Does it count if watching via WeTV app (international version) on iOS? Watching from your link above is all in Chinese without subs. Would like to show support but sitting through a repeat without subs is going to be torturous despite the eye candy...

Yes. Yes. Yes to your comment.... The lead couple have so much screen time together so far. I do not mind side stories/couples but not to the extent they take up more than half of the drama. They should do that in a spin-off of their own drama.

I didn't know who Reba was until I watch Keep Running and she filled in when Angelababy was pregnant/giving birth (I think). Don't know who Lu Han was too cos I wasn't into Kpop or Chinese dramas then cos find that they're usually draggy towards the middle and makes me drop all halfway (only watch Kdrama). I found the interactions between Reba & Lu Han cute but the guy don't give off 'macho' feels (sorry, my taste is not for those 'softer' guys lol...). Compared to Leo Wu in TLB, now that's a real man for Reba. He can carry her and run without looking out of breath. Who wouldn't want such a strong He-man..... I know everyone is shipping Reba with nearly all popular handsome actors out there including Xiao Chan. I do hope he makes the smart move of bulking up like Leo Wu if ever he's going to be paired up with Reba. She likes 'em strong enough to carry her without complaints hahaha...
Before TLB, I'd be shipping both Yang Yang & Reba cos they look so good together (I imagine beautiful babies). Now, lets see after YAMG to decide who is more deserving of this goddess in our eyes. Whoever she chooses, hope the guy brings her happiness (if her choice is from entertainment circle, hope she steer clear of those with gossips of wife abuse cos she definitely deserve someone better).

You should try reading the novel if you have the time. Peanuts and Hoju did a very good job in translating it. I read it a few times while waiting for the drama to air. After you finish reading that, look for Really Really Miss You by Mo Bao Fei Bao. Really sweet.....
It's really different from those romance novels by western authors (and I do read a lot of that hahaha...) but I'm starting to like it.

It may seem manipulative to some though I feel it's more like she's trying to outwit Yu Tu as he has a passive kind of personality. Reason she did that was to get him over in order to convince him to be her personal coach due to the short time limit for the professional match (physically there to coach instead of online). She knows it's not an easy task based on how difficult it was for her to get Yu Tu to even talk to her when they were classmates.

I wasn't aware of the above. I usually try to be patient and watch dramas only when it has finished airing because I really hate waiting and bad endings. Meanwhile I only watch short clips and read comments.
But it seems both main lead are apart more than together throughout the series. The 3rd and 4th couple were much more interesting to watch. From the obsession Hao Du has on killing the FL, it would be more plausible for him to fall for her after realising her strengths, especially her loyalty to country and friends.
After finishing the drama, I've been watching BTS and interviews. Their interaction there has more romance feels than in the drama itself even though I can feel their affection when they portray it in the drama. The ML seems more mature than other male artistes who are older than him. Thoughtful and protective of people around him (not only to Reba though his eyes seem to light up when she's around) - his parents really brought him up well. It must not be easy growing up in the public limelight.

Same here, I always start few eps of her dramas then got so annoyed with the ML who is so undeserving of her affection. Dropped it and just watch short clips instead. She was so naturally exuberant and lovable in Keep Running until Lu Han fans created problems. Fans can be so crazy at times and makes me wonder if they're really so delusional.
I'm looking forward to her upcoming drama with Yang Yang in YAMG. Though she's supposed to have confessed and got rejected twice, hope the ML will not do it in too much of an a**hole way. The way I read it in the translated novel, it was still alright.

Wish they had more screen time together. I understand this drama is more like the story of the strong and independent FL's personal journey of discovery and self-growth but the interactions of ML and FL seems too little for a 49 episode drama.
I find the character of Leyan annoying and taking up too much screen time. If the cold blooded Hao Du realised he fell in love with the FL whom he's supposed to kill, it would make the story more interesting and I'll have more chance to see a jealous ML cos he's so adorable when jealous.

Lol... my thoughts exactly though some may dislike the long dialogues and lack of romance I love the couple especially the male lead.

Just finished watching and was surprised as this is the first drama of the FL that I sat through from beginning till end even though I like her since watching Keep Running and think she’s the most naturally perfect and beautiful actress compared to others.
Out of all her dramas the character portrayed by ML is by far the most deserving of her love. He admired her skills when he thought she was a male, protected and love her when he knew she was a female without stripping her of her independence.
Here FL does not need to ‘sacrifice’ to a**hole type ML before he realise his undying love for her. Sorry if I offended anyone with this remark.
For those who are undecided whether to watch, give it a try. ML is super adorable with dimple on his chin and both of them seem to have flawless skin without visible thick makeup like other drama whenever there is close-up view of main couple. Not much angst or evil characters trying to break up the couple. The only annoying character was the slow-talking Princess YiCheng. Feel like shaking her so she can speak faster.

I get the same vibe about the ML too. Character is portrayed as a selfish, aggressive go-getter just because he excels in everything he does. The only person he is good to is the FL. This is probably a more realistic portrayal of the modern guy whom you're not sure whether to love or hate if you're not the recipient of his affections.
Reason he signed up his friend without permission is because he couldn't participate solo - while it's good he's helping his friend to realise his potential, ultimately it was for that selfish reason that he enrolls the friend.

Thanks, your comment on half the cast being annoying as f*ck gave me a good laugh as I couldn't agree more. Also, the parts where they're in the game really felt kinda off to me too - I'd probably rate it a 6.5 purely because at least the main couple is watchable and great OST.

Don't watch for the plot. Watch for the eye candy, hahahaha.... There's also the option of watching on 2x speed.
If you're looking for better plot and don't mind the lack of romance, try Imperial Coronor or Joy of Life.
Seriously - the FL's reason to choose the ML don't seem that credible to me when she answered her friend on why she choose ML over the mature & stable (but creepy & sad-looking old dude). I think her main reason is because ML is handsome and can't say I blame her cos I'd do the same too.

Have to be honest, I'm only watching because of the eye candy - FL looks stylish and beautiful and i like her slightly squarish jaw compared to other actresses. In terms of storyline, plot etc... not that enjoyable mainly because I feel other supporting characters from the uni mates to the FL's friend were really 'dumbed down' in order to show how perfect the ML is to the point where they seem so annoying and I had to watch on 2x speed in WeTV any scene that does not involve the main couple (can still hear the dialogue and read the subs).
Thankfully, not much angst, really bad villain/in-laws in this drama so it's worth watching when you have nothing interesting to watch.

The FL also came to his rescue which is refreshing to watch. She said she’ll protect him and she really did. Really love this couple.

I found this to come second after Joy of Life only because it might seem draggy due to too much dialogue which makes viewers understand more but those without patience will nod off. The actors/actresses seems to ‘think out loud’ like those comics with speech bubbles on top of their head.
Meanwhile Joy of Life usually ends with cliffhanger on most episodes. Even the end of S1 is a big cliffhanger.

Most who comment on the FL’s character did not take the time to understand how it’s written.
Beingbrought up in a coroner’s family during those days means being ostracised by society and their community at large. She’s from a small village so cannot expect her to be so street smart.
I love how she portrayed her character and did not waver from her principles from beginning till end. Really complement the ML in all ways.

He treats the FL as an equal. Explains clearly how he arrives at a decision with logical approach and not condescending at all. Out of all other ML in dramas, I think he embodies the perfect life partner one hopes to have.
