Blossom in adversity (2024)… I enjoyed that; I only wished that there was a better balance between the palace intrigues (ML) and the (FL) business and survival.
In Blossom (2024)… I really wished that they had kept the initial actress for the FL. That actress was skilled in her craft. As for Ju Jing Yi, to me, her acting has always been one of the worst around.
Blossom (2024)… On my forever-growing list now. Thanks mate.

I stand by what I wrote initially. Your review of this drama was on point. I could not have written it any better 👍.
I very much enjoyed the acting from the actress who portrayed the FL character until episodes 16 and 17. From then on, the initial writer or the substitute writer was obviously on something really strong.

Bin Bin is fat🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think that he is in his best shape ever. Did you see the beautiful leaned muscles on him? I was like… Please keep that robe off a little bit longer… Pretty please 🙏

The thing is; I have never found this actor (their pretty-face pretty-boy SML) as attractive as the masses seem to portray him to be. To me, he has a very unique and niche look.
The only time, I got intrigued by his features was years ago in “Bloody Romance.” And in that drama, he was disheveled in most of the scenes.

I concur. The title should have been “Obsession Through Reincarnations.” And Zhang Bin Bin had no business to be in this drama. He only wasted his time. I hope that he got a good paycheck, at least…

It felt like they changed the initial writer midway to another writer. At first, I just adored the FL… Straightforward, strong, decisive, concise, independent, no baby voice, and not irritating as it is the usual formula for any strong FL role in Asian productions. Then by episode 16, they gave her extreme-selective memory loss (selective amnesia). Second, the doctor without a moral compass, aka the snake, aka the evil friend… From the first episode, I knew the dude was more evil and more psychotic than the so-called evil abyss master. The character was the ML confident for no logical reason whatsoever! Third, the actual ML was bombarded left and right by all sorts of BS, which made me think that the writer did not care for the writing behind the ML character.
No need to wait for episode 28. By episodes 16 and 17, the entire drama turned into a massive pile of incoherent BS.
This production reminds me of “Ashes of Love.” Where the ML half-brother, aka the evil water dragon/the evil complicated SML, was never held accountable for his many many many actions. This production also reminds me of “The Wolf.” Where the FL was having a serious ambiguous relationship with the SML. The SML got all the first intimate interactions that were supposed to be with the ML.
Started off good for me, got boring after ep 18 - sooo didnt care for much of the Youngzhou story arc - the vapid…
I agree. I paused at some point, indefinitely… I just could not invest my time in it. Dommage! I really wanted to watch them together ever since “The Long Ballad.”
I was surprised by how boring it was. I very much enjoy watching the 2 main leads usually… And I have been waiting to watch them together ever since “The Long Ballad.” However, for me, this storyline was missing depth and vigor. I kept feeling that something was missing… Almost dull…
Agreed. For me, a 10 rating is abundantly too high… Not even an 8.5 rating. I enjoy watching the 2 main leads (in many other projects); however, in this, their vibe was a bit flat for me. I wanted to love the little boy’s character delivery but the character itself, always felt to me, way older for that young actor. Almost as if, he was overacting. A watchable show but not a great show.
Too bad. I have been waiting to watch them together since “The Long Ballad.” However, something was missing for me.
8.1 rating? That is incredibly too high for whatever that was. A solid 7.9 rating for episode 1 to episode 23. And a -5 rating for episode 24 to episode 32.
Wasted potential. Wasted potential.
PS: Liu Xue Yi is irrevocably a formidable actor and he has a very versatile range in terms of acting… What I did not know was how good he was at delivering emotional scenes. I was mesmerized by his emotional scenes.

The first 2… I will definitely check.
As for Guardian of Dangfen…For me, the constant slapstick jokes were too forced. They started to irritate me. Thus, I dropped that one.
As for "Song of the Moon…”
Not that bad. The ending, without divulging too much, could have been better manicured. All and all, watchable.
Any other great and recent productions you might recommend?

Do they actually write those?🤣🤣🤣🤣
The younger masses never cease to surprise me.
Indeed, the FL in “Bloody Romance” was as decisive as a heart attack with her love interest.

My bad🤣
