Overall, I think this is one of the best and most enjoyable series GMMTV has ever done! It's giving me Queer as Folk, it's giving me L Word (in its aesthetic, Cheum deserved more time). Much more adult and much more realistic than the usual GMMTV series, this feels like my group of friends in college (but hotter haha). The sexual politics, the complicated relationships, the way that they hurt each other and forgave each other (or sometimes didn't), this, for me, is a much more accurate portrayal of (one segment of) the queer community than GMMTV usually shows. Not to mention, it had two ass-eating scenes in it! Just goes to show a real gay wrote this and did not sanitize it for the mass audience.
I do think that they treated Boston too harshly. As they mentioned in the series, Top and Boston were equally complicit but top got forgiven and Boston essentially got shunned. I don't think there's anything wrong with having casual sex as long as you are open and honest that that is what you want and need. I do think Boston was kind of manipulative towards Nick earlier in the show, but then Nick also put a bug in his car, so he's no angel either.
I thought Boeing's character was mostly too late of an addition to the show, I know that it did give the opportunity for Mew to show that he can be just as much of an asshole as Top, but I think the series could have done without all of that. That being said, Mond is fine as hell, and the scene at the wakeboarding place where Top confronts him in the shower and you see his v made his character's inclusion worth it.
I screamed out loud at least once in every episode, so I'm sure my neighbors could always tell when I was watching the series. I enjoyed it all, every episode something interesting happened, sometimes things that were very compelling happened. Ray was my least favorite character, but also one of the most emotionally complex, and Khaotung's rehab scenes were gut-wrenching.
I don't think this series needs a season 2, I think it's perfect as it is and it doesn't need to be dragged out into something it wasn't meant to be.
Looking forward to the next one from this writer and director!
I was not surprised by the behavior of most characters in the story, but Nick's actions caught me off guard. It…
Yeah, polyamory is a thing, monogamish (to quote Dan Savage) relationships are a thing, couples who have threesomes, etc... I mean, if you are going to show ass-eating in a a drama, can't you show an open relationship??? I mean, clearly, that's not what Nick wanted, but there was no need to imply that people who like casual sex are doomed to be friendless and alone, although Ton was an asshole for sleeping with Top.
The plot holes and the unnecessary drama is so pathetic
As a gay, I can tell you I have been part of many friend groups that had unnecessary drama. Maybe it doesn't usually all happen so close together haha, but everything so far seems pretty normal to me. Lying, cheating, addiction, sleeping with a friend's brother, sexy pics, drugs, police...Seems like real life to me. Maybe you live a different life?
If this series doesn't end with a massive orgy, they missed a great opportunity. Top/Mew/Boeing clearly should be a polycule and apparently Sand is Boeing's ex, so he can join in, you know Ray is down for a threesome, and how could Boston refuse? He will bring Nick. Cheum will feel left out if all of her friends are in, so she will join (and some of these guys have to be bisexual). It can be a dream sequence, haha, I don't care, but after that Boeing's v-line scene in the shower, I am ready for some more sexy times.
Ray is actually the villain of this show. When he and Sand kiss, etc... I am physically repelled. Which means Khaotung is a good actor, because usually I like his characters haha, so he is working hard to be repellent.
All the gays throwing fists, manipulating and plotting revenge and you have the lesbians resolving their issues…
Well, except for Cheum lied to April and April would have never known if the drunk sloppy gay hadn't outed her about it haha! but they did manage the fallout better than the others, for sure!
I keep forgetting this is still going...then I see it on youtube and skip through the whole ep in 5 minutes...Is there a plot??? Why did this get 12 episodes? It should have been 5-6

I take back what I said last week. Book is a good actor. I'm still not sure that he and Force have sexual chemistry,…
Sand purposefully broke his own phone, lied to Nick, sent the audio clip of Top and Ton to himself, told Ray (who he supposedly cares about) because he knew Ray is in love with Mew and would tell him, all to get revenge on Top. Sand had to know that all this wasn't going to end up well. He is not innocent at all.
