how much he's holding back to openly express his feelings to her but he can't ignore those feelings no matter how much he wanted to.
This whole intensity where it shows it in his actions whether subtley and sometimes not so subtle is one of my reasons why I love his love for Liu Shao and Binbin did an amazing job portraying his characters there!
Wooooow, how I will be lying if I say that Dark God of Moon didn't make me fangirl when he's being intimate with…
To be honest I rather they not waste the last episode 40 just to do an alternate ending. They could have kept the ending to episode 39 and have episode 40 wrap up the story and show Luo Ge finding Liu Shao again, that will tie in similar to the novel ending... Where they got their happy ending in the extras....
Where are you reading this fanfic? Could you share the link too? Is the fanfic completed? If so happy ending where LG come back? If not then I will pass lol

P.S: Only sharing this to fans to Luo Ge x Liu Shao, if you are not a fan, then just ignore this.

I love Binbin though this drama so I might check it out.
But tell me please, is it a happy ending in that one? 😅
