At E8 and well this drama also failed to get me outta slump... It started well, I was intrigued in first 2 eps then got a lil stretchy from E5 and by E8 it has become like a regular stretchy drama which starts high starts going downhill with unnecessary tropes of reincarnation, misunderstanding and breakups and so many villains from mid episodes till very last or 2nd last episode with that Happily Ever After thrown at your face in the very last 15 minutes of last episode. Seems like Kdramas are a good gone case for me 🥲
Should I start watching this....It has been on my PTW list and I'm in a slump since more than a year now. Added this thinking that it'd be like Hometown CCC but reviews are divided.
I'll definitely wait till next year... I couldn't complete Kwb and Suzy last drama Uncontrollably Fond cuz I started watching when KWB was diagnosed with cancer and couldn't watch the drama. But I love Suzy and KWB. KWB was the sole reason why I watched the Heirs too so yeah 2025 doesn't seem that far after all we're already almost 3 months into 2024.
I don't think I recommended any drama this year to anyone it's such a disappointing year for kdramas. I barely managed to complete only a few... do not even have a courage to watch other few listed here. Also the ratings are generally so over the top here on MDL that I feel a 9+ rating for kdrama now is a 7 for me. I mean look at Twinkinling Watermelon with 9.2 and even shit series like celebrity has 8.3? What are these people smoking or has the standards gone so low?
I have seen a few of them and a few of their work and it's just that whatever J-content I've watched was either a hit or a miss but yeah they do come up different concepts and storytelling and the way they act well. And do believe that people should try giving J-content a chance as well.. I've seen more Japanese movies than dramas but Alice in Borderland was mind-boggling 🙌🏻
Though my female J-actor(ress) Crush is definitely Ishihara Satomi she's just literally a goddess 🥹
I can say that 2023 has to be the most disappointing year for Kdramas and Cdramas. Out of 68 dramas listed here I have only 10 dramas in my watchlist and I could only complete 3 out of those. Hidden love was nice though with unrealistic elements... Moving though initially gave me a X-Men inspired vibe and that the drama held promise and potential but after E5 with all the flashbacks and unnecessary love tropes made me skip a lot. And Twinkinling Watermelon had so many flaws... I mean all these time travel back to the future inspired dramas suck cuz they have so many loopholes and this one had the regular damsel in distress trope which is used a lot often in Kdramas. I just ended that after skipping a lot. Watched it only cuz of Choi Hyun-wook and Seol in-ah.
What it worked for me to left the slump was to watch short dramas, i started with korean movies and then move…
Yeah I've started my man is cupid and currently liking it! Next gonna start watching my Demon and Welcome to Samdalri. Hopefully I'll get out if slump 🤞🏻
Wow I honestly forgot that it has started airing I even ignored Netflix's reminder 😂😂 Glad I did cuz judging the vibes of comments below... this hasn't started well 😅
