This drama isn't a romance. In my opinion, the lack of romantic chemistry is intentional! The romance could take…
I am actually glad that there was a lack of romantic presence in their interactions…
It felt inappropriate between them and the storyline surely did not need it.
(There were enough of more interesting and more exciting female characters around him).
The script should have gone for a brotherly/sisterly relationship.

I went from season 1 straight into season 2. The actor change from Arthur Chen to Dylan wang is a huge mistake.…
They gave Ning Que a Dissociative identity disorder (DID) 🤣🤣🤣.
He had one distinctive persona in season 1 and then a completely different one in season 2.
I understand for whatever the reasons; changes in cast do happen in the film industry. However, a change of character from a great-original one to something not even remotely close… Will only make the viewers very perplexed.

Not boring at all…
You certainly make perfect sense.
As of now, the current FL is one of the most vanilla, non-essential and irrelevant female character that I have seen in any storyline.
I am almost intrigued to see how they will develop, replace or remove her character (all-together) in the next season.

I dived into that Wuxia/Xianxia drama very late and solely because I adore Zhang Ruoyun’s style of acting.
The man is a maverick when it comes to dry, sarcastic and smart humor.
And the Fair-White Fox lady warrior is a perfect match for Xu Feng Nian’s brainiac character… So intriguing and so interesting…
As a matter of fact, I also thought that she was the FL until they introduced that little girl.

Indeed, we can only wait to see if we will get a glorious production, yet again, with the second season.

I really love this show, but I wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't see any chemistry in the main couple. They…
You are absolutely not the only one…
The majority of the viewers has similar thoughts.
Older brotherly/little sisterly affection - Yes (And should have remained exactly that).
Chemistry and romantic affinity for each other - A big fat ZERO.

From what I understand the ML marries her in the original novel… follow by a harem of ladies; as it was the practice in ancient times. In season 2… I am not sure.
Nevertheless, I will not be at all too upset if they remove the actress and her character all-together from the televised storyline.

as long as they don't change the actors/actress, screen writer and director. nothing can go wrong
Agreed.
Replacing the actress who was portraying the FL (all together) or a complete rewriting of her character would be very advantageous to the drama.

As for the actress who was portraying Qing Niao… Replacing her in season 2 does not make any sense. She did such a great job in season 1.

Then you haven't watched harem dramas where one male has over 15-20 girls surrounding him. I'm sure you've watched…
👍

100% agree with this comment. Every character was so interesting, except for Jiang Ni (maybe a casting decision?…
You are not the only one.
Me too, I wished his love interest was the Fair-White Fox lady.
Her character is so talented and so intriguing.
She would have been the perfect match for him. Without knowing much about his late mother, Fair-White Fox lady reminds me of her.

And yes, to me also… There was not really any romance between Xu Feng Nian and little-forever-mopping-face, Princess of West Chu. Older Brotherly-Little Sisterly affection for one another would have been more appropriate.

Simply outstanding.
Another great writing from the same screenwriter of Joy Of Life 1.
As for her specific character… I just blocked her out in my mind; she was irrelevant to me.

PS: My most favorite character had to be Xu Feng Nian’s father… Xuxiao.
The man was simply omnipotent.
He was so corny and so loving with his children but at the same time, he was ruthless with his enemies.
If Mei Changsu from Nirvana in Fire 1 had survived to be an aged all-powerful general and loving father…
Xuxiao’s character would have been the older version of Mei Changsu’s character.

I concurred!
Anyone of the other female characters could have been a better love interest for him than her.
From A to Z, that was a well executed production where every character had layers of complexity and intrigue that were necessary to the storyline.
As for the little-forever-mopping-face, Princess of West Chu… Her character was completely irrelevant to the storyline.

Agreed.
Her whole character and storyline were out of place.
My bedroom’s doorknob has more charisma and stage-presence than her character.
Being young and inexperienced have nothing to do with the character she was portraying in the storyline.
Literally, her character was non-essential to the storyline and I could not care less that she was there or not there.

Once again, those sad feelings that I had with the completions of those first seasons - Joy of Life, Ever Night, and Fights Break Sphere…
They completely ruined the vibe in Ever Night 2 by replacing most of the original casts. Hopefully, they have learned their lessons.

Just as Joy of Life 1, Sword Snow Stride 1 is a beautifully executed dramatized production. I didn’t care the slightest for the forever-mopping-face-little Princess of West Chu; however, the rest of the production was so well done that her non-existent character doesn’t affect my final review.
Season 2… Yet again, another waiting game.

If anyone thinks he’s lazy or weak they didn’t watch enough to earn the right to comment about it lol watch…
Indeed!
Usually in a powerful or in a royal family… If one is all-around a maverick at everything, that person will die very young.
So for their safety, they act a fool by keeping a low or an unfavorable profile.
And that is exactly what his character was doing in the early episodes.

Seems like no oneis really talking about the father son relationship of Dan Hwal n Dan Geuk, one of the purest…
It’s interesting…
I was just rewatching The Kingdom of the Winds… And I was thinking this was the kind of fatherly and son’s loving relationship that I wanted to see between king Yuri and Muhyul.
What a beautiful relationship they had 600 years prior.
Me too, I can’t wait to see their relationship in the modern era.

2 episodes down…
And so far, I am utterly impressed with everything.
Great cast, great writing and stunning directing.
Whether the scenes were gory, dark or tragically emotional; they were beautifully directed.
I am loving the unpredictability and the complexity of the storyline.
Let’s hope they don’t drop the ball down the line.

Completely and unfairly removing Zhang Zhe Han from the entertainment industry and from the public view…

You are exactly right.
I am a modern westerner so the concept of "Arranged Marriage" is an unwanted and a foreign manière de vivre for me.
The uniqueness that you found in the initial episodes came out as bizarre and as very much awkward from my point of view.
And indeed dear, not all opinions are shared or should be agreed upon; that is the beauty of freedom of expressions and opinions 😉.

I do not like the plot nor the storyline but i do not hate them. This sequel will probably be another one of my IKEA's furniture building white background noise... dramas.
