Wow. That was weird. But it was Luo Ge who talked about Liu Shao serving him to his satisfaction and then he would…
Episode 39 is the only part you will see Luo Ge having control of his Darkness/evil spirit because of He Na passed him the water spell that gives him 3 days that allows him to be in control of his own body. And he's wearing the black costume while in control!
So the one who killed He Na was the evil spirit (Dark God of Moon), but when He Na dies, Luo Ge already got control of his body, but he pretended in front of Liu Shao that he's still Dark God of Moon because he wants Liu Shao to kill him, and the only way for her to do that is if she still thinks that's he's the evil spirit / Dark God of Moon in control. That's also why the battle in episode 39 was anti climatic because Luo Ge being in control of his body was planning to sacrifice himself since he have the intention for Liu Shao to kill him along with the evil spirit using her divine weapon
The one who said Liu Shao should serve him to his satisfaction, that's Dark God of Moon(evil spirit in control ), not Luo Ge, so yeah I guess he did think of it on his end. I also don't think what the Dark God of Moon i.e. the evil spirit controlling Luo Ge body have for Liu Shao is love, it feels more like lust instead.
ABSOLUTELY .. i fall head over he over him because of his acting in song of the moon...now im rewatching it..…
What you just said there really made me feel for him because of the amount of hard work and effort he puts in to play his role but in the end it's deleted like wtf!
Honestly I'm glad he played as the ML in this one because for me I came to love and appreciate his acting to a whole new level in SOTM, and NO second side story will take away my love for him as the main.
If what I read about what happened in SOTM favoring the 2nd pairing more is true where they are deleting the main pairing scenes (and I do know there's scenes being deleted.... That's why I am so annoyed) it only makes me dislike the 2nd pairing and AF more with distaste
From the three dramas I've seen him in (Eternal Love, Love O2O and SOTM), I like his character in all 3.
Yes alternative ending . So skip 39 and watch 38 to 40
Episode 39 was written better IMO . You shouldn't advise people to skip that episode since at least it makes sense with ending side of things, and the ending didn't felt rushed. Also the ending in episode 39 at least ties in similar to the Novel.

I only watched ZBB in three dramas so far. The first one was in Ten Miles Peach Blossom (Eternal Love), second drama is Love O2O and then this one and for all three dramas I've seen him in I do like him. He's denitely a great actor and his role in Song of the Moon has cemented my love for him that is why for me I appreciate him in getting this role and that I got into SOTM because if not I wouldn't have come love him this much!
Somebody in the review section hated Zhang Binbin in Ashes of Love. Is he even there?
That person fixed it. Apparently not from AOL but Eternal Love (Li Zing). I actually like ZBB in Eternal Love, while he's not my favourite character, but I do like him, even when I don't like who he ended up with LOL
It was a very promising drama! Zhang Bin Bin was outstanding and was a visual treat, honestly the most handsome…
Yeah the second pairing felt forced like the writers is forcing us to accept or like them. The more they are doing that the more it makes me not want to like them anymore.
Episode 40 have some nice scenes too but it just felt like it's there for the sake of giving everyone a happy ending and it didn't make sense...
But I do like the wedding scene/moment between Luo Ge and Liu Shao that they finally got married and they got another kiss (at least the editor didn't delete this one....) And while the ending scene to show Luo Ge came back but it raises questions for me so I feel conflicted in the moment...
The story did went downhill at a certain point but for me I still enjoy the main pairing scenes as well as scenes that has Luo Ge in it. I also enjoy the friendship between Luo Ge and He Na...
In the novel he did find LS again after all that and they got their happy ending... Too bad the writers couldn't follow through that in the drama .... I still say that they wasted one episode to do two endings. They could have wrapped up the story in the final episode 40, after that episode 39 ending scene...
Are you sure Vin Zhang is in Ashes of Love.. There's a few of us who watched AOL don't remember he was in it... You might have mistaken him as someone else.. Which character did Vin Zhang played as in AOL??
I will put my perspective out there why I think he's stupid for giving her Phoenix Tears It's stupid because he…
We will need more episodes for that and that is something they don't have unless they split this into two parts like some dramas.
Quite honestly I am sad that some of the scenes I wanted to see never made it to the drama...
And if I have to choose an ending between ep 39 and ep 40 ending scene , episode 39 touched me more I just wish they didn't waste one episode in doing two endings.. when they can use the final episode to wrap up lose ends.
I am more voting towards episode 39 ending and show LG finding LS in episode 40 again just like how it similarly tied to the novel but too bad....
My favourite ending is still that secret ending that got deleted...

I see you have edited your comment after I made that reply.
We can agree to disagree about A Fu, you have your opinions I'll have mines on how I see it.
With that all aside I do agree that they should wrap it up in a satisfactory manner instead of what we were given. I am not happy with the outcome especially when I know there are deleted scenes which made me even more annoyed at whoever decided to delete them... At this rate I felt sorry for the actors who pour their efforts into filming those scenes but just all went down the drain cuz it's deleted...
Next time I will not say "as long as it's a happy ending even if it's a last minute one is okay"
After what I was given I will now say "as long as it's a happy ending that makes sense and leads no doubt I am happy!"
If you want to read the ending I have wrote a review in here and explained the ending if you want spoilers, you can check out that review. So you can check that out if you want.
Long story short..There's 2 ending in this drama.
And 1 deleted secret ending that was never aired unfortunately...

Everyone preference is different. For me in terms of story and the writing and the emotional side of things episode 39 was done better.
I personally like episode 39 on my end.
At least at the end I wasn't confused or it didn't left me with doubt the way episode 40 has it...

Enjoy, to those who loves/appreciate the main pairing!
That's why I don't like him anymore.
