Same 🥹 I need them to rise from the pits of being GMMTV's least popular pairing.
Seriously, it just goes to show that like 70% of people in the BL fandom don't care about anything but the visuals of a couple and how much fanservice they will do. That includes producers, not just the fans themselves.
I'm not going to say Jimmy or Sea deserve an Oscar for their performance in this series, because it doesn't rise to the level of say, The Color Purple, which I watched yesterday (the musical film that was just released). That film had a huge amount of money in the budget, award-winning actors and actresses and an incredibly rich source material to draw from (Alice Walker's 1982 novel, The Color Purple, which won the National Book Award in the US, making Alice Walker the first Black woman in the US to win that award, which of course doesn't mean there weren't lots of amazing Black authors, just that it took so long for a mainstream award committee to recognize that fact). So, that movie was objectively much better.
However, keeping in mind the context in which this series exists (GMMTV's yearly revenue from 2022 was approximately 1/10 of the cost of the 2023 film The Color Purple according to their wikipedia page), this series is absolutely one of, if not THE best series GMMTV has ever produced and by extension one of the best BL series to have ever come out of Thailand (with a few close competitors such as Bad Buddy, Moonlight Chicken, I Told Sunset About You, I Feel You Linger in the Air, but that's probably about it).
And then there will be people who are fixated on Joong and Dunk or Pond and Phuwin, who are cute 20 year olds, but are nowhere near as talented in acting as Jimmy and Sea have shown themselves to be in this series. To be fair to the other actors, the writing for their shows was absolutely awful, so I'm sure that some of them probably have more talent than we have seen, but still... Anyone who is comparing old school BL series like SOTUS or TharnType to this series, or the newer popular series that are only popular because lots of teenagers are obsessed with the looks of the main actors, is delulu. This series is hands down better than any of those other series (with those few exceptions I mentioned).
too many characters, not enough time to start caring about them... this ep didn't have any spicy scenes, just confusing plot and wooden dialogue. I'll probably just skim through each episode
the th transliterated to roman characters from the thai alphabet does not have the same sound in thai as in english. It's [tʰ], which is an aspirated t (essentially a t followed by a breath of air from back in throat). So the pronunciation is closer to the english word tong (the thing you use to get spaghetti out of a bowl).
What was everyone involved in this drama thinking??? They were OK about writing a gay ML but they decided it was…
I'm a big homo and I bitched about Cherry Magic for months because of their fake ass kiss scene in the elevator at the end, but... I thought this one was cute? I mean, they are young, first love, etc... I wasn't expecting them to suck face at the end or like, fuck on the beach. I liked it, I thought the kiss was pretty typical. It didn't bother me.
I'm already watching this episode for the second time today... It's crazy how perfectly tender, sweet, funny and…
100% agree! Out of all the GMMTV couples, they are the one I most want to see get married and have babies (in a series, not in real life, shipping real people is gross).
Jimmy in the grey tank top and button down sitting on that stage... girl, my chair is wet... damn, he is fine af.
This show is too sweet! Also, Namtan is beautiful, if this ends up in a polycule between the three of them where they make a family together, I am all for it! <3 <3 <3
They are the cutest couple! Seriously, I could just watch them cuddle!
